This place is great. The vets and other staff clearly really care about the animals, and go above and beyond with the service. The prices are fair, and I think it's great that they offer discounts for treatment for animals adopted via Edinburgh Cat Protection League. I'm delighted with my choice of this vet, and will definitely come here for all the other treatment my cats will need. Thanks especially to Anna, who was amazing with my feline children! P.S. Despite my surname I am no relation to the owner! Read Less

After reading the bad review below, I felt I had to post my opinion! I have had nothing but an amazing experience from the Newhaven practice and its staff, having recently moved into the area. A couple of weeks ago I booked my kitten in to be neutered, and when dropping him off in the morning, I was offered the Healthy Pet Club, which would save me a fortune and provide my cat with all the boosters and other care he would need on a regular basis! So saying that they are only interested in money is far from the truth. In fact, I saved 160 at least in just one visit after being informed by the helpful and cheery receptionist about what they could offer. I was then updated on how he was after the op and when picking him up, was provided with all the necessary documents and further treatments for the next month, at no extra charge and an appointment made to check up on the cat after his operation. Having gone back this afternoon for my cats boosters (which were at no extra charge after joining the Healthy Pet Club), I was offered further advice and was met with a smile and a friendly face. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone! Thank you for all of your help! Read Less

Absolutely hurendous services, took my cat in as I could see he was in pain with one of his teeth, the vet confirmed this, took my money and sent us away with pain killers, thought I would go elsewhere for a second opinion as I felt like I was rushed in and out the door and my cat wasn't examined properly or near enough not at all. Took him to another vet which was highly recommended by friends and couldn't have been happier with there services, turns out it wasn't just one tooth, it was multiple teeth and also an absess. So all in all I would have paid for the one tooth to be removed and the rest not seen to if I had continued with this vet. Also the receptionist has a terrible attitude towards paying customers. Staff are lovely so caring and empathetic . Last year the brilliant Mr Davidson carried out cataract surgery on our jack russell saving the sight in one of the eyes, dramatically improving his quality of life. We recently had a bit of a scare when the lens in the other eye became detached causing discomfort to our boy. A phone call later we were booked in at very short notice, thank you! After an early morning start and a 170 mile trip Mr McCallum was soon putting our minds at rest, explaining everything so thoroughly and just generally taking fantastic care of our dog. Been with this practice over 10 years and they have treated my guineas, cats and dogs with the upmost best care! I trust them with my furry children! Compared to other practices, prices are on the higher side however having had to weigh this up recently, I still decided that this was the only practice where I know my animals would get the BEST and friendliest care! I always know they weigh up what's best for the animal and never ever recommend treatment if they don't feel it's needed! Thank you! Read Less

Great service all round! We were previously registered with a branch of another Edinburgh veterinarian, but had two poor experiences and were charged through the roof for the privilege. Batchelor, Davidson and Watson was absolutely excellent from start to finish. The nurses were very helpful and welcoming, both on the phone and in person, whilst the veterinarian was friendly and extremely knowledgeable, even for our somewhat exotic pet. Though they are located several miles from us, I wouldn't hesitate to take my pets there again, even with the added taxi fare. Thank you! Read Less
