It’s taken a while to write this as I was so sad and felt I’d let my little friend down. Rex my cat started to show signs of being really poorly on New Year’s Eve. Laying down panting not eating he was pawing his mouth and shaking his head excessively. I had a look in his mouth and the edges of his tongue were going blue. I thought I was loosing him. We went to bridge st Middlesbrough vets on New Year’s Day I was so glad they’d see him. When he came back out with the nurse I felt like I was getting a ticking off that he just had bad tartar. I was so embarrassed. Sadly Rex died 3 days later. I went to another vet a day before he died but it was too late. I feel like his death was drawn out and painful. I’m so upset he was treated like this. Read Less

A decent vets, wish we could stick with seeing one vet but each time we go we see a different vet, think there are about 7 different vets. It's not a big problem but it would be good for consistency.

Have emailed a complaint so shall see what happens. I dont know why i started using them again tbh. I know they always over charge. But on friday i took my poorly westie in as he isnt using his back legs properly, his tail is down and his skin on his bum is sore (which he gets from time to time) and hes slightly lethargic. The vet looked at him and insisted Bobby has fleas (which he doesn't as hes up to date with fleas and worms) Didnt check Bobby over at all and just kept insisting its fleas. He tried to tell us he needed steroid tablets. We declined and opted for cream. This cleared up Bobbys rash but still has the symptoms the vet ignored due to him "having fleas". My poor dog has now spent the weekend not himself at all and is clearly still poorly as the vet wasnt 1 bit bothered. Plain RUDE!! Read Less

I cannot honestly believe some of the poor reviews that I have seen for Bridge. Think it's unfair that an out of hours service, which rents the premises, should be used as a point of reference for this absolutely superb vets. I have used bridge for years, my dog, Piper, was recently spayed and I would not use any other vet. The staff are brilliant, caring, personable and with lots of people skills. They care and I have never felt for one moment that they are out to make a quick profit. Thanks to all at Bridge including the extremely talented Mr Talbot, Annie the nurse who cared so much for a dog I lost a few years ago and the lovely reception team! Keep up the brilliant work! Horrific, uncaring and no people skills. Had to use this surgery for out of hours emergency. My 19 year very ill cat had to be put to sleep. But not before a disgusting level of uncaring attitude by the female foreign vet. First being bombarded by a level of questioning on if I could afford the vet fee??? Then not caring my 12 year old son didn't want to be in the room whilst my cat was put to sleep. It was the lovely assistant who helped my son through the back door sobbing as the vet couldn't care less! She held down my beautiful, well cared for and dearly loved old cat, while she attempted to find a vein. It was like a horror show and really has disturbed me. The guilt I feel is tremendous as I let my loyal, gentle cat die howling and struggling against this awful woman, pinned down to a cold hard bench with me in shock. Horrific to the end. Why we as a country are allowing hard faced, uncaring vets from Eastern Europe to work here is beyond my comprehension. They have a differing view on animals as the British do. Read Less

I stayed up all night with my cherished Golden Retriever. She died suffering due to the incompetence of Bridge veterinary group. We actually got a refund for the blood tests they were going to carry out. The girl who seen her at a home visit promised us this. Its a shame we hadn't seen her at the practice because my dog suffered through the incompetence of some vet straight out of uni, all the qualifications in the world doesn't make you an expert at anything!. If you care for your animal do not go to this place! Read Less

We have a cat and a young dog registered here. Very time we take them in we are treated with care and respect. They really do treat the animals as if they were their own. Poppy our dog actually loves going to the vet! She goes at least once a month and has never had a bad experience. We don't always see the same vet, but we know no matter who we see, we revive the same high level of care and respect. Read Less

We went to this place recently as we had taken our budgie. The vet saw the budgie give it an antibiotic drop and said it would be fine after a few hours and then to feed it seeds to get its strength back. We were also given antibiotic drops to take home as we were told to give them to the budgie the next day. So once we paid up which was expensive we were on our way home. We left satisfied that the budgie will make a recovery as we were givn all this assurance by the vet. We came home and the budgie passed away after one hour. I rang the vets to let them know our budgie had passed away and I spoke to the vet who had seen our budgie and her response was "It kind of doesn't surprise me as the mixture between breathing problem and all the stress of coming to the vet that's enough for it to pass" and she also said " I wasn't very enthusiastic about my treatment because I know plenty of them they don't make a recovery" My question here would be why not tell us all of this information to us upfront while we were at the vets and why get our hopes up and say the budgie would be fine after a few hours as to me that is like giving false hope. We would have appreciated if she could have just told us the budgie will not survive and that way at least we would know that there was no hope so even though we are grateful that she gave it a check as it was an emergency and on a weekend I still think it's a shame that there is not a true dedicated Avian vet in Middlesbrough. This has put us off keeping budgies in future as the feeling we got at this vets was we don't really do budgies other than cats and dogs. For them it was take your money, just give it a drop of antibiotic, off you go and no compassion whatsoever from the vet. Read Less
