Penmellyn Vets

Newquay, Cornwall
General Info
Penmellyn Vets is a name well known to animal owners across Cornwall who use their local veterinary services. The clinic’s Cornwall location makes it easy for pet owners from the surrounding areas to receive regular veterinary services. The procedure highly depends on the case and may include routine checkups, pet vaccinations, and early disease screenings, as well as diagnostic consultations. Penmellyn Vets ensures a peaceful and organized atmosphere, which lowers the stress levels of both pets and owners. Throughout Newquay, veterinary professionals address various medical needs concerning pets’ skin and coat, dental issues, and mobility disorders. The clinic is adept at handling acute health matters like infections or digestive changes in addition to the routine wellness visits and preventive plans. Cornish families rely on Penmellyn Vets when their pets are diagnosed with serious illnesses or need help managing chronic conditions in older age. They also talk about the way the clinic communicates with them when they need to understand things better, which is kind and clear. Pet owners feel more confident in the decisions they make for their animals. Many customers also stay loyal for long periods because they feel that the company delivers consistently enough to develop trust over time. Because the veterinary staff is knowledgeable about both straightforward and complex topics, they are able to effectively give pet owners advice on how to take care of their animals in the long run. Penmellyn Vets continues to grow as more pet owners move into the Newquay area and look for veterinary practices nearby. The clinic's cooperation with the local pet community creates a link between responsible ownership and proper animal care. A well-established practice in Cornwall is always a reliable option for the routine and urgent needs of your pets. Due to the proximity of the Penmellyn Vets clinic, Newquay residents and those living in adjacent parts of Cornwall highly appreciate this facility. New pet owners seeking guidance and longtime clients with special concerns will always need clearly communicated compassionate veterinary care. The practice does the basic community role when it acts. Services offered include: Acupuncture, Anesthesiology, Behavioral Counseling, Boarding, Cardiology, Chiropractic Care, Dental Care, Dermatology, Diagnostics, and Equine Care.

I am consistently impressed with all of the staff at Penmellyn. Having had past dealings with them for my old Dog - And more recently having annual boosters for my ridiculously timid cat who tends to be terrified of everyone but me. From Sam giving me advice over the phone on how to get her into her crate without fuss, to Amber, who was absolutely brilliant with her, keeping her calm the entire time and so gentle with her. Penmellyn staff are all brilliant and I'm always met with a welcoming smile at the front desk. 10* Read Less

Penmellyn Vets have looked after our families pets, past and present for nearly 30 years and I trust them implicitly! They have been there with us through some very hard times and have always gone above and beyond to deliver the best possible veterinary care. Every single member of the team strives to do the best possible for all animals. Personally Penmellyn have looked after my beloved dogs, my ASBO nominated cat Eek, to injured ducks, to lost and found cats to tiny little fledglings that have fallen out of the nest! Penmellyn are kind, compassionate, very generous with Schmackos (Evie likes that) and always swift to deal with anything that comes up, as it so frequently does, they are also professional, thorough and leave no stone unturned. We have used Penmellyn for many years even when they were in the tiny practice just before entering St.columb. They have always been great with all of our dogs and have a very high attention to detail, i have recently been using them for the last 5 years or so for my horses and after having to have my horse stabled for a few nights while having lots of treatment they were brilliant, they have the perfect set up and i knew that my horse was properly cared for couldn't fault them, they talked me through everything they were doing and why, they even followed up with a phone call and email to ask how everything was by the vet who was doing the procedures. I also had to make the horrible decision that every horse owner dreads, but i emailed Ruth Varcoe and she put my mind at ease and helped me through my tough decision. They are a brilliant practice with a brilliant team and i will be continuing to use them for the foreseeable future.Read Less

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the staff but especially Colin Whiting for fixing up our little cat Archie who has been through so much since his accident with a car in November. Archie received great care and everything was clearly explained to myself leaving me feeling confident in Archies surgery. A really great practice with amazing caring nurses and vets! Thanks so much x Read Less

We have two wheaten terriers who are both prone to various allergies / ear infections and the like. The guys at Penmellyn have always been excellent not only in the way they treat our boys, but also in trying to help us identify issues when they come up. Dare I say both our dogs seem to actually quite enjoy going there, especially the treat bit at the end! Read Less

Our family has been using Penmyllen Veterinary for 5 years now for our two black labs- unfortunately we've had to visit a few times more than we'd of liked- for allergy problems to hip conditions but the service has always been very welcoming and friendly. Care, support and advice is always offered and all the staff from receptionists to vets make a real effort to befriend the animals in their care - a few treats go a long way with labs I would recommend their services to any pet owner! Would always recommend the service provided by penmellyn, I've been bringing my animals to the surgery for many years and all my childhood pets have been seen by Penmellyn vets so as an adult my first choice was yourself to have my animals looked after. last year my cat suffered an injurie to his arm and paw and was looked after so well, he was enjoying the attention after visiting every few days for his dressing to be changed .
