Church End Veterinary Centre

St Austell, Cornwall
General Info
Churchend Veterinary Centre has been providing care for pets, horses and farm animals, in St Austell and the surrounding area for over 100 years. We are now a 15 strong team of veterinary surgeons, nurses and support staff committed to providing the best possible care for your animals, including a 24 hour emergency service.
Since 1st January 2014 Churchend Veterinary Centre has merged with Pelyn Veterinary Group and Harleigh Vets Ltd forming a larger group - Kernow Veterinary Group Ltd. This allows us to draw on the skills, resources and expertise from across the group. Merging also allows us to offer a dedicated emergency service based at Lostwithiel using staff from all three practices and provide 24hr nursing care.

My 19 year old dog became poorly and vet came out next morning and we agreed he should be put to sleep. The team were very gentle with him, and me, and gave us time to say goodbye, left us with him for a bit and gently folded him in a blanket and took him away. Today I received a card and forget-me-knot seeds for him, made me cry, but was a lovely gesture as it made it feel less like he was 'just a dog' but important enough to mark his death. Read Less

To the people that are complaining about costs here...REALLY!!! try some of the other rip off artists that mascarade as caring vets round here..Ones that won't even start to treat you pet that is critically ill unless you can PROVE -up front- that you can pay for it! From the 1st day I walked into this practice I knew they were for me..the receptionists and nurses will actually smile and chat to you, like a person rather than a inconvenience that they have to deal with. And they have a sense of humour as well- bonus. I normally just see the one vet but have seen others on occasions- they all CARE, they listen to you, never dismissing out of hand any theories or observations you might have. They make friends with your pets understanding how much they mean to most people and they are always on top of the latest of what is out there in animal treatments. I have NEVER felt overcharged, and trust me I am not a rich person, never have been so I don't take charges lightly. I feel at home and secure here and certain that that my furry family is in the best hands I can find WELL DONE AND THANK YOU ALL AT CHURCHEND VETS........ Read Less

Stay clear of them. They used to be so caring and now all they care about is money. If you require a crate to keep an animal in they will rent you 1 but it's half the cost to actually buy 1. Also added things on to my bill that I didn't have and refused to take them off of my account. They only wish to deal with clients that will spend a fortune there if it's a simple problem with a small animal they don't care at all. Read Less

This means to me they are money grabbers because they just wanted the money! He probably overdosed on the stuff as well! We then got banned from the surgery because we didnt pay!
