Took our dog to MSG surgery last Tueday as she had a slight limp. Vet could not find anything wrong with joints etc so proscribed anti inflammatory tablets and advised us to return following week char...
Took our dog to MSG surgery last Tueday as she had a slight limp. Vet could not find anything wrong with joints etc so proscribed anti inflammatory tablets and advised us to return following week charged £57. Took her back today when another vet called for her, no examination carried out just asked my wife about the dog and charged us another £45 for 2 minutes (by the way the vet was very abrupt with my wife). We should have been told to only return if there had been no improvement as there would be another charge, we feel really disappointed as we have always recommended this practice to other owners and are now looking at moving.

Recently had to get my family dog put to sleep and the team at Stanhope park were amazing. Took time to explain everything and made sire we understood. The girl stayed in the room and held the dog while she was put to sleep and I think she even had a tear in her eye after. They really do care about the animals here.

We unfortunately had to use the out of hours service but our little pooch just couldn't hang on till we got there. They dealt with the whole situation amazingly and there was no pressure for money upfront, we were so grateful for the few days to grieve and get our heads round it. They talked us through all our options and were able to answer every question we had. Can't fault them on any part of the experience which is definately what you need in such an awful situation. We will be forever thankful for their care that night and the week following.

Update : Stanhope Park Veterinary Hospital thank you for calling me this morning to apologize for the lack of communication for not telling me about the situation when the cat was still with you. I thank you as well for neutering this lovely boy which was what you said you would do. If i understood well you released the cat as a group decision also with the RSPCA because he was too distressed being kept inside. You said this cat was released not far from my area, i will send you a private message to know where so i can let neighbors know too. I have the feeling we all did what we could for him, now it s up to him to maybe find a safe and nice place to stay. I will leave food out in case he s around. Everything happen for a reason. So thank you for your call today and your help with this boy I think you are a great practice and you earned a future customer. Gratitude.

We had Charlie (our Cocker Spaniel) in for a lump removal a couple of months back and the service both myself and Charlie received was 5*. His wound was extremely neat and he got very excited when he went back in for his check up (He loves the staff!). All the staff were lovely and made us both feel very welcome. I visited the Duke Street surgery for the first time this week with my cat Phoebe. It was a lovely calm and peaceful experience. I will always try to book my cats into this surgery from now on. Parking was easy around the park and a short walk to Duke Street. Note there is a different phone number for this surgery but I was told both systems were linked so not to worry if I rang the Stanhope Park number.

We took our dog there to get spayed. And a few growths removed off her belly. The vet was not concerned about the lumps but we said take them off any way. The vet doing the op xrayed her and told the wife the dog had a huge mass in her chest cavity and couldn't operate. Then told her to manage the symptoms. It would have been easy to say put her down as not to see her suffer. But my wife told me the Internet said there was a 50.50 chance on an operation. So asked the vet for a second opinion. He said no but would refer her to another vet . The wife took her there and he said he could see nothing on the xray so said he would do a mri scan if all was OK he would spay her . He rang later and said to pick the dog up all done and perfectly fit .1600 later .which considering there was nothing wrong in the first place is discusting. We had a meeting with the vet and they said it was a poor xray and offered us our 200 we paid for the original op. We refused and were going to take it further. But they put it in the hands of there insurance and the story's changed. So decided to leave it . To save the stress. But we are disgusted and will never go there again .

We had Charlie (our Cocker Spaniel) in for a lump removal a couple of months back and the service both myself and Charlie received was 5*. His wound was extremely neat and he got very excited when he went back in for his check up (He loves the staff!). All the staff were lovely and made us both feel very welcome.
