Misdiagnosed my dog with final stage renal failure, I was told to purchase special renal food, which it turned out he didn't need, as when he took ill late at night the emergency vet did blood tests (which vets4pets encouraged me not to get) and turned out his kidneys were perfect. We were not surprised, as he was still eating, had energy, which i had told the vet. The signs of renal failure are lack of appetite and leghargy. There's no out of hours service so when my dog was taken seriously ill, we had to drive 30 minutes with a dog who was fitting. He sadly passed away that night. I've now moved my other dog to a different surgery that does have 24 hours on site vets and nurses, as having to drive to Middlesbrough with a seriously ill dog is not something I would ever want to repeat.
