We’ve always used Dunelm for Ted and the team have always been really patient with him (he doesn’t like them). Your parking facilities are garbage. Pets are stressed enough without people having to drive around for 15 minutes trying to find one or wait for one. Your waiting times are garbage too. Not helped by the parking no doubt. I dont recommend you to anyone, this will be my last visit here. Read Less

Cant rate these guys highly enough.fran and a man (dont remember his name)came tonight on an emergency call out to sadly put our baby to sleep,and nothing was a trouble, they tried giving him a sedative to try and make it as stress free as possible for him and as we havent had much good experience where vets are concerned they deserved a mention as they were absolutely brilliant! I visited this vets on business from work and got a good feeling from them so I booked my lovely dog in to be spayed. The prices are very good and the service is second to none. Molly was spayed on 17th November 2017 and I could not ask for better treatment for my precious pet. The staff are lovely and can not do enough for you and your pet. I have dealt with 2 vets in the past and they were ok but Dunelm vets are far superior in price and service. Read Less

Below is an email I sent yesterday and still no response, I'm not normally one to leave bad feedback but feel people need to know about their out of hrs "care" If I could have given 0 stars I would. I called your out of hours emergency number on Sunday 30th April at 7.07am for assistance after our Westie Meg had fitted and as she had no history of fits and was up until this point well in herself, I didn't know what to do. After speaking to the vet over the telephone I was t...old to keep an eye on her make sure she's eating and drinking during the day and if she was to fit again bring her in on Tuesday for blood tests. Meg seemed to pick herself up during the day until 5.30pm where she started fitting again, I again called the emergency number to be told again keep an eye on her but bring her in tomorrow (Bank Holiday Monday) I was still not offered any form of advice i.e. Keep her in a cool darkened room etc. I called the emergency number for the final time at 5.45pm as Meg was now fitting constantly, I was then told I'm sorry the vet is out on another call, when I asked what I should do I was told she would ring me when she had finished with the patient she was with. I was given no time estimation, so I was left with a dog in distress and pain. I couldn't see Meg being left like this so I took it upon myself to find another emergency out of hours practice, I rang Wear Referrals and within 20 minutes she was on the vets table being sedated to stop her fitting and put on a table with cooling fans (her temperature was 41.5) and in a dark room. The vet explained what he was doing and why throughout the appointment- he explained that due to Megs age it was unlikely to be a treatable disease and more likely to be a tumour on her brain, however, he still offered us blood tests confirm, which we did. The blood tests were run and within 40 mins we had the devastating results that her bloods were clear so there was no other option than to put her to sleep, which we did at 7pm. I know that the outcome would have been the same whichever vet Meg had seen but to receive a phone call from the emergency vet at 7pm - 1.30hrs after I had made the initial phone call was disgraceful. This would have meant Meg would have been fitting for that full time and in total distress. I cannot express enough how disappointed and upset I am with the service Meg didn't receive on that Sunday. I think you need to seriously address your out of hours procedures. I have another dog registered with yourselves(Izzy), however, I have now registered her with Gilmore vets as I wouldn't want her to suffer in the same way Meg could have. A brilliant, knowledgeable and caring group of staff. We have been using this practice for many years with all our animals as well as referring friends to them. Their care is second to none and even the out of hours care is onsite and cannot be faulted. We have also had to visit on New Years Day. It's a pity that they can't treat humans as they surpass any doctor I have been treated by!! Read Less

Husband and wife practice. Wife and other staff are great, knowledgable and empathetic, but exercise caution in taking your animal (cat in our case) to the husband. Good vets with a great "VIP" payment scheme that pays for your pet's vaccinations, flea and worm tablets and gets you four check ups a year. Like the people here but it's always busy and parking is a nightmare. Great if you live close by as we used to and as I say they're great vets, but others in the Durham area are more easily accessible Read Less

AVOID !!!!Couldn't jab my dog correctly put hole in his neck , Missed numerous things from a check up ,herna which was visible, Didn't have paper work for jabs. Didn't tell me microchip activation codes.
