At Companion Care we know your pet is a much loved part of the family and you want them to enjoy a long, healthy life. This is why our veterinary teams, made up of animal loving experts, firmly believe in providing the highest level of care and treating every pet they see like they would their own. Every Companion Care practice is equipped with the latest in technology, which means we can offer your pets the personalised care they need. Our practices are also designed to make your pet’s time with us as comfortable as possible; just like kids don’t always like going to the dentist, we know pets don’t always like going to the vets! Our waiting areas are light and spacious (and with floors that can cope with little accidents) and we also have separate dog and cat wards so your pet can recuperate more comfortably after any treatment. Our vets will explain all clinical terms so you fully understand what is happening to your pet and you are fully involved in their treatment plan. This also includes being completely transparent in our pricing, so you can make an informed choice on the treatment that you want your pet to receive. Come and see for yourself at your local Companion Care, why not take a practice tour?

Appalling service. DO NOT USE THESE VETS!! THERE ARE OTHER VETS IN CHESTERFIELD WITH A GOOD REPUTATION TRY CHAPEL HOUSE VETS INSTEAD. I have used companion care for ten years and the only time i had good service was when there was a locum vet we saw. Honestly i should have changed earlier but this requires taking all my pets for a consultation which is costly but im now doing exactly that! Today i wanted a prescription for flea collars for my cats and dog this was going to cost me 8.50 per prescription, a bit expensive but so be it. I asked for the large dog prescription for my dog as he is over 10kg which defines which collar i should use. The vet had written a prescription for the small collar. When i questioned this the vet stated i would need to book an appointment as he has not seen the dog recently. Basically he wanted me to pay him another 17.50 to weigh my dog!!! I would buy my pet supplies through the vet practice i use but each collar would have cost me another ten pounds to do this thus i was sourcing them myself which obviously the vet does not want me to do hence all this aggravation over the most common of problems - fleas. This vet has no idea of customer service and is just after as much money as possible from you presumably to pay the high rent costs imposed by Pets at Home to be based on their premises. Again Seriously don't waste your time build up a relationship with one of the other vets in Chesterfield as this Vet really doesn't care. Read Less

This surgery, has achieved something very difficult. Based in a superstore, you'd expect less caring, less personal treatment. Instead, it combines the ease of access of the big shop with the absolute professionalism and pleasantness of all staff: the vets and surgeons (my elderly dog's surgery went so well I swear he regained a couple of years of life, and the surgeon really showed he knew his stuff), the nurses and the reception staff. Whether for a big, emotional, scary issue as with my dog, or for smaller day to day issues as for a new kitten, dealing with them is ever pleasant, reassuring and efficient.
As any pet owner knows, that is what we need most. Read Less

Well after spending around 200+ after my cat had a temperature and wasn't his usual lively self. They gave our cat a course of antibiotics to treat a viral but was concerned our cat has a smaller kidney.
We agreed to have these tests which came back with bad news. The vet told us over the phone that our cat has high white blood cells and his kidney wasn't functioning well and wouldn't need further tests. We agreed to those too.. one test alone was 100. Which we was told would give us a final answer to what was wrong with our cat. It came back that we needed to have more tests as it wasn't clear. ( By this time our cat was back to normal self, eating playing, showing no signs of problems.)
Due to the further amount of money we was told would cost us for life medication and more tests.. plus our cat being fine. I took him to Spire vets for a second opinion. They said he was fine and that it would of just been as case of antibiotics to clear up a viral infection. As for his kidney being smaller. They had no concerns and in fact isn't that uncommon in cats.
2 years later he is still his happy, healthy self!
It is scary to think the amount of animals they diagnose wrong and the amount of money people spend here. What is more worrying .. how many animals have been put down that just had a viral infection? Read Less
