Cannot thank this practice enough for saving the life of our dog who suddenly became sick on Monday 4th March. She was referred to Scarsdale/ Pride on 8th March and seen by Marc D as our vets were unsure of the issues and recommended she needed a specialist. Marc was completely open with us about the odds of her surviving but told us what he hoped he could do for her. On the Friday she had become so ill, we were prepared to say goodbye to her as she was unable to breath witho...ut oxygen, but the lady on duty at 10pm called Marc, to help us decide, who answered (off duty) and recommended we wait to see how the night went. He was right, Marc rang us daily and we visited daily, and fast forward two weeks she was sent home. His trust and knowledge was unbelievable! Due to Ruby being so ill, and working, Marc allowed us to visit at night and as she couldn't walk we were allowed to go into the kennels and lay with her in there. There was a member of staff there tending to each dog on a rotation basis, checking monitors, food, cleaning them etc. Although our bill was the size of a deposit on a house, we have our dog home, and I truly believe that another practice would not have been able to treat her back to health. My beautiful boy was admitted as an emergency last week. Kate admitted him on Monday evening and had the difficult job of calling me on Tuesday night to tell me that Teddy hadn’t made it. I was devastated. Kate was completely empathetic and dealt with me in a polite, professional and sympathetic way. She allowed me time to be with Teddy and answered all my questions and wasn’t at all worried by my obvious distress. Then this morning I received this card together with Teddy’s paw prints. Such a thoughtful gesture. Thank you to everyone at Scarsdale who tried so hard to save by beautiful companion, and especially to Kate. I will always be grateful.

So the vet we saw over the Xmas period was lovely and very thorough. Can’t fault her. But- this huge veterinary practice has a number of major flaws. One- it is run as a major business, while we were there I heard a number of dogs screaming, literally screaming and no one was attending to them. It wasn’t just one dog. It was horrific. Two- the waiting areas were filthy- slime, blood, smears . If your dog wasn’t ill before being there it would be after sniffing round all the ...germs. Three- they have a massive sales area , literally filled with bleached and dyed dog chews. Which bit of the common knowledge about how many chemicals are involved in the process of creating these aberrations is this conglomerate ignoring??? I noted a number of chews from PRC, there is a growing body of evidence that these chews kill dogs on a regular basis. This is a cynical money making vet practice. They doubtless pay their young vets a pittance (my daughter is a vet, so I’m not ignorant of these things), and lets hope these talented, optimistic young vets and move on quickly to traditional, small , practices. Avoid practices that have been bought out by big corporate entities. They, unlike the overworked, underpaid young vets that have no choice but to work for them, don’t give a care for your animal’s welfare. If they did they wouldn’t be selling the extremely toxic, poisonous , dangerous products they do. This practice is about profit not animal welfare. Sad, because I remember Scarsdale before. Choose carefully. Investigate who owns your vet practices. And don’t buy ‘hide’ chews. See More

My dog was referred to this hospital with severe abdo pain and vomiting which my usual vets in Sheffield couldn’t find a cause for. From the moment we went in, each member of staff was incredibly helpful and kind. My dog saw a fantastic consultant called Caroline Kisielewicz, she was so calm and gentle with my pet and so knowledgable that I left her there in complete confidence, she gave me twice daily updates over the phone and when she called to say they needed to operate ...on her I was really worried but I knew that she would be so well looked after. As a nurse I was so shocked to walk in this place and realise that some hospitals for humans are not anyway near as good as this is for animals. It is spotlessly clean, has efficient and friendly staff on each desk, and has a team of consultants who are so efficient, knowledgeable and above all incredibly kind and gentle. We were invited to visit our pet as she was slow to recover and was fed up, we met her in a ‘quiet room’ it was just lovely to have that space and privacy with her. She cheered up a bit and we were allowed to take her home with us back to Sheffield that day (Christmas Eve) The staff got her prescriptions ready for us and nothing was too much trouble. It really made our Christmas being able to take her home with us, she was welcome to stay with them longer but we were very happy to take her and let her recover at home. She has continued to improve and is now back to her normal self. We cannot thank this practice enough, everything about this experience was positive and even if my pet had not recovered I would be happy knowing she was in the best place possible. I just wish we lived near so that we could go there every time we needed the care of a vet. Thank you to all the nurses who fussed her and cuddled her and to everyone who cared for her. For 6 months my dog has been back and forth to different referrals, given different medication and it has caused us a lot of stress trying to find out what was wrong with him. We heard of your reputation and demanded a referral here - and we're so glad we did! You diagnosed his problems within only 8 hours and although it wasn't the best news in the world, we can now give him the correct medication and make the necessary adjustments he needs in life. Thank you so much, particularly to Chris in Neurology for being so thorough, understanding and explaining everything in detail. We won't hesitate to bring him here again should he need it.

Discussing mark up ! The fact I've been asked via the telephone to remove this review speaks volumes, this is a review page for customers to leave good and bad reviews. The fact still remains your ripping people off that don't have free access to this information. Disgusting way of running a business. I can't fault the vets, the hydro or the specialist. I've been with Scarsdale for 9years and other than admin stuff my baby has always been looked after. They have the right people under one roof to assist with a multitude of problems and my boxer sure has those!! Skye (boxer) loves going to the vets and to hydro. They've also tested my tortoise and chicken!!! Not many vetenary pracitices can do such a range of animals. What a great team, ok they're not cheap but that's what my insurance is for! I wouldn't go anywhere else!!

Thought it was best to have the vet out late on Thursday night for my Horse, excellent service however I was told that a bill will be sent to me at the end of the month with then a few weeks to pay, however after a very rude phone call today it appears that 4 days before Xmas they want 300 pounds now, when I explained that this was not the information I had been given the woman stated I must be speaking to a different vets, no love I certainly haven't I know what I have been told and to have you ringing me telling me I am lying is just downright rude, will not be using again !!

A little worried that i heard a 18hh horse had a series accident in a 3.5t lorry jumping over the breast bar !! And your vet on call seems it ok to arrange for yet another 3.5t to collect this 18hh injured horse!! Very disappointed!! a 18hh horse should never of been in such a small lorry the owner should be ashamed of them self and the transport company who went on this call out knowing that they are breaking the law, and the vet claims that the 3.5t lorry is fine for a 18hh horse !! Defra requirements are 76cm from the top of the horses withers to the top of the lorry and still id say that is to small, a 7.5t lorry should of been called for the horses safety and comfort absolutely disgusted..

For 6 months my dog has been back and forth to different referrals, given different medication and it has caused us a lot of stress trying to find out what was wrong with him. We heard of your reputation and demanded a referral here - and we're so glad we did! You diagnosed his problems within only 8 hours and although it wasn't the best news in the world, we can now give him the correct medication and make the necessary adjustments he needs in life. Thank you so much, particularly to Chris in Neurology for being so thorough, understanding and explaining everything in detail. We won't hesitate to bring him here again should he need it.

Have taken all our dogs to the surgery in stapenhill and currently have our gsd there too. He's currently under dog behaviour classes to get over his fear of dog. And so far his doing great.

Complete rip off. 6 flea treatment pipettes 50 at allestree branch, checked online exactly the same product 21. However you do need a prescription to buy this product online. 15 at st Leonard vets for a 12 month supply, 18 at Scarsdale for a 6 months supply. 15 + 21.33 = 36.33. How do you get away with this. Discussing mark up ! The fact I've been asked via the telephone to remove this review speaks volumes, this is a review page for customers to leave good and bad reviews. The fact still remains your ripping people off that don't have free access to this information. Disgusting way of running a business. If this post is removed I will continue to post it as I feel that customers have a right to know, that your charging nearly double for your products.

Thorough examination resulted in finding of root cause and following treatment she came home to me that evening. Thankyou so much!

First time there. I took my pygmy goats for their first injections. The vet was really nice and helpful and showed me how to inject them so I can do it at home cheaper. Glad I joined them.

I can't fault the vets, the hydro or the specialist. I've been with Scarsdale for 9years and other than admin stuff my baby has always been looked after. They have the right people under one roof to assist with a multitude of problems and my boxer sure has those!! Skye (boxer) loves going to the vets and to hydro. They've also tested my tortoise and chicken!!! Not many vetenary pracitices can do such a range of animals. What a great team, ok they're not cheap but that's what my insurance is for! I wouldn't go anywhere else!!

Thought it was best to have the vet out late on Thursday night for my Horse, excellent service however I was told that a bill will be sent to me at the end of the month with then a few weeks to pay, however after a very rude phone call today it appears that 4 days before Xmas they want 300 pounds now, when I explained that this was not the information I had been given the woman stated I must be speaking to a different vets, no love I certainly haven't I know what I have been told and to have you ringing me telling me I am lying is just downright rude, will not be using again !!

A little worried that i heard a 18hh horse had a series accident in a 3.5t lorry jumping over the breast bar !! And your vet on call seems it ok to arrange for yet another 3.5t to collect this 18hh injured horse!! Very disappointed!! a 18hh horse should never of been in such a small lorry the owner should be ashamed of them self and the transport company who went on this call out knowing that they are breaking the law, and the vet claims that the 3.5t lorry is fine for a 18hh horse !! Defra requirements are 76cm from the top of the horses withers to the top of the lorry and still id say that is to small, a 7.5t lorry should of been called for the horses safety and comfort absolutely disgusted..
