A cleaner environment than most hospitals that I have worked in. Provides 24 hour emergency treatment. We feel that our dog is in good hands when he is admitted. After his operation, he seemed happy enough to be there and never frets on his return visits. Our dog hated going to his previous surgery but goes to Pride Park Vetinsry Centre as though it is a walk in the park. Cannot recommend the centre and it's staff highly enough. Read Less

May 18 Rather annoyingly I've had to make an edit to my previous 5 star rating. Since my last visit a few changes of the vets opinion have taken place which very frustratingly now means the insurance wouldn't pay out. Considerably out of pocket now but waiting for blood test results to come back I have waited all but days off 1 month. I have called to check whether the test results are back weekly only to be told the vet would call me back. No call had been received on any of the occasions so I called back once more today. Still no call from the vet on the confirmed best contact number yet they decided to ring on a different line speaking to my wife. During that call stated they need to send off the blood samples again as they had mistakenly carried out feline tests and not canine. £430 and now 4 follow up calls later I once again am yet to personally receive a call from the vet I have been told will be ringing me. To make matters worse I now need to wait a further week for these results . Let's hope that my dog doesn't continue to have multiple seizures whilst we wait for test results which take place in the same building to come back. This could well be a genuine mistake, however the after service from taking £430 in payment has so far been nothing short of disgraceful. Quite a turn around from my April review but just thought it may be helpful to some? April 18 What a great place, the staff here are extremely friendly and helpful. They have continually tried to keep me updated with the progress of an ongoing issue with my pet insurance company. The in house insurance handler even took a shorter lunch break just on the off chance my insurance company called back. Can't recommend these enough to be fair, the vet was very thorough in gathering the information from me and explained the diagnosis very well. Seeing Frances Taylor, the oncology vet. She is amazing. She has given my dog extra time with us while treating her with the utmost care and concern and explaining everything (sometimes more than once, as it can get overwhelming). She also communicates with my regular (holistic) vet regularly. The staff are very professional and were fabulous in helping me sort out the referral. Getting appointments is pretty easy also. I have had to use these vets on a number of occasions for some very serious illnesses with both my cats. On every visit I felt like we were in capable hands with knowledgeable vets, nurses and specialists. And the reception staff are lovely too. Communication was exceptional at all stages. Always friendly, always professional. Our dog had to go for a small op on his leg, they kept us informed all the way through the procedure and reassured us all the way, very sympathetic and understanding, the staff know your pet is part of your family and never make you feel rushed or that your in the way, we were worried about this with it being a chain but we needn't have the staff make the place and there simply amazing. We've been part of the VIP program for a few years now, very pleased with the price, saved us fortune on booster shots for our dog! Read Less

Not best pleased I was quoted one price for treatment when I dropped him off only to find that the price had doubled when I came to pick him up. I wouldn't have had a problem but it would have been nice for them to be upfront regarding costs. Read Less

Can't bring myself to give 5 (although it is probably deserved) because we had to leave without our puppy. Athey and us were treated brilliantly at a very difficult time. We were referred by our vet but were seen on the same day. Everything was explained very well and we were given a consult room for several hours while my partner traveled down to say goodbye. Complete rip off. 6 flea treatment pipettes 50 at allestree branch, checked online exactly the same product 21. However you do need a prescription to buy this product online. 15 at st Leonard vets for a 12 month supply, 18 at Scarsdale for a 6 months supply. 15 + 21.33 = 36.33. How do you get away with this. Discussing mark up ! The fact I've been asked via the telephone to remove this review speaks volumes, this is a review page for customers to leave good and bad reviews. The fact still remains your ripping people off that don't have free access to this information. Disgusting way of running a business. I can't fault the vets, the hydro or the specialist. I've been with Scarsdale for 9years and other than admin stuff my baby has always been looked after. They have the right people under one roof to assist with a multitude of problems and my boxer sure has those!! Skye (boxer) loves going to the vets and to hydro. They've also tested my tortoise and chicken!!! Not many vetenary pracitices can do such a range of animals. What a great team, ok they're not cheap but that's what my insurance is for! Thought it was best to have the vet out late on Thursday night for my Horse, excellent service however I was told that a bill will be sent to me at the end of the month with then a few weeks to pay, however after a very rude phone call today it appears that 4 days before Xmas they want 300 pounds now, when I explained that this was not the information I had been given the woman stated I must be speaking to a different vets, no love I certainly haven't I know what I have been told and to have you ringing me telling me I am lying is just downright rude, will not be using again !! A little worried that i heard a 18hh horse had a series accident in a 3.5t lorry jumping over the breast bar !! And your vet on call seems it ok to arrange for yet another 3.5t to collect this 18hh injured horse!! Very disappointed!! a 18hh horse should never of been in such a small lorry the owner should be ashamed of them self and the transport company who went on this call out knowing that they are breaking the law, and the vet claims that the 3.5t lorry is fine for a 18hh horse !! Defra requirements are 76cm from the top of the horses withers to the top of the lorry and still id say that is to small, a 7.5t lorry should of been called for the horses safety and comfort absolutely disgusted..
