We specialise in small animal care treating dogs, cats and other companions. We pride ourselves on our fantastic equipment and in-patient facilities. We have been established for over 70 years and are Derby's most centrally located practice.
We offer: Preventative Health Care (Vaccinations, Worm and Flea Prevention), Surgery, Dentistry, Pet Passports. On Site Cattery and Grooming Parlour. Plenty of Off Road Parking. Designated Cat Waiting Area and Cat Ward.
House Visits Including 'Budget' Visits On Thursdays

Update: They prove with every dealing that they are the best. The support they offered to my boy and us throughout his 18 months of illness has been exceptional. When the time came to say goodbye to him last year Nikya came to the house and made an awful experience bearable. I cannot thank them enough of recommend them enough.
I have nothing but great things to say about this place..!! No words would be enough to rate how wonderful they are. I have been taking my cat elsewhere for 6 months with the same problem to no good effect and he started getting worse. Took him to Saint Leonard's on New Year's Eve and they were fantastic..!! He is already getting back to his usual self. I am ever so grateful..!!

Myself and my parents sadly had to recently say goodbye to our old cat Toby, the service and care we received from James was absolutely brilliant. He made us feel at ease and took good care of our old boy in his last moments. Massive thank you to James and the whole team for always providing excellent care for our pets.

Lovely friendly staff, excellent place. Been a regular visitor with my many cats and every visit has been great. The vets gave me useful and detailed information about what had happened during surgery, offered advice about how to deal wth any issues going forward and even helped with the heavy lifting when i had my hands full after the appointment. I'd throughly recommend to anyone looking for a surgery. Keep up the good work

We can only echo all the positive comments already posted. We recently had to have our elderly border collie, Jodie, put to sleep and Karl and Maraide were v compassionate to us in our distress whils...
We can only echo all the positive comments already posted. We recently had to have our elderly border collie, Jodie, put to sleep and Karl and Maraide were v compassionate to us in our distress whilst giving us confidence that we were doing the right thing.
Our other dog, Cassie, gets v nervous when in the surgery and tries to bite all the vets! However, they are all v patient and understanding and handle her brilliantly.
Our dogs have had excellent treatment over the years with thorough after care and even phone calls home to check on their progress. All the team are friendly and v caring.
Our new puppy is now registered here - we wouldn't think of going anywhere else.

The best thing we did for our dog last June was to change to the Allestree branch from another local vet. Karl and the team, particularly Miaraid were wonderful and gave our beloved Barney an extra lease of life. They showed great care and kindness. Sadly this only lasted until Christmas when we had to make the worse possible decision. Karl showed great compassion and he made us feel confident that we had made the right decision. We found Karl and his wonderful team at Saint Leonards and lost our beautiful chocolate boy Hugo on the same day last week. Sadly Hugo was very ill with cancer and we had to make the heartbreaking decision to put him to sleep. Karl was amazing and we couldn't have wished for a more caring, compassionate vet to help Hugo and us in such difficult circumstances. I cannot praise St Leonard's enough!!.. Absolutely amazing service with affordable costs, I took my cat in for a second opinion, the treatment he got was 1st class, the lovely vet dotty saw how ill he was, whisked him away for an x-Ray and got me an emergency appointment with a cardiologist the very next morning!... My cat is now on tablets for however long he has left, we can see improvements each day and we can see he's more comfortable which means thanks to dotty we will hopefully have him with us for a while yet!

When mum's dog Hollie ate some poison once , they were fantastic with her, and still are . She's now got to lose weight ( the little pudding) and is being looked after by Alison, had a little scare with her but everything is fine now,
And we must not forget the lovely Anne she had a heart of gold so good with all if us.

After having a really bad experience with another vet having my dearly loved cat put to sleep I was quite worried about taking my pets to a vet again. Karl and his team have restored my faith in vets. They are kind and knowledgeable and do everything for the welfare of the animal. Their customer service is amazing and not forced. Genuinely nice people doing a sterling job. They are always happy to help. They are happy to answer queries on the phone before animal is treated or assessed which in my panicked state helped me no end. Fantastic practice. Great staff. A happy cat and owner thanks to them. Both my cats go there and the staff are always very helpful, i get everything explained to me in great detail and the aftercare is fantastic, you can tell they really do care! i have recently got a puppy and took her down to get her jabs, she was a bit nervous at first but our vet, Karl, calmed her down and she was great.

Brilliant practise! The vets are brilliant at their jobs. The nurses, receptionists and other members of staff are all so helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them! Definitely recommend it!

I cannot praise St Leonard's enough!!.. Absolutely amazing service with affordable costs, I took my cat in for a second opinion, the treatment he got was 1st class, the lovely vet dotty saw how ill he was, whisked him away for an x-Ray and got me an emergency appointment with a cardiologist the very next morning!... My cat is now on tablets for however long he has left, we can see improvements each day and we can see he's more comfortable which means thanks to dotty we will hopefully have him with us for a while yet!

The whole team at St Leonard's are fabulous, nothing is ever to much trouble. Wouldn't take my Oscar anywhere else,

When mum's dog Hollie ate some poison once , they were fantastic with her, and still are . She's now got to lose weight ( the little pudding) and is being looked after by Alison, had a little scare with her but everything is fine now,
And we must not forget the lovely Anne she had a heart of gold so good with all if us.

After having a really bad experience with another vet having my dearly loved cat put to sleep I was quite worried about taking my pets to a vet again. Karl and his team have restored my faith in vets. They are kind and knowledgeable and do everything for the welfare of the animal. Their customer service is amazing and not forced. Genuinely nice people doing a sterling job. They are always happy to help. They are happy to answer queries on the phone before animal is treated or assessed which in my panicked state helped me no end. Fantastic practice. Great staff. A happy cat and owner thanks to them. Thank you Toni and Luna the cat x

Saint Leonard Vets are wonderful. The surgery is always clean and it's nice to have separate waiting areas for dogs and cats. Karl knowledge around all the problems my dog has had is very comforting and he always takes his time to make sure I understand what is going on. The parking is convenient and prices very reasonable. Would definitely recommend this vets.

Lovely vets practice. Both my cats go there and the staff are always very helpful, i get everything explained to me in great detail and the aftercare is fantastic, you can tell they really do care! i have recently got a puppy and took her down to get her jabs, she was a bit nervous at first but our vet, Karl, calmed her down and she was great.

Brilliant practise! The vets are brilliant at their jobs. The nurses, receptionists and other members of staff are all so helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them! Definitely recommend it!
