Victoria Vets

High Peak, Derbyshire
General Info
At Victoria Veterinary Centre our aim is to provide the highest standard of care for all pets and their owners. All our staff take pride in treating every animal as if it were their own. It is important to everyone that our clients trust the work done here and are comfortable with the 'bedside manner' and the services offered.
We believe that clients (both patients and owners) value seeing familiar faces. Whenever possible, we will arrange that your pet is seen by the same vet each visit to ensure continuity of service. All our veterinary and nursing staff work as a team to maintain the highest standards of care at all times, so there will always be a dedicated person available to provide any treatment your pet needs.
Our own vets cover our own emergency night and weekend work, unlike many other vet practices in our area, who hand over their emergency work to others. If you have an emergency, you will be seen by the same familiar friendly vets and nurses you know, in a practice you know. You wont have to travel any further than Glossop. All our emergency work is carried out at Victoria Vet Centre in Glossop or at our branch surgery in Chapel-en-le-Frith.

Unfortunately my review is not a positive one.been with Victoria vets since 1998 and,in my opinion,it's never been so careless about the animals itself as it's now- what a shame!the people I still appreciate are receptionists, nurses and Fiona from the vets- all other vets I ve seen- and believe me with more than 2 pets in household I ve seen a few of them- they would not care less!what has happened to the brilliant surgery after management and ownership changed?!!!I am still waiting for the call to diagnose my dog- and it's from July!it's disgusting how you treat your customers-never mind one of the vets told us that it's not us who pays you but insurance company -it's not his business!!!I am not even sorry if it sounds rude-staying with this surgery for so long does say that we did like it until last few years!I hope that management EVENTUALLY will get in touch with us- don't even try to ring me or house number, but ring my husband- I am too angry with your service to speak to you with respect Rebecca!never mind that my dog is in constant pain and that vet who initially xrayed him- later said he had no experience in xraying or whatever he meant-offered us tramadol- without diagnose?prescribe this tramadol to your pet if you don't know the side effects it causes!this vet surgery became a joke!Read Less

They told a friend of mine that rabbits are solo animals and don't like companions Owhen in fact they are an extremely sociable species and thrive when neutered and living with a friend. I suggest this practice joins the rabbit welfare association and fund (RWAF) to improve their knowledge of rabbit welfare, as it's just luck he asked me about it after seeing you. How many rabbits are out there living lonely, solitary lives because of bad veterinary advice that they didn't question? Read Less

During a 3-month period of sickness for my dog I saw 3 different vets (and spoke to another on the phone) who gave me contrasting and contradictory advice on how to resolve the problem. It got to a point where one vet was criticising the advice given by another! The only consistent advice they gave was to give her an anti-sickness injection (at 50 a time) which only ever gave short-term relief. I took my dog to another vet who diagnosed the problem with just 2 visits following a logical and methodical approach to the issue. She has not had a days sickness since! Although Victoria Vets do have some staff who really care for, and are knowledgeable about, the animals who visit their practice, I seriously question - based on my experience - whether the knowledge of all of their vets is at the standard their prices and reputation demands.Read Less

We had to make the agonising decision to let our two older boxers, Max and Kim, go to sleep for the last time this last week. I would like to thank and praise Victoria Vets for their normal and out of ours service at this very hard time for our Family. Special thanks to Fiona Naden for caring for Max sympathetically to our wishes regarding his treatment and understanding those same wishes when Kim was diagnosed with the same condition. Also an extra massive thanks for the gorgeous card of sympathy received today, which has had me in floods of tears again!! Thank you. X Read Less

My Jack Russell bitch is 13 years old now and has had a very healthy life so far, so when I found a lump 3 weeks ago I feared the worst. I noticed it over a weekend and when I rang Monday morning she had an appointment with in the hour. She was listed for theatre before the end of the week and I'm pleased to say, she has fully recovered. I was really impressed with the first vet I saw. She gave me all the information to make an informed decision and was really kind to "Millie". I found all the other staff equally kind and helpful (vet nurses, reception and the last vet I saw for our final appointment). Wouldn't take my pets anywhere else. Thanks !! Read Less
