I called first thing in the morning because my dog was in a lot of pain. They told me they couldn't see her until 5pm despite hearing her crying in the background. I called another vet and they told me my vet had a duty of care to see an animal in pain. I called back and reminded them of this and they agreed to see me. When I got there I was the only customer and they were passive aggressive. This was after more than 10 years as a customer, in an emergency. Expect to be upsold on all treatments and talked down to.

Ark Vets have always taken great over our two cats and th staff are lovely. We were especially grateful for David’s quick diagnosis of an over-active thyroid, resulting in a successful operation this week. Ark have been exceptionally helpful with all our dogs. We work gundogs (also compete in agility) and need a sensible and honestly priced vet. David doesn't ever give meds when not required and always gives us options. He, and the whole practise, have been supportive, kind, sensibly priced and sympathetic approach. He has been amazing with help, advice and check ups on our litters. Would happily recommend them, why else would we travel past 7 other vets and 25 mile round trip?! 5*

David is one of the most experienced small animal vets in Exeter. He is also one of the kindest vets, and in our recent experience with our guinea pigs, he has helped us immensely.
I cannot bestow a higher praise on David and the team at Ark Vets. They don't have a social media account, so I couldn't mention them or make nice noises about them publicly, but this is the next best platform.
Through the problems we had been having with all our guinea pigs, he has been immensely supportive. He has given time to us as well as being incredibly thorough. If you need a vet in Exeter, this vet the the vet you need.

As a responsible, registered breeder I feel compelled to bring peoples attention to the poor service/negligence provided at this veterinary practice. Although I have not got any personal experience with Ark Vets I feel I should share this. I breed English bull terriers and send them to their forever homes with every possible health check available. I had the pleasure to home a new boy to a previous customer in Exeter. I took my pups to my local vets for their first inoculation and full health check. The pups were all perfect. We were confident that they could go to their forever homes. Ace, went to his.When he did, his new owners took him to ark vets and he was examined by David Rudman. He concluded that ace had a 2/6 systolic heart murmur and also that he was overshot. He also commented on a skin complaint ace had and prescribed him anti biotics. Sadly aces owners decided to return him to us, causing an unnecessary amount of distress to them as they had small children. At the first opportunity we returned to our veterinary practice with ace upset and maybe a bit angry that they had, despite knowing that our livelihood depended on it, missed these issues. They immediately gave him the full check over. He passed with flying colours. We got the three veterinary practitioners on duty to check just in case. Absolutely no detection of a heart murmur! Very happy with the mouth development ( the bull terriers head grows rapidly and changes shape completely so for a vet to comment on this before six months is very unusual.). Also they concluded that the skin condition/rash ace was probably an allergic reaction. They did express their concerns that ace had been prescribed Rilexine at his young age with out proper diagnosis, when he required antihistamines and is now doing fantastic. I believe that my veterinary practice has been in touch with ark vets to resolve this matter. I would personally advise David Rudman to research his breeds. Cost not only us, but our friends in monitary terms, but also emotionally. Avoid at all costs!!!!!!.

I previously belonged to Crane & Moore vets in heavitree. I was with them for several years and was always happy with the service they provided. They then became City Vets and I felt they lost that 'personal touch' and seemed more interested in making money then anything else. In my search for another vet, I found Ark vets and took my dog to see them. My dog had a lot of problems, he was very unpredictable, did not like being handled, and was a challenge to say the least.. I was amazed at how patient and caring David was with my dog, and how willing he was to spend extra time with him trying to gain his trust. I was so impressed that within weeks I registered ALL of my animals with David. I have been with Ark vets for a few years now and I always get a very warm and friendly welcome from them all, as do my animals. Their service is second to none, they provide that personal touch that so many vets are lacking these days.You are always greeted with a genuine smile, your pets are always greeted with a pat on the head and a tasty treat. If you're looking for a veterinary practice that has your pets best interests at heart, then look no further.

Brilliant service David took the trouble to find a cure for my lurcher Chad he has had problems with back and front paws for nearly two years on and off and nothing or no vet seemed to know the answer after only two visits he was given the right treatment and is now a very happy dog again , thanks only to David who took the time and care to find out what Chads problem was . I will certainly recommend arc vets to all my friends . Very friendly staff.

David doesn't ever give meds when not required and always gives us options. He, and the whole practise, have been supportive, kind, sensibly priced and sympathetic approach. Brilliant service David took the trouble to find a cure for my lurcher Chad he has had problems with back and front paws for nearly two years on and off and nothing or no vet seemed to know the answer after only two visits he was given the right treatment and is now a very happy dog again , thanks only to David who took the time and care to find out what Chads problem was . I will certainly recommend arc vets to all my friends . Very friendly staff.
