I have been taking my cats to the Heavitree branch for about four years, after a couple of distressing experiences with another vet. The front desk staff, nurses, and vets are all really nice people and care about the animals they treat. I mainly see Sean; he is really knowledgeable and kind and discusses my cats' health with me without being in the least bit patronising. I recently met Nigel, who works there on some weekends; he is a very kind man, was very thorough during the consultation, and genuinely seemed to care about my cat's health. The cardiologist who comes to the practice is also compassionate, kind, and caring. One of my cats needed a heart scan recently and I was really worried and hadn't slept the night before; she made a point of ringing me a soon as she could to let me know the results and explained them thoroughly (drawing diagrams of the heart to show me exactly what was happening) when I went to collect my cat. The most impressive thing for me is that they don't take your pet away to do things like taking blood (I always wondered whether my previous vet was doing something they would rather I didn't see, and sadly, later found out that this was the case when they took blood from my cat and things went wrong). The same cat has to have regular blood tests now, and the last time she had blood taken, I held her while Sean took blood, and she was relaxed and calm during the procedure. She has been quite nervous about going to the vet since the experience at my previous vet, so this meant a lot to me. I absolutely recommend City Vets without reservation! If they did people as well as animals, I'd be happy to be treated by them! Read Less
