CityVets

Exeter, Devon
General Info

Our Animal Hospital in Heavitree is run by owner and veterinary surgeon Shaun Moore and CityVets partner, veterinary surgeon Ed Pattison, alongside a team of experienced nursing and reception staff. We are friendly, dedicated and passionate about the care of our client’s pets. We like to develop a close professional relationship with our clients, so that they know and trust us to provide the very best healthcare for their pets. In 2013  CityVets Heavitree branch moved from its old site to Rosary House, which has been totally refurbished to a very high standard as expected of a large, modern, fully equipped Veterinary Hospital. With staff on site 24 hours a day we can provide the best possible care for your pets. We provide all the routine and non routine services expected of a well established first opinion practice as well as advanced surgical procedures through Ed Pattison and specialist physiotherapy, Ophthalmology (Eyes), Imaging (X-rays, ultrasound and MRI), Exotics (Birds, reptiles and small furries) and Cardiology (Heart) Services. We are conveniently situated at the top of Heavitree on a major road into Exeter City centre, with parking in our private car park right in front of the surgery.

Being new to the area, we were really confused to who to take our rabbit to. We rung at about 09:45am and were told we could have an appointment for 12:00pm. We were warned that the 'exotic pet specialist' was not in today, however she would only be a phone call away if needed. On arrival we were seen within 5 minutes by Caroline, who tended to Xena (Our rabbit). She was very friendly and professional, we were very happy with how Xena was complimented and she was in great hands with Caroline. We were in and out within 25 minutes with a massive weight off our shoulders and thankful we found a great vet within 25mins drive too. We are really thankful and we look forward to use your services again and again, knowing she is getting the best care. Kindest Regards, Bryan, Kelly & Xena. Read Less

I had my first visit at Heavitree City vets yesterday with my terrified dog and the care given to me and the dog was excellent from the reception staff right through to the vet. I can not praise them enough. extra time was given for her appointment due to her nerves, I have been offered to keep going back to 'visit' just to show my dog around and to build her confidence, the vet explained my dogs condition to me in depth with no feeling I had to get out quick. Having recently moved from a practice because they didn't have a hospital and city vets does I can say they went above and beyond what I expected. Read Less

I have been taking my cats to the Heavitree branch for about four years, after a couple of distressing experiences with another vet. The front desk staff, nurses, and vets are all really nice people and care about the animals they treat. I mainly see Sean; he is really knowledgeable and kind and discusses my cats' health with me without being in the least bit patronising. I recently met Nigel, who works there on some weekends; he is a very kind man, was very thorough during the consultation, and genuinely seemed to care about my cat's health. The cardiologist who comes to the practice is also compassionate, kind, and caring. One of my cats needed a heart scan recently and I was really worried and hadn't slept the night before; she made a point of ringing me a soon as she could to let me know the results and explained them thoroughly (drawing diagrams of the heart to show me exactly what was happening) when I went to collect my cat. The most impressive thing for me is that they don't take your pet away to do things like taking blood (I always wondered whether my previous vet was doing something they would rather I didn't see, and sadly, later found out that this was the case when they took blood from my cat and things went wrong). The same cat has to have regular blood tests now, and the last time she had blood taken, I held her while Sean took blood, and she was relaxed and calm during the procedure. She has been quite nervous about going to the vet since the experience at my previous vet, so this meant a lot to me. I absolutely recommend City Vets without reservation! If they did people as well as animals, I'd be happy to be treated by them! Read Less
