While I was on holiday one of my cats was taken ill the lovely people at the cattery rushed him to this practice as it is where he was registered There they were appalled at how the main concern was who was paying, and extremely distressed to be kept waiting in excess of 20 minutes while my cat lay dying in front of them.  Unfortunately I was abroad, but totally distressed when contacted by the vets to be asked how I wanted to arrange transportation of my cat to the vetinary hospital in Bristol to see if there was anything that could be done.  Again the wonderful cattery people stepped up and got him to Bristol but to no avail.  I have paid all the fees and asked the vets to send in the insurance claim (I also supplied the envelope) ten days later NOTHING received by insurance company. To the team at Abbotskerswell vetinary centre I would just like to pass on my thanks for the laparoscopic surgery performed on my male German shepherd yesterday. I chose to use this procedure again following the successful surgery on my female shepherd. I am amazed at the recovery time, both dogs were back to normal the following day and showed no signs of discomfort. In my opinion the keyhole surgery outclasses normal surgery in every aspect. I will recommend laparoscopic surgery to all my friends particularly at Abbotskerswell Vetinary Centre where the welfare of the pet and skill of the surgeons appears second to none. Many thanks Mark Bond (and a very happy Bear!)Read Less

I took my cat into this vet when my cat appeared unwell. I left absolutely fuming. The vet I saw ran off a list of things that he thought was wrong with him and what it would cost, what he was saying was my cat was on death's door. When I said I do not have the money to pay for all the treatment he was suggesting he said well have you considered having him put down. this cat has been part of my life for 15 years so no this was not an option. I said give him a shot of anti-biotics and see what happens. He did this insisting that he thought this would not cure him long term. I thought all along that it was his teeth causing the problem. Well he is now perfectly fit and healthy again. If I was stupid enough to not follow my instincts and listen to what the vet said my beautiful cat would be pushing up daisies by now. I would never use this vet ever again and if you value the life of your pets you wouldn't either.Read Less

Oh dear, oh dear, if you love your animal, do not under any circumstances take it here. This is not the place for your animal to be treated in the way you would expect. Dis-interested vet and highly unprofessional and confused business support staff.  Once payment has been taken they will not even worry about the follow up appointments, not if you paid for them in advance., like we stupidly did. They have left my pet without even knowing if the major surgery was successful. Wiggling out of their job and ignoring you after the cheque has cleared. There are PLENTY of other vets out there. There should be some kind of law against cowboys like this!  I have felt so disgusted by this "practice" that if let forced to leave some kind of review, something I never do.
