Its reassuring if not slightly concerning that we may visit too frequently; but with Chief being my first dog I am constantly reassured by how well he is looked after and appreciate the advice and guidance we receive. Chief is known for his enthusiasm as soon as we walk through the door and although they have many clients the vet always seems to remember what we've previously discussed. Very happy with the vet, she was amazing, thank you. However, Pookie has never been in a basket and is always on a harness and leash, but the receptionist wouldn't let me bring her in "just in case a dog wasn't happy, and it is practice policy". Even though I explained she has always been okay and dogs have never caused a problem, even those that barked at her. The other practice always allow her in and there has never been a problem. We were made to sit in the car for 45 minutes instead. Please, listen to your patients owners, they after all know their pets and how to control them. Read Less

Vet Richard and Vet Kath I would like to say thank you for being so kind to me and my dog Lucy, making Lucy feel relaxed when nervous. Especially in the last year when she needed so much more care for her arthritis, 2 tumours and loss of one eye in an accident. And when the time came for her to say goodbye, although it was hard for me to let go, I appreciate the gentle way Vet Lily and nurse Jade made Lucy's passing comfortable and peaceful at home just where she wanted to be, surrounded by people who loved her. On moving to Torbay in 1988 one of my priorities was to find a good local vet. The Silverton practice was recommended to me and I have been taking my much loved pets to them ever since. Firstly to their Paignton branch then Torquay where you can always be sure of a welcoming smile and some good advice. Firstly from Sue who has the most amazing memory for us all and our pets. She is both very approachable and knowledgeable but more importantly incredibly kind and understanding as are the vets who I have had the good fortune to have take care of my animals over the years. Cath and Richard are both excellent veterinarians and have a way of putting both patients and owners at ease, whatever the situation. I have changed Doctors several times through the years but never vets. I would highly recommend the Silverton Practice to anyone and everyone who wants the very best for their loyal companions. This year my cat has decided he liked fighting, was going to the vets monthly with open wounds etc, and then in sept /October he had a really bad fight and was in a bad way.The receptionist Sue in the Torquay practice was always helpful ,supportive and worth her weight in gold, I wouldn't have coped without her and her advice always at the end of the phone and never felt anything was to much for her. Lily is the bestest vet and I know my little man will always be in good hands ,he's as comfortable with her as he is at home with us. I would always recommend the practice to friends and family ,they go above and beyond in their jobs and for that I am grateful, as without them I don't think I would have my boy sat here on my lap while I am writing this . After months of problems with my dog and my old vets being useless we finally signed up to this vets and had the best service today she really listened to us and finally gave us some great advice we have changed our dogs food now to help his skin and been given some treatment for him and already 12hrs on he is already so much better and not chewing his feet as much, we are so happy after months of seeing our dog suffer we have finally had the help we needed and will certainly recommend them to everyone really am extremely happy can't say thank you enough :D Read Less
