Damory Veterinary Clinic is a modern country veterinary practice providing care for all animal species in Dorset. We have been supplying veterinary services from Damory Lodge in Blandford Forum for over 80 years. We have three dedicated veterinary teams providing experienced care for small animals (pets), horses and farm animals. Each team are supported by our veterinary nursing and support staff so that if your animal requires routine care or emergency treatment, we have experience and expertise in each of our veterinary departments.

Over a week ago my mother phoned Damory regarding a cut on our dogs head, we were told by reception to send a picture of the cut (challenging considering the amount of fur and that at the time it was just a small cut that kept opening up!) but we emailed them the picture and shortly after we received a call back. Unfortunately, the lady on reception hadn’t realised the phone had been answered and could be heard saying ‘I’m just phoning her back, she sent a photo but it’s absolutely useless so it’s not like we could see anything’ Eventually the receptionist realised that my Mother was on the other end of the phone and it was left that she would continue to treat the cut at home.
The cut did not heal so today we took the dog to Damory to see the vet in person. Despite being constantly corrected she continued to call our dog ‘he’ & ‘him’, more preoccupied with weighing HER than checking the cut.
Some fur was shaved so that the vet could see the cut and she announced that the cut had got larger as it was now infected, apparently this is very common in Golden Retrievers (one would think that knowing this they would have been prompted to do something when we first phoned!) Our dog has been prescribed anti-biotics and we have been advised to continue bathing the wound in salt water (as we already have been doing). You can’t help but wonder if the bill would’ve been considerably lower had Damory acted appropriately before the cut became infected.
We have moved our other pets away from Damory but kept our Golden Retriever there due to how great David Harding was with our last dog, safe to say we will now be changing!

Me and my partner took our cat Bruce Wayne into Damory as he was suffering a swollen leg and was shaking for 3 days. Damory have been first class from the offset, very helpful, professional and they do what they say they will. The customer service was some of the best service I have ever seen. I couldn’t praise them enough and will certainly take our pets here from now on. A big thank you to Damory for helping Bruce with his infection, we are happy to have him home!

What a super vets! The service, support and advice is excellent and they are just so lovely to my dog, I wouldn't take him anywhere else. The nursing staff are fantastic particularly the head nurse Mandy who is clearly exceptionally trained and skilled. Nothing is too much trouble for Kevin the Practice Manager who is always so polite and professional.

I have been using Damory Veterinary Clinic for over 5 years, and I would highly recommend them.
They offer a professional friendly service and I have found them to be kind and considerate towards my pets and to me.
One of my pets was extremely poorly and the support and guidance I received was exceptional, I was even sent a condolence card, which was personally written, and which I have kept to this date.
The little touches mean a lot when you have concerns about a beloved pet. Thank you to all the staff who work in the small animal department at Blandford

Very efficient and dedicated veterinary clinic. Star quality customer service and understanding staff. Couldn't thank them enough for everything that they've ever done for any of my pets; Especially saving my puppy Doogie from potentially fatal parvovirus. After years of our accident prone cat Bobby fighting through all these different issues, prominently bladder problems, he sadly succumbed to cancer after reaching a grand old age. Cesar treated him with empathy and respect in his final moments, giving us the chance to say goodbye and reassuring us during the difficult time. Thank you all for being such a fantastic team and I will always use you as a veterinary clinic down to the high level of care we've always received from you.

Having used Damory for years for our various pets, we were never disappointed. The care they take and the love they give is exceptional. We were without pets for a few years and recently came back to them. After a simple phone call they reacted with urgency as it could have been life threatening unbeknown to us. Just shows the amazing communication between reception and vets. If only doctors could be the same! Thank you Damory, you are amazing x

Can't praise this veterinary clinic enough! Always fantastic service and will get your pets in at very short notice. Its always hard to find vets that are knowledgeable when it comes to rabbits and with having 5, we have visited the clinic a few times now and have been so impressed each time we've been in. We've used several vets over the years with our bunnies but these guys are by far the best! Thank you :)

I'd recommend anyone taking their animals to this practice. Being open 24/7 also means you don't get directed to another practice is your animals need car outside of daylight hours.

I used Damory for the first time yesterday after they were recommended by a friend. Very impressed, Mel arrived within 30 mins of us calling to treat my horse despite me not even being registered with the clinic. She was very kind and sympathetic and remained calm when my horse decided he didn't want to be jabbed! I will definitely be using Damory again after such fantastic service.

Shame there are not six stars. David Harding felt a mass in Charlie, our 13 year old Labrador. Dread sets in. He suggested an ultrasound. This was arranged very quickly. I then received a call to say that there was a growth on his spleen. David outlined the risks, but gave me the confidence to say do your best. Felt like a pregnant father awaiting the baby until the phone rang. All great news, massive lump but removed. Later tests proved benign. He is a new dog, back to mischievous behaviour. Sparkly and hopefully his full entitlement of life. We love him so much. So many many thanks to all at Damory. Dave Harding, what can I say? I won't because hopefully you know how we feel. Thank you

Me and my partner took our cat Bruce Wayne into Damory as he was suffering a swollen leg and was shaking for 3 days. She was very kind and sympathetic and remained calm when my horse decided he didn't want to be jabbed! I will definitely be using Damory again after such fantastic service.

Thank you all so much for saving my darling Reggie , he was admitted on Tuesday in a poorly way , after an X-ray it showed a blockage in his intestines, turned out to be a peach stone , you removed it and he is now recovering at home much to the delight of his brother Ralphy. Shame there are not six stars. David Harding felt a mass in Charlie, our 13 year old Labrador. Dread sets in. He suggested an ultrasound. This was arranged very quickly. I then received a call to say that there was a growth on his spleen. David outlined the risks, but gave me the confidence to say do your best. Felt like a pregnant father awaiting the baby until the phone rang. All great news, massive lump but removed. Later tests proved benign. He is a new dog, back to mischievous behaviour. Sparkly and hopefully his full entitlement of life. We love him so much. So many many thanks to all at Damory. Dave Harding, what can I say? I won't because hopefully you know how we feel. Thank you
