I took my dog Molly has she had a small wart on her paw, now each year I used to get 2 free consultations, the get looked at her paw and said this needs to come off. The manager whom I shall not name came back to me with a total of what this would cost, she then had her thumb over the price and refused to show me how much this would come to. Anyway she eventually moved her thumb and the price was £550 , I went to get a second opinion from another vets they took a swab from the wart to see if there was any need to remove this. And surprisingly she didn't have to have this removed and it only cost me £60. Anyway the story of this they tried to charge me £28 for the consultant fee when I had 2 free consultants left, we had a pet plan with these vets my wife went in to get my dogs usual flee and worming and she was refused. I went down and they said until we paid the £28 we were unable to have anything we had been on the plan for a while so these had been paid for and the thing they were charging me was nothing to do with the pet plan. I eventually had to contact the so called big boss who was in Surrey and he had agreed this had been handled terribly and that I had still got free consultations . I had no apology from the manager of this vets and yes she still kept sending me a bill for this amount even though she had been told this was wrong . I for one was totally baffled and at no stage did I receive an apology from these vets. All I can say is these people were totally out of order and please guys get a second opinion if you are given a price £63 is slitless than £550 for something she never had to have done I will be taking this alot further. Being a Vet is a tough job. A good Vet helps get the best result for the pet; a great Vet gets the best result for the pet and the owner. Having the people skills as well as the Veterinarian skills is a rare and valued combination. We recently had our beloved cat, Mickey, put to sleep because of failing kidneys. There's no more difficult situation to handle than this. However, Lorna Kavanagh was compassionate with both Mickey and with his tearful owners. Whilst we are still very sad, I can't think of any way that this situation could have been handled with more care, compassion, and professionalism. We are grateful for Lorna's kindness at a dark time. Read Less

Our dog became unwell on a journey to Dorset, she had a heart murmur, but collapsed at the end of the journey. We brought her here to Upton veterinary surgery where the staff swiftly focused on treating her. Sadly due to the severity of her heart condition they could not save her. The staff were fantastic in not just the care of our cavalier King Charles spaniel, Sophie but is her distraught owners. Thank you for your kindness, empathy and understanding. Love the vets here, specially Lyndsay who is so loving and patient with our cats despite my Felix not being very good (lack of a better word ;-) ) with going to vets. She didn't mind giving him a minute to calm down first and she's been really good with all 4 cats we've brought in between my friend and myself. Never feel rushed and always feels like they genuinely care :) Read Less
