Unfortunately my dog got in to a viscous fight on Sunday evening around 8.30pm, ear was pretty torn! Under checking online as long as bathed with warm salt water and dressed we had 24hours to see the vet! Phone cumbers ( my vet) at 8am the following Monday morning to get him booked in. I was told by the rude and to the point receptionist that they couldn’t see him until later that afternoon as they where busy. I wasn’t expecting an app half an hour later! I stated he is in a little pain now so that’s to long to leave him in this heat so would have to try and get him into another vets. Her reply was ok fine then she hung straight up. I phoned Moorcroft at 8.30 and explained the situation, our dog was booked in to see a vet at 9am! Although an expensive operation followed Moorcroft where absolutely fantastic, extremely friendly and couldn’t of been more helpful to us. We have now transferred all of our pets to Moorcroft on Dorchester rd. Thanks cumbers. We won’t be requiring your services anymore. Peter D. Read Less

It comes with great regret that I am having to write this letter to you. I would like to make a formal complaint against the Chickerell Surgery. No doubt the staff in the surgery will be putting there points across to you. Here goes! I phoned up approximately 4 weeks ago and made an appointment with your receptionist for Saturday 27th of January at 11.15 to see the lady that deals with grooming of cats. I needed my Persian cat washed, groomed and trimmed. I was informed that the appointment would cost either £35.00 if not anesthetized or £90.00 if I would like him anesthetized. I opted for him to be asleep so not to traumatize him. The receptionist was fine with this and booked me in. Not mentioning anything about having to contact the lady direct or that there would need to be a pre health check first! I arranged a day off work to be able to make the appointment. On the day I even phoned in the morning to confirm that the appointment was still okay to go ahead as I had booked so far in advance. I was informed no problem all okay. When I arrived at your surgery the lady sat at the desk on the dog side did not even acknowledge me so I stood there for a few minutes until another lady came out a signed me in. Your staff were not at all welcoming! I was called into my appointment by a lady who looked like a veterinary which I was surprised by. On entering the room the lady asked what needed cutting of. I replied I haven’t come here for you to just trim a few knots, I have arranged for him to be washed, trimmed and generally tidied up. She then replied I am not a groomer, which I did suspect! I explained that I had made the appointment for a groomer not a vet! She knew nothing about it and said that I was supposed to contact the groomer myself. What would be the point in that. Why would I phone her when your receptionist had confirmed the appointment with me. It seems that your receptionist did not know what she was doing. Not only have I lost a whole days wage but I starved my poor cat all night and morning as I thought he was going to be anesthetized. Then he was traumatized by having to travel there and back in a carrier for no reason!! You can imagine how frustrated, annoyed and disappointed I am. After sending this letter to their customer service team, the lady said all we can do is offer an apology and learn from our mistakes!! Read Less
