My cat was to get a biopsy for her mouth and head as she had tumours (the one on her head she had and got drained for almost 2 years). They thought it was cancerous and after the biopsy operation they failed to put a cone collar round my cats head and she ripped out a stitch and nearly bled to death which the vet was about to put her to sleep, due to the vet luckily he decided to take her in and try and stop the bleeding and that’s when he found out she took the stitch out. We then got the results back claiming it was not cancerous which we were over the moon about however a tooth of hers was right under the lump in her mouth which came back as a gum disease and they did not remove the tooth and that then led to it cutting the absess and therefore it bled so much. The next morning she kept bleeding and we had to get her put to sleep and they claimed they didn’t believe the lab results that the tumours weren’t cancerous! I would not recommend this vet to anyone in my eyes they’re negligent and not one vet I got seemed to really know what they were doing. Read Less

I only have good words to say about this Vet Practise. I have been taking my German Shepherd called Ben to Ivybank since puppy training days. He is nearly 13 now and I fully believe without the fantastic Vet Care he has had from yearly check ups to some real care and skilled diagnosis and medicine and health care advise for my big lad, I don't think he would have reached this fine age. Ben has developed CDRM and had a Vestibular event where we thought he basically would be put to sleep. However not to be, He received real professional care and we received some very welcome advise. This without doubt has extended the life of our beautiful dog and has enabled us to enjoy even more time with our wonderful loyal pet. I can't thank these professionals from reception to nurse to vet to admin enough. I am very proud and happy to write this review as we have been able to have witnessed a German Shepherd enjoy a wonderful time throughout his whole life, and we are now enjoying watching and old man get fabulous care whenever we visit for check ups etc. Many many thanks to one and all at this Practise. regards Joe Scott Ben and family Read Less

Good service and got required treatment which helped my dog and still is for the last 5 years.....ery disappointed in their response tho, to my dogs intense and profuse panic of fireworks..... was offered " aromatherapy " , which is something that would not affect a dog as it relies on some placebo effect.....ai is so scared that it almost makes me thinks she is going insane..... in my opinion she needs sedated for the couple of evenings and I know kai best, she is absolutely terrified..... guess I'll have to seek out a sedative by asking my mum nicely for one of her tablets....... im furious as it is with the people with fireworks, now I'm even more furious with the vet for thinking that aromatherapy will help a dog......he only aromatherapy that would help her is by using nitrous oxide.....ther than this , the vet is ok Read Less

I heard alot about Ivyvank vets once I registered with them a year ago but tried my best not to have any preconceived ideas about them before I had actually used their service, but unfortunately the reception are 'extremely rude' and can't seem to admit when they have made mistakes. I have too phone Valley Oaks for any sound advice regarding my pets as they can't seem to give advice over the phone very well, as the previous practice i was registered with before I moved "Valley Oaks Vets" whom I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a decent encounter whilst caring for their clients pets and always having their best interests they always make sure you feel comfortable and valued as the client. Took my sharpei here, I was seen by two different vets who were both equally uncaring and uninterested in my dog. She was given an anti inflammatory drug on the 2nd visit which worsened her renal failure. She collapsed on the table and the vet ignored my pleas that here was something severely wrong with her. She was unfortunely put to sleep the day after that visit in the emergency vets in Kilmarnock after suffering quite unnecessarily for a further 24hrs. If at any point they had taken some bloods to check her renal function she would not have had to suffer at the end. The vets in Kilmarnock told me they had never seen such severe renal failure in any dog they had ever treated. I would advise anyone who loved their pets to steer clear of this practice. I can only comment on two of the vets And I would hate to tar all of the vets who work here with the same brush. But what I can say is that the difference in care I received from the emergency vets now team was night and day of a difference. They clearly cared about animals and treated my dog with amazing care and respect. I am a nurse myself and I understand that vets are not blessed with psychic powers, but ivy bank were callous in their care and made me feel like I was overreacting. It would not have saved my lily if they had taken blood and discovered the renal failure but it would have saved her from suffering in the last few days of her very short life.Read Less
