Money making machine! My cat had been very poorly for several days. The vet have her 2 injections and said she didnt know what was wrong with her. Suggested she stay overnight for "monitoring" at a cost of £500!! I declined because if they dont know what is wrong with her, I can do the same thing at home!!
Requested for me to bring her in again next day, which I regretted as they just charged me more money! Took a blood test which was very expensive. The whole bill came to £200. Then they didnt even bother to inform me of the results, I had to chase them up. I was told nothing showed up in the results so they still didnt know what was wrong with her.
I think £200 is a lot of money to pay to get "we don't know"!! Read Less

My dog had hip surgery at this practice, following which they offered no physiotherapy. The reason... "to be fair we've had physio therapists in the past but can't keep them due to lack of work" oh and your vet is new so didn't know who we could refer to.
The result my dogs leg is totally atrophied, they may as well have cut his leg off. The vet even suggested euthanasia if no improvement for what was simply hyper extension of the hock due to muscle wastage. Thank god I had the foresight to get a second opinion.
After 8 years of being a loyal customer they don't even offer up an apology.

Having used Coastway for over 9 years I had always recommended them however this is no longer the case. Due to a recent change in circumstances my partner found ourselves a little short of money. Our dog however needed treatment for an eye infection. Having been loyal customers for over 9 years my partner requested 2 weeks to pay the bill. This was purely because she had gone from weekly to monthly pay. This was refused along with treatment for our dog. Disappointed I challenged this decision to the senior partner to be told I should take my pets elsewhere. 9 years of paying the bill on time and they have no trust or customer care or worse worry more about profit over care. I am so grateful to the vets at Coastway and to the lovely staff for their kindness and helpfulness - on many occasions! Just recently my Springer Spaniel has managed to slice herself twice on her legs -possibly on barbed wire, resulting in nasty gashes on her legs. In both instances the vets were concerned to minimise the cost for me considering staples rather than anaesthetic and stitches - as one of these happened on a bank holiday that definitely helped.
They were kind, caring and efficient and went out of their way (special thanks to Paul) to help my dog. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Read Less

Andreas, you have been simply outstanding in the exemplary way you have for many years looked after our beloved Airedale Terriers, Cassius and Kira. Sadly we have lost both of them in less than two months, first and suddenly was Kira at 11.5 years old (who we rescued from Glasgow aged 15 months), and last week Cassius, (who we'd owned since a puppy) at nearly 14 years old - a great age for an Airedale! We take solace and reassurance in knowing that both dogs had a wonderful life with us and that we, together with Andreas's help did everything possible for them. Not only in being a super vet over the years and especially in the twilight of their time he has been a rock of support to us and his deep care and understanding the dogs' needs shining through every time. Going beyond the immediate medical care, when Kira passed, Andreas also suggested we think about getting another, smaller female dog to ease the grief and also give some new life to the ageing Cassius. We love Terrier character so settled on a Lakeland Terrier - found a lovely breeder in Leicester and two weeks ago became the proud owners of Sasha. They became great friends for only 10 days before Cassius sadly went to the Grand Kennel above (again Andreas and Paula at Rottingdean were simply amazing at this time - so truly caring and professional), but I truly believe Cassius had welcomed her into the family before handing over his mantle. Had we not taken Andreas's advice we would have been in an awful place at the moment, but having Sasha as a new lease of life in the home is a gift! She's so full of life and character it's impossible to be sad for too long - although Cassius and Kira will always be in our hearts. A totally new idea and shot across the bows from Andreas saying we should consider showing her her...let's she how she develops in time but thank you for all you have done for the Airedale's and undoubtedly in the future for Sasha too. Thank you very much Andreas - born to be a veterinary surgeon!Read Less

Today our Border Terrier Kes returned to see Jenny, this time for a booster jab and general checkup. Had it not been for the amazing work of Jenny and her team, Kessi would not be here today, having suffered an extremely bad poisoning incident in October last year. We cannot recommend Jenny enough and we thank the team for all their hard work and for bring Kessi back from the brink, giving him 24 hour care until he came back around. He is a happy little dog and we have these vets at Coastway to thank for having him at home with us today. Thank you.

I have just had the best vet experience ever with Jay, Vet. Nurse, and the Reception Staff. My elderly, arthritic Chunky Choc Lab, Megan, is extremely reluctant to allow me anywhere near her nails, and herself anywhere near a Vets. With much kindness, and a lot of help she is manicured and her various bumps and dents have been checked. All is well. I am extremely grateful. Thank you so much. Read Less

I've used this vets for 10 years now and can't recommend them highly enough. I've seen several vets here, Andreas, Paul and Andrea when I had to bring my dog in to the emergency over night service. She had had a spasm in her back for more than 24 hours and despite medication was really distressed. I was in a state too. Andrea was so calm and reassuring, I felt instantly better and my dog stopped howling for the first time in about 12 hours!
Andreas checked Moo for heart difficulties a couple of weeks ago - she's 10 now and has had a few funny turns! He was so thorough and kind. I was instantly reassured and Moo was given a clean bill of health too. All the staff here are lovely, really friendly and kind.Read Less

My puppy recently underwent a major operation at this vets on her stomach. For 6-7 weeks after she had complications, continuously we asked for an X-ray but were told vehemently one was not required until one of the vets suggested that we may consider her being put to sleep. After approaching a second vet that evening where she subsequently stayed for 8 days, she has now made a full recovery. I would not recommend this vets under any circumstances.Read Less
