I have recently left new priory vets in Brighton after many years there. When mr Richard's was there he really cared about the animals now it has been brought out by a company the only thing that matters is the money. I felt I was being scammed everytime I had to visit the vet . Due to no nurse being available only a vet they were going to charge me £90 to clean my dogs glands as they now call all weekend emergency service. I was referred to grove lodge in Worthing for an eye operation on my dog & the sevice was so much better more caring & not money grabbing so I have now changed to them it is worth the extra travelling as I dont feel I'm being ripped of every time I go there they are so friendly & helpful really pleased I've changed

Today, 14th November, i brought my 7 week old dog in. My dog was powerless and nearly passing away.
When we arrived one of the girls took the dog from our hand to hers, that was a really quick response, this give us hope that they where professional but we couldn’t of been more wrong!We waited for at least 3 hours as me and my partner where nearly having a heart attack! The staff where running and panicking, this made us worry and fear the worst for our poor little puppy 😢. After the fear of the worst due to the panicked state of the staff one of the vets came out and she kept saying we’ll try to make him stable before we do anything, she meant we’ll only give him oxygen now but for the 3 hours they kept him In the emergency room without any proper checks!! This could’ve caused him to pass away😡😡You had to keep us 3 hours waiting just to tell us you need from £1,500- £2000! The money just kept going up and up when she didn’t even know if he’ll survive?! It definitely felt like they only cared about the money! When we said we’d prefer to take him home as she couldn’t even give a 1% survival chance she kept putting pressure on me and urging me to accept her advice. It was clear there where times she didn’t understand nor seem to care about our opinion. When she realised we where taking the dog home she tried to rise the bill even more!! We where charged £345 in the end with no actual treatment and an idiotic result of a completely wrong diagnosis they made with no real examination?!After this awful experience we took him to another vets where they took him inside straight away and within only 5 minutes he comes back and asks for our permission to start with XRAY. So within 5 minutes we got alot further then 3 hours at this place! This new vet completed the XRAY straight away and told us he can see in the scans my puppy has a problem with his breathing. No brain trauma at all!Your vet was 99% he had trauma to the brain and that was the issue! What an absolute joke!! Deciding that with no scans put our 7week old innocent puppy in great danger😡😡😡😡, now luckily we trusted our gut feeling and took him somewhere else the puppy is in safe hands! Not just in the hands of people who only care about money! I will add his picture too so you can see the suffering he faced for 3 hours with an incompetent vet!!! After a few days when my brain has settled after this really bad experience, I'm seeing my lawyer on Wednesday and I'm taking you too court to sue you. I will also be in to collect a refund! As you risk in puppys ans other animals lives from now until I die I will sue you. No matter what the cost I won’t let you endanger any more animals lives! On top of this majority of the staff where so so rude. With the exception of the young blonde girl and the girl with black short hair. In my opinion the rest of the staff should find jobs they enjoy! To everyone reading this review, I'm not bad person you can check all my reviews to other businesses , I don't give 1 stars unless its appalling! This place really hurt me and risked my puppys live! Pablo our pug, has been to new priory vets a few times. The team are always enthusiastic, passionate and well organised. He has just been seen with a more urgent problem and was seen this morning an hour after my call. Laura his vet was very efficient and clearly explained the problem to me and settled my anxiety. It is COVID safe. I would highly recommend this vet.

Only interested in charging as much as possible for poorly pets, and make sure they get the money upfront and leave it to the pet owners to deal with insurance companies!!
My puppy was taken into New Priory Peacehaven on 1st March with diarrhoea and was charged £107 and sent home and told to give chicken and rice. By Friday he was still not well and was taken to New Priory Animal Hospital in Brighton after having Projectile Diarrhoea!
They Kept him in, did various tests, X-rays, scans etc and still couldn't find out what was wrong with him! The prices were unbelievable, nearly £2000!!
After doing all the checks they called to arrange for collection but needed payment before he is allowed to leave!
They stated that one of the X-rays they couldn't claim for but they never told me that before proceeding otherwise I wouldn't have agreed to it!
We then found out they had charged £39 for a phone call to us to check on my pet after he was sent home!
£50 for a consultation to inform them he had diarrhoea (whilst we were in the car park!)
Before allowing us to collect my pet, they Insisted I pay the full balance and claim myself through insurers, when I said I didn't have that sort of money they agreed I could pay a £500 deposit, and they would deal direct with my pet insurers, so I actually paid £607 on this claim, which they have received back!
It's now the 27th of April I have been chasing the insurers daily.....who insist they paid New Priory the full amount on the 8th of April, and have now sent me a copy of the bank transaction to show they did in fact pay the vets on the 8th!
I am now having to take them to a small claims court for my money!

Very disappointed with this place charge so much for their service would not help with an issue we had with our dog a while ago and had appointment booked drove all way there to grind they made mistakes with times and needed to cancel instead of calling day before they phoned partner 5 mins before I was due to be there so had already arrived total waste of my time quick enough to take your money when they want it but not bothered about letting you know about cancellation

I have just made a formal complaint to the vet mediation service regarding the appalling treatment that my dog received.
Would strongly urge other owners to check exactly what scans etc their dog actu...
I have just made a formal complaint to the vet mediation service regarding the appalling treatment that my dog received.
Would strongly urge other owners to check exactly what scans etc their dog actually needs before agreeing to it.
I was charged a fortune for tests, scans and overnight stay.
My dog was discharged with a diagnosis of "pyrexia of unknown origin"
But the day before I was told it was probably meningitis or GME.
Turned out she had an abscess on her tooth and only needed antibiotics!
Total rip off and play on peoples emotions to extort money for unnecessary tests.
When I complained I was told to take the dog elsewhere if I was unhappy!
Gavin is incredibly rude and not interested in treating my dog after I had complained.
Not even worth one star.

I left this vets because of two reasons for one I didn’t like the way they judged me when I said I wanted my dog to have one litter of puppies. Second they told me to come in when my dog had kennel cough just to tell me they couldn’t do anything. The worst thing is my dads cat got his fur shaved there where he was cut , being an old cat the stitches got infected and ended up costing him a fortune in antibiotics and vets bills even though it was their fault for cutting the cat in the first place . Be careful they will rip you off .Also the 5 star reviews could be bogus , paid for or set up by the vets themselves on different google accounts. The point is they have scammed my family out of hundreds of pounds

To be honest, this place is a fantastic friendly service day or night. Recently had to rush my dog in and was told he had possible pneumonia, the time it took to get urgent medical assistance was amazing. My dog is now perking up a little..
Even with wildlife issues, it is not too much trouble as had to rush a baby seagull in and staff very friendly even at unsociable hours.
I am adding extra to this review.. (February 2018)
My dog last night got food trapped and started choking at 1145ish and they quickly answered the phone and told me to bring him straight down.. Upon arriving the two night staff had oxygen ready in the event that the particle didn't dislodge and thankfully it had broken apart just as we arrived. My dog was shaking with shock and the vet let me straight in and had my dog seen to.. Tested out the throat to see if any damage had been done and thankfully just general discomfort. I cannot describe how traumatic it is watching your animal choking and crying but I would recommend firstly research the recovery manouver in event a dog chokes so on way to vet if have a passenger in the car one can try to dislodge the food..
The vet at night done an experiment with chicken to test for further blockages and gave excellent advice on after care.. This is another reason I recommend everyone get a vets like.new priory who are available 24 hours a day as you never know when your need an emergency vet appointment which is a matter of life or death. Thank you to the team for all help given..

Fantastic service, very friendly reception. I came came in with my friend who's dog was very ill and she was incredibly distraught. We were taken to one side, and the receptionist was very compassionate and handled us with care. The vet did all they could and we gladly would pay any price for the standard of service and care we received. I have recommended them to everyone I know, and when I can have the puppy if my dreams I know where I will be taking him.

Very expensive - one standard medication at my local vet is £6.10 but it’s £14.86 at New Priory. I have questioned this but never got a response.

Very disappointing. Agree with another reviewer on the rudeness of reception, both on the phone and in person, maybe its just one young person but thats all it takes to make a first impression. Lacking authenticity and warmth. My first appointment felt very rushed and was not remotely thorough. The vet I saw was given a record card but missed that my pup needed the second round of a vital vaccination and I was none the wiser. Now the course has to be started from completely from scratch at more expense and she isn't immunised, but I have found an alternative fabulous practice in Hove who have kindly offered this at half price and a proper first time consultation.

My Milly had to spend 7 nights in the Priory Hospital post operatively - I couldn't complain about anything, her treatment was first class and communication was excellent - day or night there was always a vet to talk to and put my mind at rest. A very professional and caring staff.

Our cat became unwell during the night so we called our normal vet and we're directed to the New Priory. Despite never dealing with this vets before the phone support was very good and thorough. We were given helpful information and made the decision to take her in. When we got there the staff were friendly and we were seen right away. The vet again was very friendly, reassuring and thorough. In two hours we had an examination, blood tests, and the results. We were off home feeling a lot better.
I would happily recommend this place.

Pablo our pug, has been to new priory vets a few times. The team are always enthusiastic, passionate and well organised. He has just been seen with a more urgent problem and was seen this morning an hour after my call. Laura his vet was very efficient and clearly explained the problem to me and settled my anxiety. It is COVID safe. I would highly recommend this vet.

Fantastic service, very friendly reception. I came came in with my friend who's dog was very ill and she was incredibly distraught. We were taken to one side, and the receptionist was very compassionate and handled us with care. The vet did all they could and we gladly would pay any price for the standard of service and care we received. Very expensive - one standard medication at my local vet is £6.10 but it’s £14.86 at New Priory. I have questioned this but never got a response.

Very disappointing. Agree with another reviewer on the rudeness of reception, both on the phone and in person, maybe its just one young person but thats all it takes to make a first impression. Lacking authenticity and warmth. My first appointment felt very rushed and was not remotely thorough. The vet I saw was given a record card but missed that my pup needed the second round of a vital vaccination and I was none the wiser. Now the course has to be started from completely from scratch at more expense and she isn't immunised, but I have found an alternative fabulous practice in Hove who have kindly offered this at half price and a proper first time consultation.

My Milly had to spend 7 nights in the Priory Hospital post operatively - I couldn't complain about anything, her treatment was first class and communication was excellent - day or night there was always a vet to talk to and put my mind at rest. A very professional and caring staff.

Great vet, good adviceand my causa are always treated well. Word of caution, treatments aren't cheap so insurance definitely helps!

Our cat became unwell during the night so we called our normal vet and we're directed to the New Priory. Despite never dealing with this vets before the phone support was very good and thorough. We were given helpful information and made the decision to take her in. When we got there the staff were friendly and we were seen right away. The vet again was very friendly, reassuring and thorough. In two hours we had an examination, blood tests, and the results. We were off home feeling a lot better.
I would happily recommend this place.
