My dog was given utmost care when being treated at this practice and for that I thank the vet, however I strongly feel that some staff need a little more empathy when it comes to euthanasia. Speaking in soft tones does not show compassion...actions do. I arrived at 5.55 for my dog to be euthanised at 6pm. I arrived to find the waiting room packed as the vet was running late and no-one had had the forethought to advise me of the situation. Instead of being shown to a room where I could sit alone with my dog and say my goodbyes I had to wait in a packed room while the vet caught up with his work which included other people arriving after me to collect pets that had been operated on that day. My dog was finally given a sedative in the waiting room after 30 minutes but again there were still people present and I couldn't talk as I wanted to. After a further 15 minutes I was taken to the consulting room but even then I couldn't focus on my dog and what was about to happen as the nurse handed me a document to sign which could have been done earlier. Life has no rewind button. You only say goodbye to your beloved pet once and every effort should be made to make this as bearable as possible because the owner will probably not be thinking straight, but once the 'fog' clears every detail will be remembered. I will not change my vets for anyone else after being here. The care everyone offers into my cats make feel so happy and relax...they treat them as their owns.

We had a really awful experience with this vets!! Our miniature daschund suffered a seizure, I rushed her to the hailsham surgery . There was no vet on site so was taken to the stone cross surgery where she was taken in, the vet treated me very badly questioning me like it was my fault and not listening to a word I was saying. She then run some pointless tests for anemia? And rat poisoning? It was obvious she was suffering some kind of seizure/paralysis. The tests they ran could not be completed at that surgery so were sent to another vets. We were told we would be contacted as soon as there was any news, we waited and waited eventually calling them only to be greeted by an abrupt receptionist. We decided to go and see her for ourselves, the tests results had come back negative but we all knew they would so that was a complete waste of time and money. We were then told the best and kindest option was to put her to sleep. We decided to discharge her and take her home. After a long sleepless night and lots of tlc she began to regain some of her movements so we preserved and within a couple of days she was back to her lively self. Thank god we didn't listen to the vet or take any of their advice as the only thing they seemed to be worried about was making as much money as they could by running unnecessary tests then almost making us put our beautiful little dog to sleep. Be very careful with this vets I dread to think how many helpless pets have been put to sleep by this vets with the owners thinking it's their only option if they can't afford the unnecessary treatments and tests these vets try to push you into. The best thing we ever did was discharge our dog from this so called vets who are supposed to love and care for animals. I have absolutely no faith in vets now they are all about making as much money as they can not helping animals. Read Less

Just had our elderly greyhound in to this vet for the first time. The vet who attended Max was very helpful and clearly genuinely cares very much for animals. Will definitely go back.

It's a good vet. A bit run down and waiting times are long. Very long. Very very long. Appointments over an hour late. I was even considering bringing in my own TV to watch, I was that bored.
