Asked other dog owners for a recommendation, this vets was mentioned. I must state our dog was actually in a desperate situation we just didn’t know that. Made appointment shown into room with a work experience student in room? Vet walks in no introduction of the student, what followed was a completely inadequate examination. Result, take some antibiotics let me know if it doesn’t work. Day later we’re in a bad state we tell vet, what can we do, referral to royal vet college, ok what the time scale for that we ask, about 2 weeks is the reply, I’m sorry but I thinks that a death sentence to wait that long, we’ll you would have to wait longer than that with the NHS the vet informs me, just see if you can get him in earlier we plead (to be fair it was arranged for later that day) trouble was he was deteriorating quickly so took him to the pets at home within the hour as they had equipment to help with any diagnosis. This new vet was a completely different experience, professional and informative, they couldn’t understand how the previous vet couldn’t give a better insight into what the problem was, in hindsight it was a completely inadequate examination from Riverside, the vet couldn’t get down to examine our dog correctly, anyway his heart couldn’t be heard due to being in cased by water, which was pressing on his lungs, he was also suffering from liver disease and we had to let him go.
In finishing if you pet just needs antibiotics and your willing to pay £110 for a poor service (in my limited unqualified view) use Riverside, if you want an informed diagnosis with a vets the has more than a thermometer and a stethoscope I would recommend the vets in Pets at Home Pitsea. Read Less
