My cat collapsed suddenly at home no history of health issues when called thus vet as his registered with him they said they couldn't help.... There wasn't a vet on site TODAY I could take him to the blackmore branch. This is a 20 minutes drive where my cat needed immediate treatment... they said to call best friends surgery and it's sounds like your cat won't make it... although yes there was a very high chance this would happened and it did I expect my own registered vet to be more caring a senior nurse at the very least should be on site and would have been able to handle a very distressing and situation if only to try some basic cpr. He was still breathing albeit laboured and with difficulty. I shall now be moving the registration of my remaining 3 cats to another practice. Best friends surgery were amazing.... The reception staff are really lovely and my dog loves them. But I have been 3 times over the 3 weeks and have been given 3 different advice. None of which have helped my dog. One vet, approached my dog with the clippers to shave my dogs fur on, she was scared out of her mind. Might be best to not approach a dog with them on. Turn them on when near the fur. Read Less

4 weeks ago today we took our very sad 19 year old cat, Guinness, to see Peter at House and Jackson (thanks to Joy for booking us in so promptly on a Saturday morning) She was immediately put onto IV fluids and spent 5 days in the hospital at Blackmore Wonderful care from all the vet nurses, especially Chris and Harriet Guinness has made an amazing recovery on her prescribed Renal meat and is enjoying life again Special thanks to all the staff at this brilliant practice, and to Thomas and Susie, who look after Guinness at The Pet Clinic at Writtle. Have been visiting the Pet Clinic in Writtle on number of occasions and all these time the experience has been wonderful. Over the last couple of days our lovely nearly 17 year old cat Tom stopped eating and drinking and last night we decided that we didn't want him to have even a day of suffering if we could avoid it. We called the Pet Clinic at 8.30pm and by 9pm Suzy (sorry if I have spelt your name wrong) was waiting for us at the clinic. She was so kind to Tom and to us too and she made the experience as easy and peaceful as it could be. I was worried about how traumatic it would be for Tom and for us but it all went so smoothly and it confirmed for us that we did the right thing for Tom at exactly the right time. Harvey our cat was shot last week and lost an eye as a result. The team at H&J were fantastic in his hour of need and thank goodness he is now doing very well only a week on.
