We've just moved to the area, we were previously spoilt by our last Vet who looked after our four Japanese Akita dogs so well that he soon became our personal friend (especially after saving Foxy's life following a snake bite).
Black Notley Vets have managed to somewhat fill this void with the personal service and care we have been way too spoilt to expect. Thank you for looking after our pets and taking the time to explain exactly what your initial diagnosis is, what the options are and providing us with a list of options for us to then decide which route to take forward. That is what we call, excellent customer service.

I would before have given a 5 star experience but yesterday I was definitely less than satisfied or impressed with the reception staff and the vet that dealt with my little Jeremy (cat). I felt that the vet was not very warm and seemed more interested in trying to sell me things!! I'm used to the vets making a fuss of my cats and showing a bit of affection but I thought she was cold and lacked any connection to my pet let alone me! I also wasn't impressed being charged 9 to have a flea treatment applied and had I known it would cost me that I'd have not bothered and bought a pack of 3 and applied it myself. I was also tried to be talked into letting her apply worming treatment too for no real reason! A real shame as never been anything less than happy with taking my precious pets there. Having had to have 2 put to sleep in 3 years they handled the situation so well which has got me going back now I have my new cat. However it has made me think twice. A bit disappointed and feel let down on this occasion.

Ben gave our Lacey the best care that we could have wished for giving her every opportunity to stay with us as long as possible while remaining comfortable!! He's an amazing vet who not only treats the animal, he treats the family as well!! Sarah is the loveliest receptionist, always greets us with a smile and is always extremely helpful!! She always makes us feel welcomed!! As long as these two are on the team I wouldn't dream of letting anyone else care for our new addition, Molly!!

Great staff had a bad year with my poor old siamese cats but unfortunately had to have them put to sleep one in May and one October, and then the unthinkable happened my kitten digit was 10 months old got hit by a car and killed, someone called the vets they came out and checked to see if he had been chipped, when they new he was my cat they didn't phone ,two of them came round and told me it was devastating to find out but it was nice of them to take the time in person. I have dealt with many vets over the years and always considered them pretty much all the same. Then we discovered through a recommendation 'The Black Notley Veterinary Surgery'. We were very concerned with our springer spaniel, 'Jess' it was then we found Ben Orton and his team. Needless to say, 'Jess is much better now thanks to Ben's healing hands.
Ben is a 'rare find' not only a warm friendly bloke but also 1st class vet and deserves this review. I can recommend 'The Black Notley Veterinary Surgery' 110% ask for Ben!

I couldn't agree more with the last review, Ben and his team are amazing, they always show compassion and their service and support is beyond words, they have supported me through the loss of my wonderful Labrador and are trying to help my crazy Cockapoo Henry through his severe anxiety issues since Max died, I'm so lucky to have them on my doorstep, if I could give more than five stars I would.

Can't rate these lovely people high enough!! Everyone is always so welcoming!! Ben gave our Lacey the best care that we could have wished for giving her every opportunity to stay with us as long as possible while remaining comfortable!! He's an amazing vet who not only treats the animal, he treats the family as well!! Sarah is the loveliest receptionist, always greets us with a smile and is always extremely helpful!! She always makes us feel welcomed!! As long as these two are on the team I wouldn't dream of letting anyone else care for our new addition, Molly!!

Great staff had a bad year with my poor old siamese cats but unfortunately had to have them put to sleep one in May and one October, and then the unthinkable happened my kitten digit was 10 months old got hit by a car and killed, someone called the vets they came out and checked to see if he had been chipped, when they new he was my cat they didn't phone ,two of them came round and told me it was devastating to find out but it was nice of them to take the time in person. Def 5***** THANK YOU...

I have dealt with many vets over the years and always considered them pretty much all the same. Then we discovered through a recommendation 'The Black Notley Veterinary Surgery'. We were very concerned with our springer spaniel, 'Jess' it was then we found Ben Orton and his team. Needless to say, 'Jess is much better now thanks to Ben's healing hands.
Ben is a 'rare find' not only a warm friendly bloke but also 1st class vet and deserves this review. I can recommend 'The Black Notley Veterinary Surgery' 110% ask for Ben!
