Approx 4 weeks ago Ernie my 6yr old cat was admitted with a mouth infection and loss of weight due to not eating. He was sedated and the infection cleaned and he was also re-hydrated and when i collected him i was given tablets to keep the infection at bay. Took him back the next day and he seemed fine and his weight had increased slightly. 2weeks later we noticed he did not seem to be increasing in weight as much as i thought he would so we went back. The Vet gave me more tablets and steriods which we gave to Ernie and he took them for about a week and was eating although not that much. Last Sunday 30 July i noticed he would not take the tablets and stopped eating altogether and the weight had dropped off so off down the vets on Tuesday 1 August at 9 15. Seemed he had lost some weight and the lady vet suggested he be kept in and sedated and ultra sound and bloods taken being concerned i agreed. We picked him up later that day and had been shaved and looked a mess he had not been re-hydrated and was not really in a good place. The next day he was acting very strange drooling, very vocal, and not sleeping which is unusual for him. I phoned the vets at lunch time explained and was told these symptoms were to be expected for a short time. But later that day about 5pm he started to get restless and started to lose his co-ordination and became unable to walk i phoned the vets and was told to bring him down but explained that was not possible. So we had an appointment the next day at 10 15. Unfortunately during the night Ernie took a massive turn for the worst and although he was unresponsive his eyes were open and was breathing very upsetting. I took him back to the vets but i knew he was dying and the vet had to put him to sleep. Again i saw a different vet so there was little empathy or concern really and i have received no contact regarding the cause of his dramatic decline in health in such a short time. Not at all happy with the treatment Ernie received over the last week and blame the vet who gave the last sedation and ultra sound never got the results of his blood tests. From being a healthy fit cat although poorly with a slight infection to dying in such a horrible way i consider what was done this week caused his demise. Not a happy at all. Read Less

I've been visiting this vets for years with my 4 cats and each time I and my cats have been treated incredibly well. Very fair with pricing even giving me a discount when I take all 4 of them for their annual jabs. All the staff are wonderful and very caring and the vets take their time with the animal to make sure it is okay. (In other words the vets would rather the animal be okay than hurry up to keep to appointment times.) Keep up the good work Riverside! Read Less
