Took my dog there last week, late appointment and 5 minutes of poking about no checks made whatsoever and handle over £70 on a guess (antibiotics and anti inflammatory mess). Went somewhere else for a second opinion, full check and sample tested. I am now waiting to hear if my dog has cancer. A vet is not only for injections but should be there when you dog needs it and not do guess work. And it is not the only case that I am aware off. Read Less

I took my little dog to this vets with a tummy upset and she died the day after - leaving us devastated- poor care was given as she was seen half hour before closing - they could not have cared less - sent a bill the very next day with no condolences, they didn't even know she had passed away at the overnight vets - if you love your pet the way I did mine - register them else where! Would give it minus 5 stars if I could Read Less

A great practice, very skilled, helpful and friendly and well staffed so you can always get an appointment at short notice. Extensive surgical facilities at Purleigh, where our dog had (I think, quite complicated) knee surgery. As this is our first dog we rely on the practice for advice on many health topics and whoever we ask always answers our questions fully, with extra useful information that we had not thought to ask about. We are very happy that Edgewood are our local vets and even the dog is happy to go there! Read Less

We have been using Edgewood for 40 years. Throughout that time they have always been so caring and putting the plight of our furry friends first. No matter what the animal, be it Dog, Bird, Goat, Horse. They have always had the right expert on hand and nothing is too much trouble. the fact that they form a bond with your pet, makes them so much more valuable - you no longer feel you are a customer but a friend. Recent procedure my dog had was quite complicated, but everything was explained. And although I was very worried, I felt he was in expert hands... and the aftercare was exceptional. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone. Read Less

A fantastic vets, fantastic surgery, will go above and beyond for both animals and their owners, always reassuring and fantastic team. The nurses always look after the 'in patients' fussing them, even bathing and grooming them as well as the vets who well. I can't fault them. The work they have done over the past ten years for our Cav has been incredible. He had so many issues from pup eyes, skin, pads, pancreas, claws, heart, you name it he probably had some issue or another but he wouldn't give up always full of life and a wag of the tail and neither would the team at Purleigh. Fully recommend a drive out there if you can. Read Less

I have been at Edgewood for years now and they care for my two dogs. One of them is very nervous but is always put at ease by the nurses and vets. One of my dogs had a stroke four years ago and was in a bad way, the staff and vets were so helpful and caring and she made a great recovery. Recently the same dog tore her cruciate ligament and again was cared for at the Purleigh surgery throughout the operation and excellent aftercare. Last week my other dog went in for teeth extraction and again was cared for with five star quality by the nurses and vets. I am always recommending this practice as they are the only people I would trust with my pets, they are real animal people and genuinely care for the animals they treat. I have used another local vets before Edgewood and had a bad treatment experience, thank fully a friend recommend Edgewood and I've been there now for years. The staff take care to listen to the pet owners and do as much as they can to reassure them regarding their pets treatment. The new Purleigh surgery has now been completed and is really great, it has a completely new built hospital and looks fantastic. If your looking for a vets for your animal then I would definately recommend Edgewood. Read Less

We have been with Edgewood Vets for many years, and fortunately have mainly experienced routine appointments. However, earlier this month our dog got bitten by an adder and needed emergency treatment. He was well looked after by all the staff at Edgewood and is now making an excellent recovery. Communication was great and we were kept in the picture with progress and when we did have reason to call, nothing was too much trouble. The practice will be even better later this year when their own hospital is up and running. Would definitely recommend. Read Less

All the four legged members of my family receive any treatment they require from the fantastic team at Edgewood Vets and have done so for many years. This has ranged from emergency treatment needed as a result of a car accident to palliative care for one of our cats who was diagnosed with FIP until the end. Everyone at the practice is an animal person and they will do everything possible to help both the animals and their carers. The vets and nurses take time to allow the animal to settle before starting any examination or treatment and discuss all options available to enable an informed decision to be made. The aftercare is second to none with follow up calls being made by either the vet or nurse to make sure the patient is 'doing well' and to answer any queries that we might have. Now that the surgery is open 7 days a week it is even easier to get an appointment to suit and the range of facilities and services available at the practice is always being improved. The most recent treatment was for acupuncture on our old dog for arthritis which has improved his quality of life without the side effects of conventional treatment. I have recommended Edgewood Vets to several of my friends over the years and sing the praises of all the staff at the slightest opportunity. Read Less

We have been with Edgeware vets for a few years now. Being new dog owners we were cautious of vets as you hear horror stories about how they charge through the nose. We have been so lucky with this vets - I feel that they really care about our dogs and don't charge extortionate fees. Having a nervous dog - the vets always take the time to aclimatise our dog to them before giving him his checkup or treatment. I have always had great advice from them and a recommendation to another more specialised service should I need it. The reception staff are always pleasant and seem to recognise the dogs all the time. I always will, and in fact, have recommended this vets to a number of my pet owning friends who are equally happy with them. Read Less

Excellent service and care are what I have come to expect from the Edgewood group, and they never fail to deliver, from the friendly and efficient receptionists and nurses, through to the vets, who always take the time to listen, then discuss and explain the treatment required. It is thanks to their rapid diagnosis and surgical intervention to combat gastric dilation (bloat) in my dog that he is contentedly stretched out on the sofa next to me now!. After his treatment, with mutual consent, I took him home to nurse him (as he is a little "stressy" and more settled at home) I received a follow up phone call late Saturday evening from his vet to check on his progress, and I met her for a consultation at Purleigh on Sunday morning to make sure everything was ok and that there was no indication of further problems. My dog recovered rapidly, and is happy and healthy once again, for which I am truly grateful. I have dealt with this practice for many years, from way back when, with the horses, through to the current day with my dog, and I have no hesitation in recommending them. Read Less
