We took our ShihTzu Molly to Kew vets in Harlow as she had severe diarrhoea. She was very unwell and had to be admitted to assess and monitor her and she stayed in for 3 nights. This was a really traumatic time for us but everyone at Kews was great. Molly was treated and got better.
What set Kews apart during this time was how we were made to feel. Nothing was too much trouble, everything was explained to us, we were able to phone at any time for updates and the nurses even phoned us. They understood how we felt and they made a difficult time so much easier.
In particular I must praise Jess who so obviously cared for Molly and tried to make her stay as good as it could be and tried to treat her as we would. Some things money can't buy.

What utter rubbish they put on the notes at consult of your pet beware your words can be twisted. We went to see a vet as our dogs behaviour changed slightly with a new dog. Having seeing the insurance report some years later it appears my dog is unsafe as it growled at one of us .Never in a million years would our boy do this to anyone and yet to this day he has never been aggressive to people or dogs including our grandchildren ( cats are not a favourite).Kews were our vets for years , he cured one of my Dobermans many 20 years ago. it seems that since we have taken our other dog to them with a cruciate issue due to lack on full time staff they have taken the mickey. Now go to a great vet who retains their staff so you can see the same vet that actually get to know your dog rather than look a computer screen . Read Less

I have unfortunately had 2 cats who have had very serious health conditions and the vets has been honest with me and let me make an informed decision with both cases. There is also an out of hours service that is there should a situation arise that you NEED a vet right now.

Our families have been with Jack Kew for many years(40+ years) , always been happy but after the last visit never again. After paying for a consultation with a vet , we were informed that they needed to obtain quotes due to the injury, after not hearing from the in 9 days we phoned the practice to find out why no update or quote for operation . We were then told the vet that we saw had left the practice and that we would then have to pay to see another vet again just to get the information we needed. Did try to explain that we had already been at this point and we were waiting for the quote the vet had advised she was getting. The person we spoke to was not interested at all ( in our opinion very very very rude) it seems that money is all that matters with this practice not animal care, did request a call from Kew the owner over 2 weeks ago and was told that he would call still not heard a single thing. Have now gone to another practice Forest Lodge we are really really happy. It appears that the vets there seem to stay in their job for alot longer than Kews , being an animal lover vet continuity is very important. Please also note the accounts people are able to call paid customers liars?????? and when we tried to explain we were told do not be rude or I will hang up the call ( absolutely not what you want to hear when you have been a loyal customer). My complaint is not the number of teeth removed, I know this was necessary to avoid future complications, but the severity the condition was allowed to reach before it was picked up by a different practice. I sincerely believe that if I had been advised on treatment of gingivitis or even been told Bobby had gingivitis rather than the stock reply €a little pink give him more biscuits€ that the extent of his surgery could have been avoided. I also believe that due to his bad breath that Bobby has probably been suffering for a while and certainly since our visit in November 2015 ... had somebody said he has gingivitis let us tell you how you can manage it with chlorhexidine or other such care then I believe we could have lessened the damage he faces now. It was also missed in June 2016; I do fail to see that the situation could have escalated so quickly from November to July let alone June to July .... NINE TEETH!! I gather that the infection was very widespread, how can it have got this far? When we queried it 2 weeks ago, you said that member of staff no longer worked for the surgery (But we saw 3 different people in that time period) and surely notes would have been put on my cats€ record. The lady on the phone said the only notes about Bobby€s teeth were last November.
I really do feel that the severity should have been picked up in November 2015, and advice given (other than eat more biscuits) and/or surgery scheduled. I therefore feel that future visits should not have been necessary and feel a courtesy gesture would be to refund those fees. Also surgery is inevitable in gingivitis, I believe, but nine teeth and the extra it cost beyond the 3 back ones we expected would also kind gesture.
Today (Tuesday 9th) when we collected Bobby, one nurse said give him his medication tomorrow. We asked her to confirm and she agreed tomorrow. Minutes later the other nurse came out and said do the medication tonight. Conflicting statements. Who do we believe? Read Less

Kew vets have cared for my puppy from the beginning but today excelled themselves when my puppy was attacked by two other dogs this morning. The telephone triage was completed by an enthusiastic and competent trainee vetinary nurse with a qualified vetinary nurse. When I arrived I had a very good, professional and caring service by the on call specialist vetinarian and the nurses. I am extremely happy with the care and passion the team gave my puppy out of hours, and they treated my puppy within the hour. I would strongly recommend this practice to everyone. We took our ShihTzu Molly to Kew vets in Harlow as she had severe diarrhoea. She was very unwell and had to be admitted to assess and monitor her and she stayed in for 3 nights. This was a really traumatic time for us but everyone at Kews was great. Molly was treated and got better.
