My cat had an absis 8 months ago and the veterinary surgeon was amazing!. He done everything possible and more! BUT! Yesterday I took my cat for another absis and unfortunately got a different veterinary, he never shaved the head, he never flushed the absis, he never gave me any advice and he gave me the smallest bottle of antimflamatery I've ever seen! No collar! He also charged more and expects me to take him back in a couple of days to charge me for the amount of medication that I should of received in the first place!. I'm disgusted and I take good care of my pet and expect the treatment in which he deserves and for the amount they charge thats what he should get from this practice!. I noticed the difference between the two veterinarys because it was the same absis as the first time I went and the first vet gave me a two week supply! This time I got a 3 day supply and no collar to stop him scratching the wound!.Ide strongly advice you to go somewhere else unless you get the correct veterinary!. They have not even offered me a chance to ask the vet or get any explanation as to why the difference in treatment as before for the same wound/infection!.. Shocking!.

As a long standing client for several years, surprised to hear my pet suddenly acquired an arthiritic problem. Being only of middle aged years, I found this hard to comprehend. So, decided to obtain a second opinion from another vet. The consultation fee was minimal. After approximately half hour, I received a totally different prognosis. That rang alarm bells. It worried me enough to believe that this indeed could be a money making exercise. The medication would have cost me 540 pounds for a years supply. In contrast, my consultation fee was a mere 42 pounds.

Great service expert advises. DR Biddle certainly knows her job well. Her attitude and professional advise was spot on. I felt the practise certainly benefits from her expert knowledge. They're very lucky to have her as there surgeon. She considers people's feelings which is very important.

Probably not the cheapest vet in the area but without exception the vets, veterinary nurses and reception staff are all personable and professional. It can be difficult to park here at busy times as there is only parking for 4 or 5 cars, you may find you can only park some way away on London road.

It's a bit like going to your own doctor, you don't really appreciate them until you need them. My cat has been healthy and well for years, but just recently she wasn't herself. Thanks to the staff at Downes I feel reassured that they have her best interest at heart and are doing their best for her. I am glad that we are their patients and wish them all the best for Christmas and the New Year.

After a traumatic trip to my previous vets, I was nervous when the time came for his Lordships annual check up......Downes was recommended to me and Otis and I saw Margaret on Monday, we were both immediately put at ease and it was obvious from the start that he was in safe, experienced hands. Rather than being the frightened, hissing Otis witnessed before, he hardly batted an eyelid! Thanks so much!!

Very over priced. They give you 15% discount but have already doubled their price. Every time I have been it is suggested by the so called vet that my dog should have an eye test with a coloured dye which they charge you for, which turns out negative each time. Their monthly plan is for pills or drops which you can buy for just over half of Downes price. The so called vets consultation which is about ten minutes is 48.70 less 15% if you join the scheme which saves you 7.30 but as they have doubled the price for all medication you are being ripped off.

Thank you very much for the emergency care we recieved for our cocker on Saturday happy to say she is on the mend now and recieving gentle meals over the next week and then she will be put back on her normal dry food bit by bit. We were very worried for Millie but she is now back to her normal self now

Probably not the cheapest vet in the area but without exception the vets, veterinary nurses and reception staff are all personable and professional. It can be difficult to park here at busy times as there is only parking for 4 or 5 cars, you may find you can only park some way away on London road.

It's a bit like going to your own doctor, you don't really appreciate them until you need them. My cat has been healthy and well for years, but just recently she wasn't herself. Thanks to the staff at Downes I feel reassured that they have her best interest at heart and are doing their best for her. Thank you very much for the emergency care we recieved for our cocker on Saturday happy to say she is on the mend now and recieving gentle meals over the next week and then she will be put back on her normal dry food bit by bit.
