Well, after nearly 13 years since moving here of using this practice (for which 12 had been satisfactory) , DISAPPOINTED is an understatement , I will not name drop, but after taking my pug for checkup regarding a wart which had suddenly mutated in November 2016, bearing in mind she has been seen since she was a puppy for her annual boosters (health check ????), spade etc was seen in April 16 for her annual booster, and again in August 16 for a cut to her front toe, not once was the wart to her hind leg pick up or mentioned as a concern, because of our concern of its mutation (mine and husbands) we wished for it to be removed. (Now up until July 2016 I had had her insured lifetime cover, then changed her to another company so I had her and my other dogs all under the same insurer) , anyway so lump removal goes ahead, turns out that it is a grade 2 cancerous cell, and that next stage would be a vet to get in contact with me to discuss next stage of treatment ( January 2017) still not heard from anyone, to top it off just had letter through post today, from insurance company, informing me that because I had told the vet at the initial consultation that she had had the lump for a few years, they will not cover a pre existing condition, nor any other treatment relating to this. I ask you this firstly why would I say that, yes she had a wart, but this was NEVER picked up on previous health checks or on her notes , secondly if this was the case I would of had it done sooner under her first insurers. So as this post stated disappointed and upset.Read Less

We sadly had to have our beloved dog Cassie put to sleep recently and the compassion and professionalism shown was so greatly appreciated. Even more so when a bouquet of flowers arrived today from them with deepest sympathy. In the 13 years of Cassie life I can honestly say I have had no need to ever complain. I would like to make a special mention to Kevin Wood, I have always had faith and trust in all suggestions for Cassie's care and he always put what was best for her before anything else. Would highly recommend Cherrydown to any pet owner. Read Less

We have always used cherry down for all our dogs...(we have had loads since I was born...and one dog had 2 litters of 10 pups each litter) They have always been brilliant... and our last visit last Wednesday was excellent service although a sad visit where we had to have our beautiful Labrador put to sleep. After 18 years of having her it was the hardest decision ever but Cherrydown vets were so sensitive and caring. 10*****Read Less

Bens been in for a TPLO on his leg, From the first diagnosis we have been kept informed all the way, JB has been very helpful and very reassuring at a stressful time, He has explained in great detail about how the operation will go and why Ben needs this particular treatment, Cherrydown have phoned every day to let us know how Ben is getting on, we have visited him in kennels and all the staff have been very friendly and helpful, JB called us on the evening after he operated and explained how it all went. Hopefully Ben will be home soon, During such a stressful time our whole experience with Cherrydown has been fantastic, They are professional, understanding and very helpful.Read Less

Very dissapointed yet again with this practice, having asked for appointment with specific vet Kevin was told he wasnt there so opted to see Chris, yet again 40 minutes over appointment time , Chris told me I was there for Coopeers anul glands as Cooper hadnt been seen since July,,,,ummm no Cooper was her a week or so ago...... well nothing on here to say that, well he has ear probs. checked Coopers ears after using a wash for over a week, and issued a perscription for ear drops, having insited her check again where Coopers prior notes were and eye rolling ta da COopers notes under Connies, not good enough really a simple thing likes mixing up notes for 2 different dogs could be disastrous. We chose this practice because they say To us they are one the family, but sadly we are not feeling the love from this practice anymore. In the past the waiting times have become ridiculous have waited over an hour past appointment no explanation or apologies. Chris spent much of the time looking at his watch and even came round to the door as if we were wasting his time. Connie has been on steroids for a while for her allergies and as she is so young we have managed to get her from one tablet a day to half a tablet every 3 days .....Chris's advice Just stop them all together.... really is that not dangerous?.. Sadly we are now wondering if we should be staying at this practice with such lapses in the running and rude reception staff especially the lady dispensing last night. This used to be a good vets but sadly now customers dont matter and fhey only seem to be interested in profit. Such a ShameRead Less

4 and a half weeks ago this practice caused the slow and painful death of our beautiful cat. Cyan died on the 5th. My wife left a negative review on the 12th, in this time it seems Cherrydown have been able to find it within theirselves to send out condolences etc to other people and update their facebook page. They have communicated with other people but not answered any of the concerns or commented on the problems we (and poor Cyan) suffered with them. What a disgrace. Still very angry and shocked at the way it's all been ignored, swept away and seemingly forgotten about. Read Less

Not only was everything explained clearly and kindly to us but the staff showed such compassion. Imagine how I felt when I arrived home tonight to find a beautiful bouquet of flowers sent by them. Sadly we had to have our dog put to sleep last Sunday evening the vet on call was amazing taking loads of time to explain things to us and helped us so much. The staff we dealt with on the phone in regards to our boys cremation were kind and helpful taking time to let us decide what was best for us. This week our dogs ashes came back, they were sent to Stanford because that is nearest to us and today we received flowers and a sympathy card from them. Altogether a great service because of the kindness and patience shown to us a horribly difficult situation was made so much easier. Thank you to everyone at Basildon. Xx Read Less
