Not happy about M&h - every time my dog is seen by a different vet with a different opinion which is in contrast with what you were told the previous visit - there is no consistency. my dog keeps having the same issues and nobody in the team is able to fix it - overall, lack of proper knowledge. Not recommended as it’s not a good thing paying a lot of money for no success.

Be careful with your pregnant dog if they need a c-section !!
My dog was only going to birth to one puppy. After being scanned three times and being told the puppy was heathy and heart was fine I was advised that a c-section would be best as the puppy would probably to big for natural birth.
After a thousand pound spent I get the phone call that the puppy did not make it.
Now I can’t point the finger at nobody and have to believe with what I’m told as I’m not the professional obviously devastated and incredibly sad news BUT I go to vet today for my dogs check up in Stansted and see a very rude vet!!
I informed him I was running low on medication giving to my dog after operation and suggested I really shouldn’t have to pay for more , his reply “ you will have to pay if you want more we don’t give away for free” !!
These vets don’t care about your pets the only thing they care about is your money!!
Disgusting vile people !!

Reasonable prices and efficient service. They dealt with an emergency with my cat and did so with compassion and speed. Seen the inside of this vets a fair few times but never had a bad experience.

We had puppy socialisation classes with our little Cockerpoo Reuben a couple of months ago now (sadly it wouldn't let me post a review on here sooner!!!) Carolyn was amazing, so much patience and was able to answer any questions we threw at her!!! (There were a lot as we are first time puppy parents!!!) highly recommend going, it was also lovely to meet the other pups and their owners too! Was a really lovely group! Thank you.

We have been customers of Mercer and Hughes for over 30 years with a number of different pets. They have always provided excellent care for our animals and given us as owners, honest information and support where needed. I highly recommend anyone to this Veterinary practise. Tonight we completed our stage 2 puppy pre school with our new Puppy Digby. It was a fun and informative 2 weeks. Vet nurse Carolyn gave great advise and tips and made us all feel welcome and comfortable with her calm approach. It was a great social activity for both Digby to meet other pups and for us to meet other friendly owners and compare notes. The behind the scenes tour of the lovely modern surgery in Great Dunmow allowed you to see where your pets are cared for once out of the consulting rooms. Would love to do more training events with Carolyn and Mercer & Hughes if the opportunity came up. Highly recommend the Puppy pre school. Thank you to Carolyn all the M&H Team. This evening was our 2nd and final puppy class for Bryn our Border Collie puppy, given by vet nurse Carolyn. Really enjoyed the classes. It was nice meeting other puppy owners going through the same things as yourself and seeing the different breeds of puppies. Big and small. Carolyn was there to give advice and answer our questions. She obviously loves animals and made a great fuss of each puppy, making us owners very proud of our fur babies! I would definitely recommend the classes. We each came away with a brilliant goodie bag and certificate too! Thank you Carolyn and reception staff.

Just enjoyed a very informative couple of evenings at the Puppy pre-school in Dunmow. There was lots of information on puppy care, (teeth, claws, parasites etc!) in a friendly environment which provided safe socialization for the puppies. We got treated to a "Behind the Scenes" guided tour too! We came away with lots of tips and ideas about future health care and training and it was lovely to meet other enthusiastic puppy owners! For 10 it was excellent value. The puppy party bag containing a "Shake a Pheasant" was a real hit! Thanks Carolyn for giving up your 2 evenings to teach us.

The puppy pre-school in Dunmow has been excellent and we were very impressed with the kind and knowledgeable nurse Carolyn. Little Colin, our cocker spaniel has enjoyed going to the classes and meeting the other puppies. We think for two hour long sessions, and with a bulging doggy bag of goodies at the end, the value is just incredible. We thoroughly recommend these classes to puppy owners and the experience has really confirmed that we have chosen the right veterinary practice for our dog. Well done M&H and thank you Carolyn!

Thank you so much for all your support with Reggie, from when we initially saw the vet (on all of reggies visits), brought him in for his op (the nurse whos name I dont know sorry, but she will know who she is was absolutly fantastic, made me feel like she really cared for my pet and that he was in safe hands, and then when we brought him back showed that she really does care, and was sad with us.) and for the very thoughtful card we recieved yesteraday. The puppy pre-school in Dunmow has been excellent and we were very impressed with the kind and knowledgeable nurse Carolyn. Little Colin, our cocker spaniel has enjoyed going to the classes and meeting the other puppies. We think for two hour long sessions, and with a bulging doggy bag of goodies at the end, the value is just incredible. We thoroughly recommend these classes to puppy owners and the experience has really confirmed that we have chosen the right veterinary practice for our dog. Well done M&H and thank you Carolyn!

Thank you so much for all your support with Reggie, from when we initially saw the vet (on all of reggies visits), brought him in for his op (the nurse whos name I dont know sorry, but she will know who she is was absolutly fantastic, made me feel like she really cared for my pet and that he was in safe hands, and then when we brought him back showed that she really does care, and was sad with us.) and for the very thoughtful card we recieved yesteraday. You were all amazing when we lost Reggie and made the process so much easier. It means a lot to have a vet you can trust. Thank you again, Clare and Scott
