This is a review for inglis vets Kirkcaldy I know this is for the Dunfermline branch I hope they will pass my review on. We have been taken Murphy to the Kirkcaldy branch for the last 3 years since we got him however he is a very nervous dog but all the staff and vets have been fantastic. I can’t fault the vet that has been looking after him the last few weeks as he had to get knocked out as he was having problems with his ears he went back today and a massive thank you to the vet who looked after him again we got tablets from the vetto help settle and relax him and the vet managed to carry him in something he does not usually let any one do but he was so much more relaxed we can not thank inglis vets enough. I have lost my little dog early, due to a complete lack of vetinary ability, he went in with diarhea, and came out a shell. I was told his kidneys had failed, after a night in there hospital there was improvement, after the second night there main concearn was that he was not eating, so I was to take him home, when I saw him I almost wept, here was a little dog that could no longer walk, his back end legs just did not work, and he did not even respond to seeing me. I had been told over the phone he had been responding to treatment, not then or even yet has anyone explained to me why a little dog with diarhea turned into a shell of the dog that went in, nor I expect will I ever get one. To add to there inability to care about there clients, they lost his little name tag that had hung from his collar for fourteen year's, they had no reason that they can give for it being remove, even suggesting that we had removed it before taking him in. Then to add insult to injury, I had to make an appointment to have the little man to sleep, 10 . 00 AM next morning, we call to let them know we have arrived, after prompting them they sent someone out twenty minutes later, unacceptable and unneccessary to place us in that position. Then we are informed that only one person would be allowed in with him, at a time , in other words we can both go in but not together, WHY. In all at very best you would say there is little or no customer care, and certainly no one person you can talk to who will take responsibility for there actions. I realise these are difficult times, but that only means that those of us who give a service to the public have to raise our game to alow for that, not sadly in this case. I only give them one star but only because the system does not allow you to give anything less. A very sad, Alexander McCrae Read Less

Disgusting service at Inglis vet attended out of hours service my dog presenting with vomiting/rear leg weakness. Vet made an assumption without an action in my dogs health stating spinal/disc damage carrying out basic tests I.e ears, nose, temp, mobility, eyesight etc what she didn’t do was a simple blood sample to determine accurate diagnosis resulting in my dogs death. Vet stated to go home withhold fluids and provided an anti sickness injection which caused deterioration further. In a 4 hour period my dog was whimpering, paralysed and distressed on return to that vet she stated point blank along with another so called vet that my dog may never regain mobility as before due to spinal/slipped disc with no action to determine this I’ve never witnessed practise like this in my life hence I’ve never used Inglis vet but unfortunately my vet does not open over the weekend. They are a money making organisation and all they care about is money. To my disgust I was charged £322 for a sickness injection and the on call vet that is a joke. What has aided in our grieving is the final care Archie received at dick veterinary practise there is no comparison they are margins apart in animal care they were compassionate, respectful, sensitive, knowledgeable and efficient Inglis are none of it. They are taking no responsibility for there actions as I’d expect. However I am taking this to there governance of veterinary care as it is not right that people should lose there beloved pets through utter negligence. Disgusting organisation. Read Less

Inglis Vets care about your pets and do their best to make them feel relaxed and comfortable whenever you visit. My two Siamese cats enjoy visiting for their annual booster and even submit meekly to having their claws clipped. They love people who speak kindly to them and make a fuss of them, so the staff at Inglis are some of their favourite people. The separate waiting areas for cats and dogs ensure that your pets don't feel stressed during their visits. I cannot recommend Inglis highly enough. Read Less

We transferred our 2 bulldogs here yesterday from another surgery and had to book an appointment today when one of our dogs developed an eye problem overnight. From the initial phone call asking to transfer, to the call this morning and the first consultation this evening, the level of care, compassion, professionalism and attention to clients- human and pets- was outstanding. The clinic was well staffed, spacious, welcoming, calming and just seemed to be operating at the highest level. As newcomers to Inglis Veterinary Hospital, we felt really relaxed, reassured and secure in the knowledge that our 2 precious pets would be in very good hands. The vet who handled our first consultation was friendly and professional, calm and reassuring and put the "patient" our big bulldog so much at ease that he stretched out and relaxed across the floor!! We left with clear advice, medication and a sense of relief at having been welcomed into such a well established, excellently run veterinary hospital where clients and their pets very obvioisly come first. Thank you so very much for making this transition simple and highly satisfactory. It means a lot to enjoy this sense of security. Read Less

Would never use another Vet practice. I will be registering my new baby girl Savannah here too when she is ready to leave her Mum, she will also be put on the Care Plane that Kado&Shadow are already on with Inglis. Wouldn't recommend at all! I had my beagle at Halbeath Inglis vet numerous amount of times over the same month trying to figure out what was wrong with my poor dog, first two times we took him in they had no clue what was wrong with him just consultation consultation consultation and taking blood from him all the time! All they said was that he was underweight and he's loosing weight drastically, I was so worried about him and all they kept doing was making lots of appointments and telling me the same thing every time! Next time we went back they said he had very high blood pressure and gave us NO tablets for him, 1 week after that my dog went blind because of the high blood pressure and you could see that he was in pain! ( which was the Tuesday!) We took him straight back Wednesday morning and still never got any medication for him and just the same thing they told us again! I told them something wasn't right with him and they never even listened. Thursday morning he started urinating and pooing blood, had stopped eating/drinking since Wednesday morning and had no energy to stand up or lift his head, was so hard watching him in so much pain. Took him to the vet in the morning for them to finally tell me he had kidney disease and wouldn't recover so we had to lay him to rest. They should have known that high blood pressure causes blindness and should've gave us tablets for him! Too think they could've saved his sight from going and didn't do anything is disgraceful!! Only good thing I can say about this clinic is the vet (Sophie) who was so caring and understanding when we put him to sleep we got more information from her in 5 minutes than we did with anyone else there the past month! Every other vet we saw looked like they just wanted the money from me and that was it! Most heartbreaking thing I've had to do is lay my dog to rest plus walking out that clinic without him and just his blanket, he was my bestfriend but some vets just don't care.. Read Less

Be aware of pricing and quotes you are given, and what they involve. We came here with our dog who had severe coughing. She ruled out anything simple. We had been to another vet who was not prepared to xray my dogs lungs. We saw a female vet who said she would be prepared to do it and how much it was. Two days later, we booked him in. We see the same woman who said we had to pay for another consultation! Fair enough if the last we had saw her was weeks, or months ago, but it was two days! Absolutely ridiculous. Read Less

Had a horrible experience here. Our dog had diarrhoea for months under their care - they only prescribed diet dog food she didn't need. No calls back on labs done, we had to chase them for results. They also lost samples we left with them for lab works. Our dog was losing weight with them, and they never noticed, I had to point it out. When they changed her diet they refused to refund me on the previous remaining expensive unopened canned food they prescribed. A very rude receptionist lectured me on this point, but they prescribed it! It wasn't working! Should have had a refund but this was refused. One time we called as we were confused about some medication and the receptionist tried to give advice which was wrong. Scary! Moving back to our old vet, they cleared up her diarrhoea within a week. It took Ingles ages to transfer the records, and once they did we found they were very poor at keeping track of worming medication and other visit details. There's more but only can fit so much in a review. They received a 3 page letter of all the issues we had. Do *not* recommend. Also do not believe the Vet Help Direct reviews - any negative text posted is removed from that site (although the stars remain). Read Less

Really can't recommend this vets. I will be moving my 3 dogs elsewhere. There are one or two vets here that are very rude and obnoxious. I've owned dogs over 20 yrs and probably know more than some of the vets here! They are pushy, refuse to listen and make out you're stupid if you dare to challenge what they say. As for their prices! Ridiculous! I've used them for over 10 yrs but not anymore. They missed end stage liver disease in a previous dog of mine that they had to put to sleep, should have been a warning to me but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. There is an American vet there I can highly recommend him but as for the rest! I wouldn't let any of those cowboys anywhere near my dogs again! Rude, unprofessional, uncaring. Cowdenbeath surgery is mainly just students. You have to request to see a fully qualified vet. But Dunfermline is terrible. Off to register my dogs at a recommended practice elsewhere! Read Less

I needed to pay for an emergency consultation at the practice in Halbeath, Dunfermline for my very ill puppy on a Sunday night. Despite very obvious signs of the problem, the vet provided a complete misdiagnosis. I expressed my doubts at the time but they were dismissed. The dog fully recovered after about a week, which was entirely due to the him being young and healthy rather any action or intervention from the vet. I of course wrote an email pointing out my concerns, but I only received a very unsatisfactory defensive response, rather than an apology. Read Less

I have just had one of my Lhasa apsos to see the vet at Inverkiething. We saw Mr Davidson, who came highly recommended. I was not disappointed, what a lovely man, who's experience showed. He explained everything to me and made sure I understood his instructions. He even insisted that I call him in a weeks time, and talk to him personally to let him know how my wee girlie was getting on. I may have not been surprised if this had been a life threatening issue, but it was only a weepy eye. I was very disappointed with another vet in the area, so am so glad to have found Inglis. Update, nov 2015, sadly I have changed my opinion on certain vets in this practice. In the part 5 years several serious errors have been made to the detriment of my dogs. my request that a particular vet is not to touch any of my dogs, had been ignored although it is stated clearly on my file. I have very good retason for this request, and believe I am within my rights not to want any of my dogs to be seen by him. Also as one of my wee guys had a bad reaction to a certain drug, it shows up on the screen and none of my dogs get any pain relief, even after surgery, this is as recent as Monday 2nd nov. My puppy was castrated, when I picked him up and asked about pain relief, I was told " no because of a reaction to it in the past" it was one of my other dogs who had the reaction, not this wee 5 month old chap.It was at this point that I was informed that the surgery had been carried out by the vet that should not have touched him. Very poor record keeping, and consultation notes. I'm afraid their attention has now turned elsewhere.Read Less

Read Less
