My cat came back from being weighed with an extremely limp & painful tail. I suspect this happened putting him back in his carry box. They refused to acknowledge it was them who hurt his tail. Used various excuses to palm off the injury - abscess, bite etc. blamed the box being too small. Caused him alot of pain inspecting it. Then tried to bill me £40 for pain relief medicine. Phoned on Monday morning with an emergency (8.10am) as our Bosc Monitor 'Shadow' was in a bad way and looked like he was fitting then going limp. We were told we had to phone back after 8.30am as this was the emergency number and this wasn't an emergency, eventually he said to bring him along at 9am and they will see if they can see him. Heartbreakingly Shadow couldn't hold on this long and passed away. I feel guilty for wasting over 20mins trying to plead with Bill to see Shadow who we were told was the best reptile vet around. It's a shame when a vets and reptile enthusiast (Bill) doesn't see a lizard as the same priority as other animals when you phone the emergency number. Shadow was like our dog who would follow is around and he was like our little Shadow (hence the name). Read Less

My BD picked up a parasite; Pinworms. I asked for medication from this vets. Usually I would expect a vet to check weight and length of my Bearded Dragon every appointment we visit. This wasn't the case. Early February I thought my BD was underweight for her age. After receiving some detailed info from a very experienced and friendly Bearded Dragon Owners page, I was told to ask the vets to have a look at her. The "Specialist in Exotics" veterinary checked her out and didnt have much comments apart from telling me she had mild Metabolic Bone Disease. He never said anything about weight at all as it was 44g. I then went home and checked what a beardie's weight should be at this age and her weighed was well below the average!! She shouldve been at least 200g+ at 4 months old. I then started to make sure she was eating properly which seemed to have worked. She is now sitting at 110g still below but there is an improvement. I then got a Faecal test from a vet who was doing a study on BD's. Results came back and I was told to go straight to a reptile vet to get medication. I was advised by the guys on the BD owners page that I must double check that the dosage is right as it can be lethal if its wrong. I was given 2x syringes @ 0.25ml of Penacur. I came home and was ready to give Lizzie her meds. I quickly posted a photo of the label on the meds and was told this is waaaaay to strong for her weight (110g, which btw they never checked her weight when I asked for meds they just assumed she was the same weight from a month ago). I phoned up another vet and was also told its definitely incorrect for her weight. I phoned back to this vet and was told they had her weight down as 440g which is crazy!!! So a silly little mistake has now made my BD receive 5 times the amount of meds as she shouldve!!! I was told on the phone by the "expert" to give her 0.05 and that the 2.5ml was incorrect. Well thanks very much the sympathetic apology (which I never even received) that dosage could've been lethal to my Bearded dragon. I'll definitely not be back as I'm furious that the "expert" could get something to stupid and need me to question his intellect. Crazy. Really crazy.Read Less
