Cannot fault the team at St Clair. Had to have our little Princess Poppy put to sleep last week. Staff were excellent. Despite the current Covid the level of care and compassion both to Poppy and myself was amazing. I expected to have to say goodbye in the car park but was allowed, subject to precautions, to go in with her to say goodbye in private. Sadly the same cannot be said for the out of hours service. Took one of our other dogs for emergency treatment. Staff were very "matter of fact". Had better service when I took my car to local garage. Staff seemed disinterested and not listening when we explained her previous treatment. Treatment was not explained and reason for changing medication was given as "this is better". Firstly, I have nothing but admiration for the service provided by St. Clair Vet Group where I have been a customer for 25 years. However, Vets Now, operating from St. Clair's building is a completely different experience. This company is a money generating machine praying on unsuspecting pet owners requiring emergency care. I won't bore you with the story as it ended up being a 7 month saga of belligerence but some low points include: 1. £160 initial consultation fee on a Sunday afternoon as it's "out of hours' (normally £36) 2. Unnecessary procedures designed to increase overall costs 3. Recommendations for treatment not supported by the Vet's own notes 4. "Client Care" that treats customers like fools (we're not) Within 7 hours of being admitted my cat was apparently at risk of imminent heart failure. In fact she was constipated. Total bill... £730. My advice, if your Vet uses this company for it's out-of-hours service find another practice that doesn't. This company is proliferating across the country with monopolies in some towns so go check now before you have no choice. Inglis Vet's are about to open a new practice in Kdy and operate their own out-of-hours service. Sadly, due to Vets Now I am moving our 5 pets to Inglis. Finally, beware of the reviews for Vets Now on here. If you read them many are referring to St. Clair, NOT Vets Now. They are DIFFERENT COMPANIES trading from the same premises. Read Less

We called 4 hours later and they still did not know what was wrong with the cat as they had not had time to look as him . Now our cat has never been left anywhere before so we were worried he would become distrested . When we called back again we told then we were coming to cillect the cat and would take him to our own vet in the morning . The attitude changed .... And when we went to collect him the staff were extremelly rude and nasty . So in all it cost us an afternoon into late evening and €160 and still dont know what is wrong with our cat Terrible shocking service Read Less

Our dog was injured in an accident in the summer when we were on holiday and we took her here basically because they agreed to see her immediately. The undoubtedly saved her life by continuing to work with her when it looked very bleak and liaising with the vet school in Glasgow to get advice on the latest neurological treatments. We spent two days sitting with her while they gave continuous intensive care. They continued to run their vet practice around us and we believe that allowing us to be with her aided her recovery. We cannot praise them highly enough - the way both our dog and we were treated was compassionate and highly professional. Thoroughly recommended. Read Less

Avoid this vetenary GROUP. They completely missdiagnosed my Molly almost died, just kept giving her antibiotics and lots of expensive treatment that was not required. i took her to another vet and she was quickly diagnosed properly and treated easily and INEXPENSIVELY!! They are only interested in your MONEY. Pay attention and you soon figure it out for yourself. They mostly employ newly qualified inexperienced vets. My cat was seen on a total of five different occasions over a TWO WEEK period with the same underlying problem. Each time they failed to diagnose her and basically pumped her full of antibiotics each time... It was eventually diagnosed on the fifth occasion by an extremely competent and decisive Amercan vet who took action to have her operated on... Sadly this was too late for her. The total cost for basic incompetence was over 2000. She died shortly after undergoing the knife as she was too weak by the time of eventual action being taken. NOTE: There was no after surgery care she died soon after. I would liken this practice to a well known fast fit practice that's driven by sales and not service. I can only advise to stay well clear of this establishment. Having spent over 2000.. this more than qualifies me to do so. Read Less

We recently lost our cat Sooty. He had been with our family for 18 good years and gave us lots of love an attention albeit at times on his terms. He took a turn during the weekend of 9th August 2014 and we knew this time things were not good, and we saw it in Sooty's eyes. As an animal lover you will know the heart wrenching agony you go through when you are forced to say goodbye. Never easy. We have had and continue to have a relationship with St Clair Veterinary Group who again at this very difficult time are there for you providing the best level of support no matter what the circumstances are. We couldn't ask for a better vet service in our community. Today a sympathy card from Rosie just summed up how caring a veterinary practice this is to go to all that bother. Fife's best I would say. Thanks again to everyone there, and we know Sooty is now in fields of green amongst our other adorable and unforgettable pets that have gone before him. And some day us and our beloved pets will all spend great times together again in those fields of green. Read Less

Read Less

This vet is disgusting Waited 3 hours to be seen to get an estimate of between £100 tp £1000 Then took a massive deposit and we were sent home and told to call later .

Absolutely fantastic! Had to take my cat Alfie in out of hours last night. From the first phone call with Corrie who helped me realise he may have been hit by a car, to getting him there to Nina (vet) was amazing (think they may be Vets Now staff). Not only did they deal with Alfie in a calm and collected and LOVING manner, they also made sure I knew what to look for when I brought him home. All in all, for a horrible situation they made it so much easier. Thank you! Read Less

Read Less

The quality of Veterinary service, Professionalism, friendliness and the genuine concern, shown by the Vets, the Girls on reception and all the Veterinary Nurses, is Second to None! We recently had to have 2 of our dogs 'put to sleep' approx 3 months apart, for different reasons. The Vet that helped my Wife and I through a couple of difficult times and ensured the dogs passed away as comfortably as possible, is a lovely lady, an excellent Vet and a caring, compassionate person. Nikki & I would like to thank Barbara, for everything and say that this extent of 'care' the dogs and we received, is indicative of St. Claire's and all it's Staff! Thank you. But in Fairness there are a some really nice people working there. Unfortunately Its geared for extracting as much cash from you as they can get away with. They're simply playing on your emotional attachment to your pet. Read Less

Read Less

Thanks to your wonderfully patient and calm vet and vet nurse (sorry, I didn't get their names, but both females - my appointment was 1640). Vet nurse had to don her huge protective gloves to deal with Harvey, who is usually a very laid back, carefree boy (hard to believe!), but turned into the devil cat today. Anyway, all of your staff, from reception, vet nurses, to vets are so amazing, calm and reassuring. I wouldn't go anywhere else (unless Harvey is barred!) Read Less

Read Less
