Champion vets used to be good vets when Stephen Champion ran them. Now that they are owned by CVS WHO OWN 480 vet surgeries, it has gone right downhill. It's all about the money. Ibrox branch never has any staff, they can't keep staff, one locum told me that she offered to stay and work full time but Champions said she was too expensive, so instead, they go for cheaper less experienced staff. I had my pet Labrador 7 times to this vet and they could not diagnose what the problem was even after hundreds and hundreds of pounds spent. Then it was too late it turned out she was in liver failure and passed away at the vet hospital. It is the same with all the branches of this Brand ( champion vets) You just need to read reviews from their other surgeries to get a feel for them. They are by FAR THE WORST VETS I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Ps, this happened a few years ago but I thought it was about time I wrote my review. It still has not changed closes early, never any staff. no continuity, in experienced staff. DO yourself a favor if you love your pet, Avoid Champion vets... Read Less

Absolutely appalled beyond belief. Took a Boston Terrier puppy for his vaccination, unfortunately for us with an individual named Lorna McHardy. Prior to entering the consultation room, he was weighed and described as being a little snuffly dog. After rudimentary check up, vet in question who incidentally was a locum, to the point and matter of factly made the flippant remark about my dogs inability to breathe correctly. She turned the puppy around to present me with two perfectly normal nares which she said would certainly need widening. I replied that his nares were perfectly fine (which they are) to which she replied 'have you looked in here' meaning his mouth and throat area. Having already checked his mouth for any signs of worry earlier in the exam she then proceeded to struggle with my puppy to open his mouth to allow me to peer down his throat. The puppy became very distressed at which point I asked her to stop as he was unused to such rough handling. She did not stop and so I lifted my dog off the table and left. Having owned the breed for half my life and having used this very vet in its previous incarnation of Pfaff's I can honestly say I have never encountered such a belligerent and dogmatic individual in my life in relation to dogs. Telling what she mistakenly assumed to be a novice owner that their dog could not breathe properly and would likely require invasive surgery at some stage, accompanied by wholly unnecessary rough treatment is nothing short of disgraceful and my next port of call is a complaint to the RCVS. Had i been a new owner undoubtedly a perfectly healthy puppy would have been returned to its breeder. The reception staff I dealt with with very courteous and helpful. I sincerely hope whoever is in charge of this practice acts swiftly to ensure there is no repeat performance. Shocking display of utter unprofessionalism, and the vet in question should consider herself very fortunate indeed that her rough unnecessary treatment doesnt appear to have had any lasting damage. A shy or timid puppy would most likey have been affected very badly indeed.Read Less

The people who work here stand out as being genuinely (not just professionally) kind, and very patient. Just exactly what you want from a veterinary surgery. The vet I usually take my dog to is Kate, an exceptionally down-to-earth and sympathetic person, who remembers more facts about my dog from appointment to appointment than I do! Really couldn't ask for more from this place and would always recommend it to others.Read Less

Recently transferred to Champion. What can i say! They are fantastic and so attentive to my ETT's and their needs. My young boy Bruce has Pancreatitis and as a result he needs regular weight checks and nurse check ups. The staff have been so good with this and really understanding. The value vet plan is wonderful also. It is really easy to set up and i can be safe knowing i will always have flea and worming protection as part of their plan. I really couldn't thank them enough for all their support and guidance so far. I know i can be a really fussy pet owner! Great Vets, Highly Recommend! Charlene Baird & The ETT'sRead Less

I was so worried about my dog going for an op at 10 years old, I am truly humbled by the kindness of the staff in this practice. Each and every staff member was beyond lovely and went WAY beyond what was asked. My dog is eating 2 hours later and he is absolutely fine, tail wagging, baby romper suit on (rather than the lampshade). Truly I cannot thank them enough and had to take a box of chocs in. I will most definitely be taking in another. Thanks to all of you for being so fabulous! Read Less

Have always rated this vet highly but the past few months they have proved to be the most compassionate, caring, understanding vet practice I have ever been to. Not only do they look after my Scamp with 5 star service but they look after me and always have a tissue on hand when needed!! The vets (esp Kate!) and the girls (esp Heather) have been so invaluable to me and my boy of late - recommend them to anyone who wants the best for their pets from the doggy doctor :) Read Less
