We used this practice for 10 years until recently when our dog Cola required some investigative work which became an ongoing insurance claim. Long story short, there was an outstanding balance of £55 which we assumed was part of the claim so assumed we did not need to pay. Within 4 weeks our personal information, including mobile telephone numbers, had been passed to a debt collection agency who added charges to the bill, which we have now settled. First Vets did not even think to phone us to explain the situation and were far too lax with our personal data, - we have now removed Cola from their list. Doing some research, it turns out that First Vets are not quite the small, independent practice they outwardly appear to be. They are in fact owned by CVS Group PLC, the biggest corporate veterinary business in the UK, worth £766 million at the time of writing - the strategy appears to be buying up small independent practices and turning them into profit centres. They now have over 450 practices. The CVS share price has increased by over 500% in the last 5 years so it's obvious where their true focus is - profit, not pets. We will now take Cola to a proper independent vet practice and recommend you do likewise. Read Less

I cannot thank the staff enough for all your help, with what i can only describe as a horrendous time. On Wednesday my lovely Cat Buster had to have a leg amputated, the staff reassured me and made the decision easier, as I was worried about the quality of life my Buster would have only having 3 legs. I would also like to thank the receptionist's who are very friendly and always helpful. Buster still has a long journey ahead of him, but with the support from First Vets I know he will make a full recovery. Thanks again Laura (P.S sorry for all the crying). Read Less
