Shocking responses from this Vets Practice when asking a legitimate question. Time for me to change practice. I was starting to lose faith after they had suggested a number of illnesses that my boy was suffering from which, thankfully, never materialised but caused me many sleepless nights and my feeling was they were guessing what was wrong which was not helpful to me. One of the suggestions was cushings disease, the main indication for this illness is hair loss and panting which my boy was showing no signs of. My boy, thankfully, has made a full recovery by himself. The final sickener was the cold and dismissive response from Kevin Brady (copy and paste job with quotes from RCVS website which did not answer the question I was asking) regarding emergency home visit options that are available but not displayed or promoted in the practice therefore, not giving clients options for a dog that was dying. Very cold response that lacked any empathy for the situation I was referring to. Tried initially to fob me off with data protection until I highlighted that I was not discussing personal cases but was asking for a response to my question. This used to be an excellent practice but they have lost their way. I do not trust Vets who do not display compassion to animals. He sounded more like a lawyer than a Vet. Read Less

I would never recommend this vet for anything other than routine booster jags. Never any constancy in the vet you see even with an ongoing illness. Fully blame them on the loss of our precious family member. We took our cat for an emergency appointment on Friday morning after he had been ill previous. The vet didn’t follow up on the previous information and had him in and out in 10 minuets. Quick examination some pointless medications and take your money. Later the same night we had to rush him to the emergency vet where he suffered a heat attack and died. Read Less

Literally life savers. We had our girl in and out of the vets for a suspected urine infection under the lovely Alena, Unfortunately it was difficult to get an exact diagnosis for her, not helped by her being a very stoical dog, but Alena kept a very close eye on her and told us exactly what to look for in terms of her becoming unwell. Unfortunately we awoke one morning last week to find our beloved Golden Retriever very unwell, I arrived at the surgery 45 minutes before it even opened and was relieved to see the light on, I shouted through the door that I had an emergency and everyone came running. I carried her in the door and was immediately met by Sam the Vet and Kat the nurse. After taking a great handover and gathering a history Sam and Kat got to work. I hadn't even got out the car park before Sam ran out with a diagnosis (pyometra) and a plan which he went over with me briefly whilst the team prepped our girl for surgery. Sam was kind and caring as was everyone in the surgery including the reception team, particularly Elizabeth who is always so cheerful and caring. Sam worked wonders, in spite of complications, and our girl pulled through, less than a week later, she's getting on great. We were also grateful for the Vets ER facilities available to us in order to have her looked after overnight after her surgery, which make us feel much more relaxed knowing she was staying under veterinary supervision overnight after her surgery. At all time, with all vets my girl (and us) were treated with care, compassion and dedication. It is very clear that all of the vets have the same dedication and compassion for animals that Mr Lawrie himself has. Mr Lawrie, even after all these years, is still one of the loveliest, most caring and compassionate vets I've ever came across and his team are a true reflection of that. My husband and I are will be forever grateful for the treatment our girl received that day and the treatment all of my furry family members have had over all of the years. Read Less

The final sickener was the cold and dismissive response from Kevin Brady (copy and paste job with quotes from RCVS website which did not answer the question I was asking) regarding emergency home visit options that are available but not displayed or promoted in the practice therefore, not giving clients options for a dog that was dying.
