Her claws grow inverted into her pads & she gets claws trimmed .As like most animals know they are at the vet's :) Although My cat looks as though butter wouldn't melt ! she was hissing , growling and a bit scared taking a wee tantrum with them , in the whole process .The vet and her assistant were good at calming her and took breaks to let her calm down a bit , they always do a good job . I Would recommend this vets practice and I am glad of this service , as i couldn't manage to do myself .. thank you :) staff are really nice and helpful and i wouldn't want to go anywhere else . Always extremely helpful and caring. From my experience they seem to try their best to avoid extortionate procedures unless they feel it's definitely necessary, and obviously without sacrificing the wellbeing of your pet. I've been coaxed into expensive and unnecessary procedures at other practices in the past, so this is a huge plus, and I trust their judgement completely. Read Less

Good practice with experienced staff I have used Una Maclean's practice for the past 18 years and have always found the staff friendly and very patient. We recently returned from holidays to find our staffy whilst staying at the kennels had pierced his paw and got an infection. The staff at Queens Crescent and in particular, Anne the senior nurse quickly sorted out an appt and got him booked in for surgery the next day. My dog was operated on and well taken care of over the various check up appointments over the past week. Can't thank them enough for their speedy care and attention! :) Read Less

Unfortunately, i had the worst experience ever with Queens Crescent Clinic. I tried to go through that experience many times, again and again, in order to see if it was my fault or any misunderstanding but i am afraid to say that the owner of the clinic might have to give a closer eye to the behavior of their employees. I do not want to describe my experience in details(i can do if anyone is interested to hear it) but i would like to highlights that they behaved 100% unprofessionally, especially the head Veterinary nurse of the clinic. Hopefully, i managed to solve the problem but i am still traumatize thinking what i suffered 2 months ago. The reason i am writing the review now is the fact that i have been so angry over the past 2 months therefore i tried to calm down myself and be more polite. Being fair though i have to say that i was happy with the staff at high street clinic. Not their fault and tried their best to solve the problem. Finally, given that i am a health professional my self as well, i would expect from a vet clinic to try their best to solve problems which regards live creature. A vet clinic is not a shop, its not a company.. its a CLINIC. Read Less

I have been using Una McLean Vet for almost three years now with my pups and I am really impressed with them. The decor its self is pretty basic and nothing special but the staff really make this place. I would much rather take my boys to a slightly shabby vet with lovely staff than the other way around. Our main vet Louise is an absolutely god-send when it comes to caring for my boys. I am a bit of a nervous mum and she always sets my mind at easy with her caring and reassuring manner. A few years ago she really helped to get me through caring for my first dog at the end of his life...really going above and beyond normal vet/patient relationship - including sending me a 'thinking of you' card with some lovely words about my dog, which was very nice of her. Louise is the first vet that I have had where I trust her opinion 100% without question. She always makes it clear that she cares for my dogs, even calling 'just to check' on them a few days after they have been into see her if they are unwell. All the other staff know my dogs and are always pleased to see them which instantly makes me happy and relaxed....they even look on indulgently as my oldest dog snoop barks like a mental case at other dogs. Only real negative is that they more often than not run late for appointments...but then I have never been to a vet that doesn't!A brilliant vets which I could not recommend enough. Read Less

Una's is a plesant, friendly family vets, where I have been only once. The reason for only 3 stars was because I find it difficult not to compare every vet to Ashley's vets in Anniesland. Una do provide a nice service, and the vets are nice to pets, remembering their names instead of the owners... Don't you love it when they do that, calling your whole family unit by the name roofus? lol. It cracks me up.Something I always look out for is if the vet is microchip trained, as sometimes they are not and have the complete wrong technique. I like and trust Una McLean a lot.She has been our family's vet for about 15 years and has continuously kept my dog in good health. Our animals always receive the best attention in here and the staff are very balanced, calm animal handlers. As far as vets go, treatments are often going to be fairly expensive. Our bills from here sometimes seem steep, but definitely worth it.Without exaggeration, Una and her crew have saved my dog's life a couple of times and she is still going strong at the ripe old age of 13. The staff are respectful and remember our animals, treating them like they are their own pets when we visit the practice. We also receive follow up phone calls when our animals have been treated, just to make sure everything is alright. The offices are welcoming and relaxed so although you may be concerned about your pet when you arrive, the staff and the atmosphere are designed to soothe both you and your animal. As far as vet's go, it's a nice, hygienic environment.Una has a solid, great reputation in this community and from the stellar standard of this surgery it's easy to see why. Read Less
