At the Brambles our aim is to provide you with all you require to enable your pet to live as long and healthy a life as possible. Whilst we are here to treat your pet 24 hours a day when he/ she is ill or injured, we feel it is equally important to provide you with good quality preventive healthcare advice to keep your pet in good working order throughout their life.
Our philosophy at the practice has its basis in the fact that we too are pet owners. We aim to provide you with all the information you will need to give your pet a long and healthy life.
History
The practice was established in 1971 by Ivor Smith as a small one vet practice to service the pets and farm animals of Churchdown. The practice progressed over the years gradually building up to a 3 vet practice by the mid 1990’s, with more emphasis on the family pet side of the practice.
In 1996 Neil Savill joined the practice and became a partner in 1998. The practice underwent a number of major changes in the following years, most notably the move into the new purpose built surgery in Albemarle Road, Churchdown. With the retirement of Ivor in 2001 the practice was taken on solely by Neil. The following years saw a number of major advancements which has brought the practice to where it is today - with the all the facilities of a modern veterinary hospital whilst still maintaining the traditional feel of a friendly village vets.

Took my anxious dog to have blood taken today. Equipped with muzzle and squeezy cheese, the vet and his lovely vet nurse took their time to make my dog feel comfortable and in no time at all blood was taken, heavily supported by some nice treats. Thank you for allowing my dog time and not rushing him to make him feel more anxious.

My little Maltichon dog has been through a bit of a tough time recently following a dog bite a few weeks ago. On Friday she had an op to repair a hernia but she managed to chew all the stitches out so this morning I had to call the duty vet. Emma came to my house to sedate Millie in order to transfer her back to the vets.. Emma has gone out of her way to help even though Millie has not been the nicest of dogs. She was patient and caring. I have managed to get her back home and settle her.. I'd like to say a big thank you to Emma for her professionalism in helping get Millie sorted and sewn back up ..

I have been with Brambles for quite some time. I will not be with them for much longer.
Lazy, many changes of staff over a short time is one but the final one is my pup. I took my pup for HER first...
I have been with Brambles for quite some time. I will not be with them for much longer.
Lazy, many changes of staff over a short time is one but the final one is my pup. I took my pup for HER first injection. She was checked over, HER documents had sex as "unknown". The vet registered HER as a "male" on the microchip. Apart from trying to sell me expensive shampoo and ear drops I cannot say the service is how it used to be.

Brambles is a brill vet surgery...I used to be with Stewart and piggot but changed vets when I saw how considerate brambles were to my overly timid peressa who because of his size people are normally scared of he had an operation and the vet lifted him very gently into the back of the car for me bless him...I now use brambles for my 4 dogs and 3 cats the staff are brill and really understand our beloved pets

Wanted to say a massive thank you to Tim and Karlien they operated on my dog Dexter to remove bladder stones after him having major trouble urinating and having removed a large amount of stones he is back to normal the team have been amazing! Me being a worried owner was great full for Tim keeping me up to date with everything they was going to do, and if there was any change! I would highly recommend brambles (church down) to everyone!

Took my anxious dog to have blood taken today. My little Maltichon dog has been through a bit of a tough time recently following a dog bite a few weeks ago. On Friday she had an op to repair a hernia but she managed to chew all the stitches out so this morning I had to call the duty vet.
