6 years ago on the 3rd March 2011 my 2 year old mare was brought in with a foal from an unplanned pregnancy. The foal was very big and mum was very small and it was very touch and go for a week in intensive care. My mare was called Darcey and her little colt was named Echo. This little man and myself have been to hell back, literally faced near death on several occasions. But the lesson I am trying to say is...never give up. From the day he was born we have faced adversity with courage, grace and dignity. We have many people to thank, without their kindness we would not be here together today. The Three Counties Equine Hospital, our dear friends Caroline Chadney and Derek Tyler to name just a few. Echo is now on long term loan with a very dear friend who understands his every need. Her knowledge is second to none! His mum Darcey is also on long term loan with another very dear friend and is doing eventing...and doing very well too! I am pleased to say that at nearly 50,I am now actually learning to ride my wonderful 20yr old mare.Darcey's mum,Echo's grandmother, the beautiful Scottish Dance. So thank you to all at Three Counties for all your help six years ago and for not giving up on who has turned out to be the most amazing horse I have been privileged to know and love. He is amazing! He stands at 17.3" and is every inch a handsome boy!Read Less

My boy was admitted Friday 13th Jan (yes you read that right Fri 13th ) after a horrendous day with possible colic and no response after being seen twice by our own vet. Three counties were great, cant recall full diagnosis but my boy had his colon on top of his spleen and this was his first ever colic episode! Thankfully he responded to medication and a good lunging, it popped back off! He then had to have food reintroduced and was home by Monday. I could see he was well cared for, he was so white & fluffy!! But we were also well cared for with regular phone calls to put us at ease. Such friendly supportive staff, cannot fault them. Thank you all from myself and Jim & I'm sorry it's taken so long to get my review on!! Read Less
