Had our pet Staffie Spayed through a Dog trust voucher as we're on Benefits PDSA wanted 130, my was told the cost was 35 when I took her in the young lady went through some paper work with some options for extras, I chose laser treatment to help with the healing. I got a call around 10am saying she'd had the surgery and she was fine but her blood pressure was a little low and they asked if they could give her some fluids there was no mention of any cost involved so said yes. I picked her up at 4pm I asked to pay and the lady said about the voucher from dogs trust I said about the laser treatment she then mentioned the fluids and said it was 51 I asked if that was the total bill and she said no that was for the fluids I nearly had a heart attack as only had 50 in my account and was going to give them the 50, I explained that there was no mention of this cost when they phoned and was not told this either when I first went in. The lady who was dealing with me was brilliant and tried to help by contacting dogs trust to see if they would cover it. My concern is now is that I signed a debt collectors agreement as I was going to pay now I'm worried as I've not got 50 to pay now or next month and worried they go to the debt collectors which will cost us even more money. They need to explain things better from the off like worse scenario this way I could of had the option of going ahead with it or not. The staff or lovely and friendly they can't be faltered just need to be more clearer on telling people potential cost involved. Luckily Dogs Trust covered the rest so need to say a big thank you to them. Again staff are lovely and friendly and very welcoming. Read Less

Another vet said my rescue cat had diseased teeth and they all needed to be extracted and that 'cats learn to cope very well without teeth'. This news was alarming to me but was advised this was the only course of action or my cat would die with blood poisoning. Whilst looking for a second opinion I contacted Anne Nelson vets, on recommendation, who instead extracted just 5 teeth and cleaned the others. The result being that Benny has had a wonderful clean bill of health and all of his other teeth still look great a year on. Dispite the hour drive from my home I will now only take my cat to Anne Nelson. The whole team are exceptionally friendly and helpful with a level of expertise you can completely trust. Your pet could not be given better care. Plus when Benny had anaesthetic for his teeth extraction they gave home a little tiger bandage where he had the injection. Completely unnecessary of course but such a cute thing to doRead Less

Great service for two years until I wanted to check if my dog was in heat. Went to them and they could not tell. Asked for a pre mate test and they did not know what it was (this is like a GP saying that they dont know what a pregnancy test is). My dog seems to have been pregnant and lost the puppies took her in for a scan and they could not tell if she was or was not pregnant, or if it was a phantom pregnancy. I complained about the lack of information their vet had but I was still be charged for the service. Anne Nelson herself called up and said sorry about this but you will need to find a vet that specialises in pregnancy and breading as we don't. What a load of rubbish it just that they are so busy that they can't be bothered to do things right and it would not bother them if they lost a few customers. Read Less
