My 15 years old cat has been treated for feline hyperthyroidism since April 2017 by Selsdon Vets, pharmacologically for the first two years and, once that treatment stopped controlling his thyroid activity, surgically in early April 2019. We carefully decided to have an operation with unilateral removal of the thyroid gland; it carried an element of risk for the cat not coping with the general anaesthesia at his age but it was the last resort as radiotherapy did not suit him.
I have been extremely well supported throughout the entire process of treatment and decision making, and the cat has received the best care I could ask for. The operation was very successful thanks to the expertise of the vets who conducted it, and the application of the skills and the attitude of the entire team involved at Selsdon. Needless to say, I am grateful and impressed and pleased to see my cat recovering and enjoying a good quality life. Read Less

If I could give this vets zero stars I would. I wouldn’t dream of ever bringing my pet here again... Not only are they only interested in money making over the health of your pet, Friday has to be one of the most unprofessional and one of the rudest veterinary physicians i have ever met.
A few years ago I took my 14 year old staffy here because he hadn’t been himself for a while and was loosing weight very quickly, I had seen a few lady vets over 15 months or so who were always pleasant, I went back to be seen by Friday and was advised to have my dog neutered, (this confused me as it was not related to the issue my dog was brought in with and the lady vet before this had been monitoring him and trying steroid injections to increase appetite) after explaining I didn’t want to interfere with Mother Nature unless it was risking his health as he was too old in my opinion to be put under for a unnecessary operation, I was questioned by Friday about weather I was on the contraceptive pill... this I found extremely inappropriate and I made sure I told him so, to then be told that we would all be walking round with 100 kids if we didn’t interfere with Mother Nature, I found him extremely rude and confrontational as a young woman on my own.
As you can imagine I left infuriated, embarrassed and terribly upset and no closer to knowing what was wrong with my poorly baby, and of course charged a small fortune for the unfortunate pleasure.
I have never quite forgotten this and honestly never quite got over the inappropriate rudeness of that man and the upset he caused me on that day.
I went on to find another vets who quickly diagnosed my dog properly and got him back to himself in no time with a simple diet plan. Read Less
