We have had our dogs registered with Walton Lodge since a pup but luckily never had any problems with either dog. We recently experienced an unexpected emergency with our dog who is 12 years old. We phoned within working hours asking to speak to a vet for some urgent help as we were unsure what the problem was. We were told by the receptionist that we would receive a phone call a soon as a vet comes free. We waited 1 hour and then made another phone call and were told the same thing. The phone line then got passed onto the out of hours team which then the vet wasn't around because the message didn't get passed on.There was no urgency from them to return the call and help us with our situation. After speaking to the out of hours vet we were told that no one could come out to see our unmovable dog until 12 noon the next day. We then resulted to registering with a new vets because we needed some professional help with this. Medivet in Enfield helped us with this situation and were at our house within the hour after registering. Read Less

Not very happy, my dog is registered with Walton lodge l phoned as I desperately needed to talk to a vet.The receptionist said vet would speak to me after surgery, didn't phone so I rang again I was told yet he same still no one phoned me . Third time phoned to be told vet could not come out to our pet not enough staff to cover,unbelievable .Had to call another vet who is on his way. Read Less

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! Our cat was taken in for a procedure to have part of his tail removed...the costs were astronomical! We had been quoted half the cost by other vets after the procedure had taken place. They also removed the stiches in the tail to early which would have incurred further costs had I not complained. Best of all the owner of Walton Lodge Veterinary Ltd tried to blame us for taking the cat back to early to have them taken out! They do not listen to concerns and in my opinion are run by cowboys who are looking to rip people off to continue to pay for their lavish lifestyles. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!! Read Less

We agreed to house two puppies for a day,as the vets had nobody in attendance at night.They were so ill,they should never have been released.One of them was bleeding constantly from its anus,whilst both were incapable of holding food in their stomachs.Before returning them,we phoned to warn of their degenerating condition,only to be told they were now 'our responsibility',and that we would have to pay for any treatment before they would let them back through the door. To say we were astonished,both by the response and the sneering attitude,is an understatement.There are no words to express our disgust at this veterinary practice.The RSPCA took an especially dim view of their behaviour,as can be well imagined. I realise that vets do not like stray and ill animals being foisted on them,but there is a duty of care which extends beyond mere money making.If you can at all avoid Walton Lodge,please do so. Left Walton lodge after they continuously prescribed drops to our dog even though they knew they where not working. When this was revealed and we complained the owner prescribed different drops and with in a week he was better. 18 months of pain and discomfort, nearly 2000 spent and all along they knew it wasn't working. I'm sure they will remove this post but just all be aware all they care about is money NOT the well fare of your beloved pets!!!!!! Read Less

Absolutely disgusting took my rabbit to have a check up was told her back teeth were bad and needed dental treatment 150 and to spay totalling 230 took her to separate vet to be told spay 65 and her back teeth needed rasping 20 what a difference absolute rip offs will not return Read Less

Would like to say a massive thank you to all at hoddesdon vets for the care you have given Daisy in the last week sadly I chose to put her to sleep today to rest in peace and to stop the suffering she was and would of gone through. The vet who took care of Daisy was lovely I couldn't fault her one bit very helpful and understanding and thank you so much for trying all you did and looking after her for me last couple of days you were very supportive through such a hard time for me. My dog has been under the Enfield vet for 4 years x 2months ago poor Scooby hurt his back leg rushed him to the vet by the time we got there nothing wrong with dog but was seen immediately to pacify my fears x than yesterday poor Scooby had a seizure phoned the vet and got the out of hours branch in Hoddesdon flew there with the dog got seen immediately but of course Scooby was fine by than x the vets, nurses & receptionist (sorry I didn't get names) where fabulous x thank god for pet insurance!! Registered at Harlow on Monday, was told registration would probably take 24 hours but received a telephone call from receptionist within 10 minutes. Made our first trip to see the vet this morning with two of our cats.Read Less

The vets and the rest of the team are fantastic. I've had my dogs registered here for around 7 years and wouldn't go elsewhere. Even if I live far, I'd rather travel the distance knowing my dog is going to receive the best care possible. Wooffsss from Bailey Read Less

Brought a puppy from a national re-homing centre, within 20 hrs it looked like it was going to die as it was so very ill. The homing centre didn't return any phone calls as the situation grew dire - it was only via Walton lodge stepping in that the re-homing centre did anything to get the medical treatment the dog desperately needed to live. They were excellent and saved the puppies life, thank you so very much, as Sunday was absolute hell and without Josies' help the situation would have been severe. Read Less

DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE TURNED AWAY A CAT IN NEED....My cat got attacked today by my neighbours dog and as it's a Sunday I googled out of ours vets as my normal vets do not have out of hours. I explained what had happened and the receptionist asked me if my cat and I were registered with them, when I explained no and my vets do not have an out of hours surgery, she advised they could not see my cat as she was not registered with them. What an absolute disgrace to turn away any sick pet, I thought vet surgeries were supposed to be compassionate animal lovers.....NOT at Walton Lodge Read Less

The team at Enfield is made of the nicest most caring staff ever, they have been looking after our 3 pets Fluffy, Pepper and Cheey for years and they are always available for help, advice, emergencies. I can't thank them enough for the way the have been taking care of my babies so many times, my 2 dogs are always so happy when they get to the surgery which is unusual but they must know how lovely everyone is there because they are always so excited to see the staff! I live in Chingford and even though I have vets nearer to me, Walton Lodge is the only vet I want to take my pets to, they are amazing! Read Less

Walton Lodge are a great team and having 5 dogs thats what I need , I know I can trust the vets and they will be there for me and my pets as its a 24 hour surgery in there Hoddesdon branch , nothing has ever been too much trouble and I do get good value , never feel ripped off as I have in other places , been using them now for a few years and would definitely recommend. To be honest if I could I would give them 0 stars.  When they first opened they were a good vets with friendly staff.  But they started to go down hill quite rapidly.  The prices became ridiculous but worst of all I blame them for the death of my beloved 8 year old dog Cassie :( She had a heart murmur which was only minor to start with which by the way they didn't diagnose.  Every time I took her to Walton Lodge Hoddesdon, when they checked her heart, I think only once did they notice she had a murmur, the other times I had to tell them!  And them they would listen to her heart again and go 'oh yes she has hasn't she' they never told me how bad it was getting or that she needed medication or anything.  I was there quite often with her as she had anal gland problems so they checked her heart regularly. She got kennel cough pr so they said, which I thought was weird as she barely went near other dogs.  She had a horrible hacking cough.  Then earlier this year about March, she suddenly lost the use of her back leg and I could see she was in agony even though she never cried bless her.  So I rang them, explained what was wrong and she was in pain and they said to bring her down and hopefully the vet could fit her in! I went straight down with her, the receptionist was rude and unhelpful.  Poor Cas could not get comfy and started to whimper which she never does.  It was 5.15pm when we arrived and around 7.30pm before the vet looked at her.  All he said was he thought it was a sprain and gave her metacam, he said he could try to x-ray to check for a break but I would have to wait until after everyone went home, when I said she had heart  murmur, he said she would have to be awake for it! She was trying to hide as in so much pain, he didn't seem bothered.  Of course by the time they x-rayed her he couldn't as she wouldn't stay still.  Well duh she was in agony! So he said go home and if no better by next day bring her back.  I took her home but knew she wasn't right and soon as got in I felt the foot of the leg she couldn't walk on and it was cold compared to her others.  Straight away I thought its a blood clot, now I'm no vet but how come I knew this and a vet that is meant to be trained and charges a fortune by the way, didn't even notice this! So rang him back and he said they had a machine to see if there is a pulse in that leg. So back we went, but low and behold it only works on front legs, why he never said that in the first place! He said again we can take her home or he could refer her to the Royal Vets, straight away I said refer her.  He rang them to see if they could see her, I wish I just went there in the first place.  Finally he said yes we could go, but not before charging us about £80 to refer her that's not including the charge for earlier.  By time we got to Royal Vets it was past 9pm.  She had been in agony that whole time.  The RVC took her straight away and were brilliant.  They asked what our vets had given her and I said metacam.  He was shocked and said we have put her on morphine as she was clearly in agony and yes it was a blood clot.  She had to stay in and when we went back they then told us the awful news that she was in the final stages of heart failure.  I was so upset and angry, why had Walton Lodge not noticed her murmur getting so bad and put her on medication! It turns out she never had kennel cough it was her heart murmur symptoms! We started her on medication for her heart and thinners for her blood clot and physio to help her get the use back in her leg.  But to be honest it was to late the damage to her heart was irreversible :( I went to Walton Lodge to complain about how long she was left in agony and the heart murmur, one of the nurses was there and started to have a moan back at me saying she was there and it wasn't like that at all on the night! By this time I was livid.  I sent a complaint to the owner of Walton Lodge, no surprises I got no response not even a phone call.  I changed vets straight away.  But by July Cassie was getting worse, barely slept and paced as couldn't get comfy, she lost her energy and looked so sad it was heartbreaking.  As I write this i am crying.  Me and my family made the hardest decision I have ever made which was to have her put to sleep.  I didn't want her to be suffering.  I still haven't got over her death she was my baby and the thought of her suffering and me not knowing breaks my heart, I feel so guilty.  But the anger I feel about Walton Lodge is unbelievable.  I warn you all do not use them.  All they care about is money not the well being of your beloved pet.  If I could guess my dog has a blood clot with no vet training and a vet can't well there is no hope!  They should be closed down.  They couldn't even be bothered to apologize.  They disgust me. One thing I've learned in the last several months:  moving your dog overseas is one giant pain in the ass.  I'm always pleased to find that there are people out there that actually know what's going on, because I sure don't!  Walton Lodge has become my vet-of-choice for my fur kid.  Reasons why we love them:* They knew all the rules with pet immigration.  I forget them all the time.*  Friendly staff that absolutely fawned all over my dog, which he loved.  *  Flexibility - I was 20 minutes late because I'm a dumbass and they still got me in reasonably soon.* The vet that saw us was very good with Muggle and gave him a thorough once-over.  She discovered an ear infection I didn't know he had!  * The office is huge and very clean.  There's no weird poo or wet dog smells here at all.* The 24 hour emergency service.  this would have been extremely handy two years ago when my puppy chewed open and drank a bottle of Pine-sol in the middle of the night!We were in and out within half an hour, newly vaccinated, nails clipped and a bottle of medicine for the ear infection.    It's such a relief to find someone I trust to take care of my best friend!
