Female vet was hostile, complained when my cat scratched her and could barely speak English. When I paid for my cats treatment the prices are extortionate and despite asking for a breakdown of treatment provided that day, they refused to provide this and just gave me the printed visa receipt. She listened all my questions and was helpful to find the best solution for traveling abroad with Panxo in the best safety way. I want to mention as well that she did not push me to unnecessary expensive tests or insurances like I was before in other Vet centres and I really really appreciate this as well. The lady on the reception was also so kind and help me to have the most convenient paying option for me. Honest, kind and professional service. I’ll absolutely recommend it. Read Less

We had an horrible experience last week in this place. Our dog was feeling unwell during the night so we had to bring her as an emergency. The vet in charge wasn't proactive at all! We had to say what we think he should do - maybe because he kept asking 'should we do that?' - and wasn't able to give a proper evaluation of our dog's condition. In the end, after doing a blood test that showed that her kidney wasn't well, we were told that apart fro that she seemed 'normal' - even if we said she wasn't - and that we should go home and come back there for more tests in the morning. And he didn't even said goodbye or anything to us - just went to the back and the vet nurse saw our way out. Our dog died 5 hours later. I have been with medivet risedale for in excess of 10 years. I cannot rate them high enough for being friendly or caring. Their extremely helpful and they go that extra mile on many occasions. I have 2 cats and 1 dog and sadly I had to say goodbye to her in 2015. To her the vets was her second home and she loved going there. The whole process of saying goodbye was extremely hard but to their credit all the staff were brilliant in what was a very sad day and I know that they care so passionately about all the animals that cross their threshold. I now have another dog who I rescued and was nervous but after a couple of visits she now loves going there too. I consider myself very lucky to have such a wonderful team looking after my babies because that's exactly what they are and I am never worried about leaving them there because I know they will always look after them as if they were their own. So Risedale. Kyumi Nicola Steph Sarah Rachael you are all awesome and do a brilliant job. I know you will always keep up the good work. Thankyou.Read Less

Three cats, aging from 16 to 3. One has an impressive pedigree, two are girls, two are grey, two are laid-back, two love Dreamies, one needs regular claw-clipping, one is over 6kg, one has Colitis, one has had a Thyroidectomy, one has been spayed... twice (before we owned her). They all have one thing in common; they get amazing care and attention from MediVet-Ark Aid, Poole. The staff are wonderful, warm, kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable and make one feel that one is the only client that matters. They truly go above and beyond to look after our beloved animals. My dog Molly had treatment in the Carpenders park branch for a lump on her eye, she had it removed all seemed good regarding payment from the insurance then I was asked for 54.74 extra, why I asked when I was covered and had paid my excess of 80, it seemed they went for a very expensive HISTOLOGY test rather than the 62.98, rather than asking me if this was alright they tried to get it of my insurers, and they said they will not cover it, as it was unnecessary. I then had a nasty letter from Medivet saying this can't continue, and payment had to be made !!!!!!!! , I had never received a letter from then about any money, so I rang the branch at Carpenders Park and asked what was going on, the receptionist took the message and said she will look into it, nothing happened, so a week later went it there and asked what was happening, she took a message and said she will get back to me, again nothing, then Anna was on holiday so another message was left, why should I pay extra money for something that was NOT neccary and no one at this branch knew why it was charged, was unhappy and think I will be taking my 2 dogs elsewhere for treatment as I feel the trust has gone which is a shame as I have been going there for 6 years Not happy at all, I know you have to make money but reallyRead Less

Our cat had a scab on her leg which I was a bit worried about. Our usual vet was fully booked on my day off so we came here. The vet said she thought it was probably just a scratch from the garden, which we'd suspected. However, she then said it could be ringworm, fungus or mites. Knowing that none of these things would be life threatening to the cat, my partner suggested we just see if the wound healed itself over a week. The vet got quite pushy about doing the tests and because I couldn't check what any of those things looked like I went ahead with the tests. As soon as we got into the waiting room I googled 'ringworm' and could see that my cat categorically did not have it. I felt pretty duped. The bill came to about 160, and as suspected, she had none of the ailments we'd tested for, although the vet was late getting back to us with all the test results. The vet insisted we buy a collar for her which we didn't end up putting on her. I also asked for her microchip ID so I could change address. They gave me the wrong microchip ID and when I called to change it, Petlog informed me I had been given the ID for a ragdoll kitten (not my cat). I then called the vet and they gave me another ID. It was also for a different pet. Total incompetence on every level. These people are cowboys. Read Less

These guys in Dalston are great and helped when my kitten was very sickly, even though we had to keep going back to get rid of the problem. They are also sympathetic to nervous pet owners - when I left my cat for the day after he had the chop, they told me they gave him lots of cuddles and that he was everyone's favourite for the day. The vets themselves have a lovely manner and don't rush appointments or make you feel like you are wasting your time, and when I called up several times to check if something was normal (like I said, a nervous pet mum!), the ladies on the phone were always helpful and had a vet call me back to discuss free of charge. Along Dalston Lane there's a row of the most disreputable shop fronts you've ever seen. Mostly boarded up, several burnt out. If the road wasn't so busy you'd avoid it at all costs. Stuck in this row of unfortunates, the front of Abbey Vets is so small you'd easily miss it. But if you do notice it, you'll see a difference. The tiny windows are bright with green plants. Inside the tiny waiting room is bright and clean. There's only room for four or five chairs, a couple of stands of foods and accessories and a big notice board. In back they only have one small consulting room. To be honest I haven't used them as a vets for a few years: as my cats have become older and their health issues more complex I've not been able to afford a private vets and so go to the local RSPCA hospital. I remember them as being efficient: generally you'd be able to get an appointment quickly, wait only a few minutes and have results of blood tests the next day. My cats were also neutered there (on a voucher scheme for low income folks which they take part in) and later had dentals, all of which went well. I still drop in occasionally for something I can't get elsewhere. Recently I've been going to get prescription diet. It was nice to find they still had my cats on the computer, and I haven't been able to find the foods I'm buying cheaper, even on the internet. Going in is always a pleasure: the receptionist is nice (though you may have to wait while she takes a call or sorts out another customer: this place is busy!) and there's a nice atmosphere.

I would have no hesitation in recommending them to another pet owner. Read Less

The quality of the care is first class, but the cost is an utter rip off. We paid 3k in total when our cat had a blocked bladder. My advice is to fine somewhere that does over charge you in this way.

These amazing vets saved my dog's life this week by removing a foreign object (an acorn) from her intestines. They helped make sure she was all covered by the insurance and also helped with the direct claim. They called me with regular updates at every stage of her treatment and recovery. They sent us home incredibly prepared with everything we need for home care too. All the staff are genuinely caring and amazingly skilled. The hospital itself is very well equipped and ready for any animal emergency. Cannot recommend these guys highly enough. Read Less

Can't recommend enough. Read Less

The Vet I saw was Jason Stivano, he was amazing, very caring and explained everything. I couldn't have got better care for my pet or met friendlier staff anywhere else. The treatment cost was very low and the care and aftercare were faultless. I am very impressed and would recommend this Vet and this surgery to anyone . Thank you Jason and staff for your help.
