This vet surgery is ok for tiny run of the mill things wrong with a dog or cat. Doesn’t give out antibiotics freely and unnecessarily and is cheap relative to chains. But… and it is a big but… if there is anything wrong with your pet that isn’t run of the mill and easily fixed, they really can’t help. It’s difficult to get appointment… the receptionists are lovely but have taken on the task in the spirit of nhs gps receptionists with a view to restrict access to the actual vet unless they, unqualified people think it necessary. I was with them for nearly 7 years and have had a mixed experience over time in relation to response and actual expert care. The final straw for me with them was that when I called a few days ago because my dog was dying and basically needed to be seen and most probably euthanised… I was very clear about the desperate state of my dog… but they said they were simply too busy and said that unless there was a cancellation, the earliest they could see her was the following morning. I took her to Wolfe vets in fulham who were fabulous and she was euthanised with renal failure about 4 hours after Addison Vets had said they had no time. So I truly counsel people to take care in using these vets… if you just need an annual vaccination fine and cheap… but anything requiring real care or expertise, you should perhaps research and go elsewhere.

Wonderful vet, old school doesn’t do any unnecessary costly work, but nothing is too much trouble. Mr Carmichael always gives excellent diagnostic measured advice balanced with love. He was fabulous with my German Shepards, George and Harold and now my pug too can pop in and be cheered by the wit and camaraderie of the reception staff, before being treated by this very wise vet.

The only vet I trust with my dogs - I have had over 5 in the last 10 years. Dr Carmicheal and his staff are extremely caring individuals who only want the best for their patients. My older dog has been going here for the past 5 years and this has been the only practice where he hasn’t shown any signs of distress - previously he would have to be muzzled before any vet would go near him. Dr Carmicheal took the time to ensure my boy felt comfortable being in his presence.
The kindest thing Dr Carmicheal did for me as an owner was to allow me to hold my boy in my arms when he was sedated for a heart scan. He could see I was extremely upset by the whole situation so sedated my boy, allowed him to fall asleep in my arms and let me sit in the back room with him when the scan took place.
My newer addition is now also a patient and I could not recommend this practice enough. All the staff do it for the love of the job and the animals they treat.

Our vet for the past 4.5 years, we absolutely love Dr Carmichael and his “second in command” Sarah. They are both lovely and beyond helpful. Dr Carmichael is highly experienced, and I love that he always uses the approach that’s best for the animal and never runs unnecessary tests (vs American vets I was used to). Our four pets have been in excellent hands here!

Took my Chihuahua here for a check-up and straight away I noticed the staff were friendly and professional. Andrew gave some really great advice and was very honest. This veterinary clinic is the best and most reasonably priced clinic I have ever been to. They are genuinely interested in the health and well-being of your pet, rather than your money. 10/10

Fabulous reception - like a little country house with farm products being sold. Staff were friendly and knowledgable. Vet is from the old school - experienced, friendly and will recommend what is necessary rather than the new business upselling that i'm used to. Other owners I spoke to have had pets going there for years & say the vet will always squeeze you in if worried. Highly recommended

This is a lovely old-fashioned vet's surgery, with an impressive photo of a lion above the counter and a fat black cat named Shadow on same who loves all the attention.It is located in one of the area's most beautiful roads and you feel like walking back in time for the duration of your visit.Dr Carmichael and his staff really care about the animals they treat (unlike some other vets I've been to who try and sell you unnecessary and expensive treatments ) and make you, and most importantly your pet, feel at ease.Special bonus: you can also buy some of the best olive oil here!

This vet surgery is ok for tiny run of the mill things wrong with a dog or cat. Doesn’t give out antibiotics freely and unnecessarily and is cheap relative to chains. But… and it is a big but… if there is anything wrong with your pet that isn’t run of the mill and easily fixed, they really can’t help. Wonderful vet, old school doesn’t do any unnecessary costly work, but nothing is too much trouble. Mr Carmichael always gives excellent diagnostic measured advice balanced with love. The only vet I trust with my dogs - I have had over 5 in the last 10 years. Dr Carmicheal and his staff are extremely caring individuals who only want the best for their patients.
