The team at Canonbury vet looked after our beloved dog for the last 9 years during her various complex medical issues. Lovely reception staff- ( esp Sasha and Luisa) who really care and gave Loop lots of treats and care. Efficient and helpful arranging appointments and completing insurance claim forms. Having moved down from Manchester we were without a vet for our two fur babies, then we stumbled upon this place and they look after not only them but us as well. Lexi has been going to Canonbury vets for almost 3 and a half years now mostly to have weight checks until a few weeks ago when she had problems with her eyes... On Saturday, we came in with our dog Marvin who is a bit of a nightmare for eating things he shouldn't. It turned out he was very, very ill and Russell and the team went above and beyond to save his life. While he's not out of the woods yet, he's showing signs of improvement and starting to look like his old self. I worked at Canonbury Vet Practice with Russell, Dylan and their team many years ago and have continued to visit every so often over the last 15 years whilst having remained working in the field elsewhere. Excellent service - the vets and the nurses all seem to genuinely care about our little moggies, and they remember them from visit to visit. I have always found them helpful on the phone and they will happily impart advice that way if they can. Sometimes they are running a little late and you have to wait. The emergency out of hours practice they are linked to in Belsize Park are also fantastic, reassuring, and have made really helpful suggestions which meant I did not in the end need to come in.Read Less

I thought a long time before posting this, as I wanted to be fair. First time I went, the cat was passing blood. The vet took him in did a raft of tests and recommended a full body scan. When I explained (again) that I didn't have insurance, he cut the bill (nice of him, but...) and said the cat wouldn't need a full body scan and cut the list of further tests down. Also lectured me on the importance of having insurance. As it turned out he basically had cystitis, none of this was necessary, and just upsetting to the cat. My doctors do a simple test and treat cystitis without all the extra nonsense. I felt he was just taking money because he thought I'd sign off. This bumps up everybody's insurance premiums, so we're all paying for it anyway, and is why I put aside the money I would normally pay for insurance rather than giving it to a third party. The last time, he had a raft of ailments. They were much better at keeping the tests to a minimum, but the drugs recommended were so expensive! I took him to another vets and was charged half the price for his drugs. I daresay they're good and friendly, nice premises etc, if you don't mind how much practices like these push up your insurance premiums, but otherwise I'd recommend avoiding. Read Less

i went here last week as my dog had fleas the vet told us he had a.s.d we ended up spending 90 the vet told us he put flea stuff on i have just this second found a flea on my dog im very angry i would not recommend this vets at all my dogs skin is bad thanks to the vets!!!!! Read Less
