Not recommended for exotics. After they found a lump on a routine visit, my rabbit was given pain meds which made him lethargic, I wasn't alerted to this and noticing the change in behavior when I got him home, thought I was losing him quickly. The vet also told me "statistics don't matter" when I was trying to understand the likely diagnoses. I was brought in for a follow up appointment for an ultrasound when they didn't have anyone available to conduct it (the cost of this appointment was eventually refunded). Half of the pain of I experienced this month losing my pet was from the week of panic caused by the vet giving me bad and partial information.
Similar to other comments, they told me they would recommend removing the tumor (that they didn't actually scan to confirm it was a tumor?) only if I was rich. Very weird thing to say to a person crying over their pet.

It is with a heavy heart that i write this review
Firstly i would just like to say that the receptionist staff hear are fantastic and friendly, sadly i came to bring my beloved dog in to see Russell as i had been recommended by a friend ,after explaining about my dogs lyphoma on her side and being examined ( i had explained that i had removed it twice before with another vet )i was asked how much i had paid before and was told that because i had paid so little(800 to 900 pounds) that was probably why it hadnt worked ! When i then asked if it would be better if she had a scan to see if there was anything inside causing the lyphoma,i was told that if i had a bentley or rolls parked outside he could refer me to the best specialists in the country and that it would cost 5,500.00 but if he did it by going deeper and wider leaving the wound open if he had to for 2,500.00
Within a month later after seeing two more vets for second opinions it turned out she had a huge stomach tumour the size of an orange,the scan plus other tests including the saddest decision to euthanize and cremation cost 1500.00 , i am devastated by the loss of my angel but thank god i didnt listen to Russells advice as she would not have had such a peacefull ending.

I needed my regular flea treatment for my dog so I want to this place which I have often used as a pet shop. They would only sell me the flea treatment, however, if I was registered with their vet. This is obviously unecessary for the product itself as I have bought it before online and I know all about my dog in terms of weight and last treatment. They could have asked me those questions but instead just refused to sell. Pointless and making life difficult.

Lovely reception staff- ( esp Sasha and Luisa) who really care and gave Loop lots of treats and care. Efficient and helpful arranging appointments and completing insurance claim forms.
Laura was great vet - Thanks so much for your time and attention. Russell was very caring as was Suzanne and all the other vets we have seen

On Saturday, we came in with our dog Marvin who is a bit of a nightmare for eating things he shouldn't. It turned out he was very, very ill and Russell and the team went above and beyond to save his life. While he's not out of the woods yet, he's showing signs of improvement and starting to look like his old self. I can't recommend this practice highly enough, they're the most dedicated vets I've experienced (and with Marvin, that's quite a few vets!)

I worked at Canonbury Vet Practice with Russell, Dylan and their team many years ago and have continued to visit every so often over the last 15 years whilst having remained working in the field elsewhere. The practice has continually evolved, striving for better and more sophisticated medicine, surgery and diagnostic options for its patients. A recent visit with my husband (a vet and practice owner) left us blown away. The facilities at Canonbury are truly state of the art; no expense spared in creating standards of clinical care and excellence rarely seen. Everything you see at Canonbury Vet Practice is driven by Russell's absolute passion for doing the very best possible for pets in his and his team's care. Whether he is selecting the most competent veterinary surgeons, the most caring nurses and receptionists or striving for best practice methods or identifying the finest diet or toy available, I don't think I have ever come across anyone in the veterinary industry who cares so deeply about doing the best they can for animals. He is truly an inspiration. Congratulations to the team at Canonbury who love their work so much and have created such an incredible, ground breaking practice.

Excellent service - the vets and the nurses all seem to genuinely care about our little moggies, and they remember them from visit to visit. I have always found them helpful on the phone and they will happily impart advice that way if they can.
Sometimes they are running a little late and you have to wait.
The emergency out of hours practice they are linked to in Belsize Park are also fantastic, reassuring, and have made really helpful suggestions which meant I did not in the end need to come in.

I thought a long time before posting this, as I wanted to be fair.
First time I went, the cat was passing blood. The vet took him in did a raft of tests and recommended a full body scan. When I explained (again) that I didn't have insurance, he cut the bill (nice of him, but...) and said the cat wouldn't need a full body scan and cut the list of further tests down. Also lectured me on the importance of having insurance. As it turned out he basically had cystitis, none of this was necessary, and just upsetting to the cat. My doctors do a simple test and treat cystitis without all the extra nonsense. I felt he was just taking money because he thought I'd sign off. This bumps up everybody's insurance premiums, so we're all paying for it anyway, and is why I put aside the money I would normally pay for insurance rather than giving it to a third party.
The last time, he had a raft of ailments. They were much better at keeping the tests to a minimum, but the drugs recommended were so expensive! I took him to another vets and was charged half the price for his drugs.
I daresay they're good and friendly, nice premises etc, if you don't mind how much practices like these push up your insurance premiums, but otherwise I'd recommend avoiding.

After they found a lump on a routine visit, my rabbit was given pain meds which made him lethargic, I wasn't alerted to this and noticing the change in behavior when I got him home, thought I was losing him quickly. Whether he is selecting the most competent veterinary surgeons, the most caring nurses and receptionists or striving for best practice methods or identifying the finest diet or toy available, I don't think I have ever come across anyone in the veterinary industry who cares so deeply about doing the best they can for animals. He is truly an inspiration. Congratulations to the team at Canonbury who love their work so much and have created such an incredible, ground breaking practice.

Excellent service - the vets and the nurses all seem to genuinely care about our little moggies, and they remember them from visit to visit. I have always found them helpful on the phone and they will happily impart advice that way if they can.
Sometimes they are running a little late and you have to wait.
The emergency out of hours practice they are linked to in Belsize Park are also fantastic, reassuring, and have made really helpful suggestions which meant I did not in the end need to come in.

I thought a long time before posting this, as I wanted to be fair.
First time I went, the cat was passing blood. The vet took him in did a raft of tests and recommended a full body scan. When I explained (again) that I didn't have insurance, he cut the bill (nice of him, but...) and said the cat wouldn't need a full body scan and cut the list of further tests down. Also lectured me on the importance of having insurance. As it turned out he basically had cystitis, none of this was necessary, and just upsetting to the cat. My doctors do a simple test and treat cystitis without all the extra nonsense. I felt he was just taking money because he thought I'd sign off. This bumps up everybody's insurance premiums, so we're all paying for it anyway, and is why I put aside the money I would normally pay for insurance rather than giving it to a third party.
The last time, he had a raft of ailments. They were much better at keeping the tests to a minimum, but the drugs recommended were so expensive! I took him to another vets and was charged half the price for his drugs.
I daresay they're good and friendly, nice premises etc, if you don't mind how much practices like these push up your insurance premiums, but otherwise I'd recommend avoiding.
