Moved over to Hills Vet after our old vets was bought out by a chain, which resulted in their service levels dropping. Best decision we've ever made. Mrs Hill has been an amazing vet, offering support and advise whenever we needed her. Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to our boy last November, and he was quite poorly in the last year, which meant we were on the phone or in the clinic almost every week, just looking for guidance. And she never made us feel unwelcome. When we asked about doing another test or what treatment could be offered next, Mrs Hill was very open and honest about what would and wouldn't help, so we never paid for treatments or tests that weren't needed or helpful. We also adopted a cat from them two years ago, and they've been amazing with his treatment as well. I've just registered my father's dog at their clinic as well, and have no doubt it's the right decision. There is no one I would trust more when it comes to the health of my pets than the vets at Hills. Given half a chance, I'd go to them for my own treatments! Read Less

AMAZING VET 5 I have a GSD 50kg and he has a massive fear of vets. Gets very aggressive towards them and nobody else. I have tried 4 different local vets and each time my dog was totally stressed, I honestly taught he would die on the spot. I heard of this vets and taught I'd give her a try, but explained prior to going there to Mrs Hill about his aggression. Went there and she sat with him letting him smell her with no problems at all but when it was time to touch his paw ( as it was sore) his mood changed. I knew in my heart and soul going there that the only way she would be able to have a look at him, would be to knock him out completely. Which she did. Had a good look at him STRESS FREE FOR HER,ME AND THE DOG and got to find his problem. She is my vet from now on. I won't be as nervous taking him to the vet in future as I have done in the past. Worst vet I ever came across, Unprofessional, unethical and don't take responsibility. When you choose your vet everything is usually fine and everyone is nice. It is only when bad things happen that you truly know who you are dealing with. About a year ago my husband and I wanted to take our dog with us to a country outside the EU. We went to our vet (Hills Veterinary service in Crouch end) to get advice on how the process goes and how we should prepare with vaccinations, tests, etc. We spoke with Mark Graham a Veterinary Surgeon. Mark was very nice and has showed confident in the field. He has mentioned that no blood tests are required for the specific country we were going to apart from the warms tablets when coming back to the UK. We followed his advice and went to our holiday. If Mark would tell us that he was unsure about something we would have definitely have checked it ourselves. About a week before coming back to the UK we called the UK boarders to let them know we are travelling with a pet. The UK borders have responded that we should have done a blood test to our dog 3 months before arriving back to the UK. In short it meant we had to do a blood test to our dog and wait 3 months abroad before returning. Shocked and confused, we have called Mark to ask him about this. He admitted to the mistake (after reading a bit on the internet on his own) and apologised. He was trying to be nice and mentioned that the Hills Veterinarian will try to do everything they can in helping us with the situation. A day later I received a call from Carol Hill the owner of the place who have mentioned that they will take no responsibility on the matter and they don't want to receive any more calls on the subject from us. Carol Hill refused to take responsibility and continued to mention that it was our responsibility to check these things. After 5 minutes on the phone Carol became was extremely impatient with us and told us we have wasted enough of their time on the matter and this is totally our responsibility to check these things. We ended up staying for 3 months abroad with our dog which was to be extremely expansive and uncomfortable. We really needed support and advice on the matter but were shocked from the way this was handled. They handled it completely unprofessional and unethical. Nothing you would expect from the people responsible on your pets health. When asking your doctor for advice, you usually trust him/her that they know their facts. If Mark would show any doubt on the matter we would have gone and checked it ourselves, but since he showed confidence and it is his profession, we completely trusted him. In case they are unsure about something, they should just say that they are unsure instead of giving misleading information. I would expect much more from the people who are responsible for the health of my dog.Read Less

The people have been very nice, however they are very unprofessionals and do not take any responsibility for their actions. I have took my dog for teeth cleaning. I have strictly asked them to contact me if they have any questions or need to do anything else than agreed. After a few hours they have called me and said that they have removed 16 teeth out of his mouth without consulting me first. I don't mind the amount this have cost (500), although I was much more concerned about the fact that they didn't even bother to ask me any permission. After it happened I have asked the place why they haven't called me to ask for permission. They mentioned they don't ask any permission and just do what they think is best. I have spoke with other people who have used to take their pets there and got very negative reviews on this place. Your vet is no different from your doctor and should have responsibility. Please make sure you check the place you take your pets carefully. I would never take my dog again to that horrible place and will recommend anyone using their services to ask them before hand about their policies.Read Less
