Please read this review before considering bringing your dog or cat here: Our experience with Zazman Medivet and Hendon Medivet ( their affiliate hospital ) has cost us the life of our beautiful healthy dog - Willow. Bringing Willow to Medivet will always be my biggest regret in life. She got extremely sick after being treated there and unfortunately never recovered. The experience we had with both of the Medivet practices has been truly horrific; from negligence, unprofessionalism, dishonesty, lied to, lied about, acting against our instructions, being taken advantage of to lack of informed consent. As part of a multination corp, they push you to give vaccines to your dogs and cats saying that they are core vaccines that are due, which is not the case, they are actually optional vaccines which they will never tell you! Our dog got critically ill just a few days after receiving a double vaccine which was only 2 weeks after her receiving her rabies vaccine. Prior to these vaccines, she was given a full bill of health. Willow spent almost a week at their Hendon hospital and unfortunately passed away 5 days later. When we queried the correlation between the vaccine and Willows death it was instantly shut down, denied and judged impossible. We also got laughed at by a vet at Hendon Medivet called ‘Tashy’ claiming we are ‘not educated enough to understand’. After a lack of informed consent surrounding the vaccines, being lied to, lied about ourselves on our dogs medical history to cover any liability and being abused by the vet ‘Tashy’ at Hendon Medivet, we had enough and had to ask for this vet to be removed from Willow’s case due to serious concerns about her ability to care for our dog. This was not only conveniently not added to the medical history but also replaced by awful unacceptable lies about us. After dealing with this traumatic experience and losing the life of our beloved pup, they finally sent the autopsy report over email with an immediate threat of sending debt collector to us if we don’t pay the full bill by the following day. We were originally offered a payment plan and had been proactive in getting this set up, 3 weeks prior this threatening email we asked for the process to start our payment plan, which they never replied to. We have since had to send a formal complaint to medivet to report both Zazman Hampstead and Hendon Medivet for negligence, unprofessionalism, lack of informed consent and dishonesty. They still haven’t gotten back to us. We have been in touch with the Royal Veterinary College of Surgeons who, after hearing our experiences, recommended we file a report and to contact their VCMS team due to concerns about negligence, dishonesty, lack of informed consent and unprofessionalism. We sent a formal complaint to Medivet to report both Zazman Medivet Hampstead and Hendon Medivet for negligence, unprofessionalism, lack of informed consent and dishonesty. They still haven’t gotten back to us over two weeks later. The Royal Veterinary College of Surgeons, the Veterinary worlds overseer, are due to launch an investigation into both practices. Please if you care about your pet do not bring them here. Go to an independent vet that isn’t owned by Medivet. I wish I knew. My dog would most likely be alive if she had been treated by a vet that actually has years of experience and genuinely care about animal wellbeing. I would hate to know that another dog / pet owner will go through what we are currently going through. Read Less

Our 1-year old healthy cat DIED within 48hrs after routine dental cleaning and teeth removal at zasman vet hampstead. (August 2021) Absolutely no support from zasman after it happened and now we are grieving with a total of 3,700 pounds bill to take care of. The main response from the vet following this tragic event was "you signed a waiver in front of me" and "well it happens". Their communication was honestly DREADFUL, they would not even give us updates after they dropped the cat at the emergency clinic (even though the head nurse said she would) . This vet is good when everything goes ok but if something goes wrong, just expect them to take as much money from you as they can and they won't feel sorry for it. As of now, I am REALLY not sure they even care for the pets. We created a full report and are raising a formal complaint for negligence leading to death. Zasman now said they will take up to another 3 MONTHS to come back to us. They are probably taking their time hoping we give up but just making it worse. Anyway, Never take your pet for a dental surgery there except if you're happy to risk your pets life! Read Less

All round we received thoughtful, complete service and care. From the little touches such as the courtesy call at 7pm to remind me to remove my pet's food in preparation for surgery the following morning, to the call home to check in on our pets post surgery, and the warmth and openness of the reception staff, I would highly recommend this practice. Although it is not the cheapest vet in Hampstead (I can think of another chain that is not to this standard but charges more) they thankfully have none of the mercenary and commercially 'coercive' style that many other practices adhere to, whereby you are offered lots of services of questionable necessity and should you elect to pass them up, for which you are made to feel guilty. Instead they talked through probabilities of outcomes, possible treatments and ancilliary tests that are on offer, without any emotional manipulation. The highlight was bringing my cats back post neutering, for a check up on day 4, to be seen by the man himself Dr Zasman, who was very down to earth and kind. For about £230 both cats were neutered (male and female) and this included the follow-up check up. Read Less

I feel incredibly lucky to have been recommended Zasman vet when I got my rescue dog Teddy 4 weeks ago. The staff have all been amazing. My dog was extremely unwell and all of the vet team went out of their way to do all the tests that were needed whilst reassuring me of his progress whilst he was in their care. Zasman are the best Vet Practice(s) in North London. They have a caring, sensible and well thought out approach to animal care and recovery. They helped one of my cats recover from a pelvic fracture after being run over. The care and attention that both my cat and myself (the very worried owner) received was both personalised and First Class. Late night emails and updates were sent by email and text during his 2 week stay in the surgery. Currently they are helping every step of the way with my other cat who has a rare congenital situation. I recommend Zasman to all my clients and their pets. Thank God for Zasman's, Hampstead. Friendly, reassuring experts who go above and beyond for your pet. I have two siamese cats and a whippet puppy prone to mysterious ailments. Zasman's have been amazing: flexible, thorough, efficient (particular thanks to Caryn, Chloe, Lisa, Rebecca and Bhakti). A plus that my animals all adore them, and that the surgery itself is a sane and cheering environment to be in (not all are). The vets here were instrumental in socialising my puppy as well as treating her - putting me in touch with a dog walker and referring me to puppy classes. Equally good with people and with animals. Highly recommended for neurotic, first-time dog owners like myself. Read Less

Anyway, Never take your pet for a dental surgery there except if you're happy to risk your pets life! Read Less

Zasman were very helpful, friendly, and took great care of our kitten. As an added bonus, they are very professional about laying out the extra services they offer but are not pushy at all about trying to get you to pay for things you don't need.

If it wasn't for their quick diagnosis things could have been very different. You can tell all of the team have a genuine love of animals. Zasman is a superb vet practice in every way. Read Less

Read Less

I have been visiting Zasman Vet's in Hampstead for nearly 10yrs now & they have been nothing but kind and extremely helpful to me (especially as I was meant to be going to the Optician's further down the road!). The team of Rodney, Caryn & Chloe have also cared for my dog Shandy all this time and I would highly recommend them to anyone who loves animals as much as I do. I'm afraid if anything ever happened to Shandy, I would have to go out straight away and buy another animal if only to keep seeing the smiling face of the always welcoming Lisa on Reception. Nothing is too much trouble for this branch and I always visit knowing that my animal is in good hands and be well looked after. Read Less
